A lot of people hate on Sean Waltman, but Syxx was one of my favorites. The NWO should have stopped adding members after him. Anyway, thanks for this video.

He was super young holding his own with some of the greats. I’m so happy him and Scott were able to get clean and now are two to the best guys u could ever come across
@@cobrahklutch9779 I agree with you. I was never a huge fan of Sean's but his time in WWF with DX was amazing. He had many great matches and held his on every time. I am also glad that he and Scott Hall got clean and that they are doing much better than they were. I feel extremely lucky that I was a teenager when the Monday Night Wars started back in the mid 90's and got to watch it all the way through until Vince bought WCW and it was all over. It was amazing to be a wrestling fan during those times.
Syxx was my favorite NWO member. I've been a fan of Sean Waltman since I seen him in The GWF as The Lighting Kid. His kicks and fast wrestling style really appealed to me. Like everyone says if Sean Waltman said you can work, you can work. He's that good. I've also heard he's getting ready for a comeback.
I loved X Pac/Syxx hes one of my favourites and i never got tired of seeing him. I did meet him a couple years ago when he appeared at a wrestling show in my local area. He was very nice and greeted everyone like they mattered and was cracking jokes as well. I was a little starstruck
I was coming down here to say the same thing. Makes the most sense it was both things but directly named after 123 Kid, then they said “Oh and also he’s the 6th member!” And could use that as an explanation. Either way, it’s kind of a crappy name, imo. Which is funny because I think 1-2-3 Kid is a great name (that happened by circumstance, as the fans chanted 1-2-3 at Razor after getting quickly and shockingly pinfalled by “The Kid”. I also have this channel to thank for that info lol
I've always enjoyed Waltman's matches. Even at the time when X-Pac heat was established. Great video, I've been binge watching your videos lately and you've been doing a tremendous job.
Excellent slice of history here. Syxx could easily be passed over because of his limited time in WCW...You do a thorough and proper 25 minute bio. Love it. Stay Safe!
Xpac was my favorite as a kid from day 1 when he joined Dx the day after wrestlemania. I stopped watching regularly in 2000 so I was not familiar with "xpac heat" when I started getting into wrestling history. I can definitely see, as an adult, why waltman could be annoying and easily hated. That 2 year run I watched him religiously was awesome tho. I was a 12 yr old kid and I knew little of kayfabe. Although I knew it wasnt "real" ,it was like I believed it because I wanted to so badly. So that night xpac faced the rock on raw for the wwf title still sticks out to me. I probably marked out more during that match than any other time. I don't know if people always or even mostly felt like this at the time, but it seemed like there was a real chance that xpac could upset the rock that night. Great memories
He faced the rock at capital carnage too I think. For me his best match was against world champ bret hart on raw in the new generation. Bret did more for waltmans career in that match that waltman ever did
I think they were the same character just different and name. I think why they feel so different though is because DX was a much smaller group than the nWo. It’s easier for everyone to shine in a four-man group than it is for 16 guys to shine In a Organization like the NWO. Especially if in that group of guys like Randy Savage, Scott Hall, The Giant, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan Who were all main event guys. Sean Waltman always found away to stand out by his ring work though.
You’re always overlooked for a reason ! I’m assuming you commented as such , cuz you’re small , and don’t lie!! Go live vicariously through the non- believable Daniel Bryon !
Ed-Roc - The smaller guys were in pretty much every circumstance lucky to even be on the card and not being squashed by the big guys. Only a handful were anything decent like Jericho, Rey, Eddie. The rest were your Lenny Lanes of this world. Waltman was not a small guy, he was just not as put together as the majority of the guys back then, but as Syxx and X-Pac he fit in with the anti authority group because his promos were decent and he didn't look like a midget stood next to Hogan, Hall & Nash.
Shawn Michaels was one of the smallest and to this day is one of the most popular wrestlers ever.🤷♂️ Bret Hart wasn't much bigger and the same can be said for him.
"He has the distinction, in case you haven't noticed, of being the only guy since this "Wrestling War" got started, that was released from a valid contract for one company to go to the other side, which shows you how valuable he is."
Leo Stenbuck in the end it worked out best when he became X Pac,don’t forget at one point he was the most popular member,I remember he was my favourite member of DX and one of my favourites altogether,it sucks that it didn’t last as long as it could have and eventually X Pac heat became a thing, his tag team with Kane was awesome too

Yep. Plus in the WWF/E he was known as the test guy. Any new talent that came in or was given a trial match to see if they wanted to sign him, it was always Waltman that was used against the new guy. Because Waltman could get a good match out of nearly anybody, he was that good. So if the match ended up being poor they knew the other guy wasn't good enough to sign. I remember around 97/98 we didn't get the WCW PPVs, so it was always tense tuning into Nitro on Friday night on TCM (remember when we had to wait 5 days to watch Monday Nitro) to see who had the belts after the PPVs. Luckily the internet wasn't what it is now so there were no spoilers!
This really should be the biggest wrestling channel on TH-cam. I don't particularly care about Sean Waltman, yet I'm still intrigued by the in depth analysis and absolute ridiculous amounts of knowledge this guy has about wrestling. The fact he seemingly can go from idea to video in 2 weeks (or less) is beyond insane. This man is an encyclopedia of knowledge.
Syxx being the nWo are tremendous for a couple reasons. First, his Kliq bros in Hall and Nash were in it. And him being the Cruiserweight division gave the division another top notch cruiserweight to be invested in. Rey, Dean, Jericho, and Eddie had the fans invested in them. Some of the other guys in that division WHILE AWESOME in ring didn't have the fans emotionally invested. So Syxx gave the nWo a great cruiserweight who could put on great matches with Rey, Dean, Eddie, Jericho, etc. Before Syxx, the group had NOTHING but guys 275 pounds and up. And let's face it, the nWo's thing was being a great in ring faction. Like the Horsemen at their best. It was about the mic skills, storylines, and IT factor they bought to the table. So Syxx as the workhorse was refreshing to have in the crew!
I too think of the 90’s when i see Waltman but he was very mediocre on both factions he was apart. Always leeched off the bigger stars around him so HOF not really getting my vote
DonMega DonMega actually, the bigger stars all used his ideas to get over with the younger audience. 4 life, kliq hand gesture, too sweet, crotch chops, they’re ALL Waltman’s ideas.
Syxx was a breath of fresh air for Sean Waltman considering he wend from being buried in WWF as the 123 Kid in 1996 against the guy who ironically was responsible for his push in 1993 (Razor Ramon Scott Hall) and end up teaming up with that same guy in WCW later that year. The gimmick also kinda served as a catalyst for the X-Pac gimmick in WWF.
I believe bischoff himself on his 83 weeks podcast. Has stated that yes they changed Sean waltman's name to syxx because 1 + 2 + 3 = 6. But, he was the sixth member of the nwo. So technically both are correct.
Considering the fact that Triple H put all his buddies in the HOF and Vinnie Mc allowed this, there's other people that should be allowed in the HOF that had ousts while in WWF/WWE
@@bv4142 i can agree with that. all of Levesque's Kliq buddies along wit him made it multiple times while other more deserving talents have been shafted from Vader Sid among others. Lost track who got inducted n who haven't
Was never a fan of Syxx or X Pac but after watching his podcast and shoot interviews my respect for him has improved greatly.Guys overcame his demons and isn't covering them up or makes excuses hopefully he can transition into training new talent.
A useful word to use in the future for situations like this is 'headcanon'! One of my favorite words coincidentally enough, lol. EDIT: 1 + 2 + 3 = Syxx is also my headcanon for the name, LOL.
Sean Waltman is one of my favorite wrestlers. I became a fan in late 98 so he was already X-Pac by that time and when he gave Shane a bronco buster on RAW and parodied the Corporation/Ken Shamrock, that was all I needed. Once I seen him work, being a fan of martial arts, I was sold. Him and DDP were my guys. Scott Hall too. But I was a Syxx fan for no reason/on accident/outta curiosity. On the back of the WCW Nitro video game one of the bullet points was "over 60 members of the WCW roster - even including Syxx!!" So naturally I was like "who is this Syxx guy?? That's a pretty cool name" and I was fan simply based off that. Once I did my homework and realized Syxx and X-Pac were the same guy, that was it. Even during the X-Pac Heat days, the only thing I didn't like was him being Light Heavyweight champ cause that belt was so bottom rung. X-Factor was a bland faction as well. Him and Justin Credible would and could have worked better as a tag team with Albert being the insurance policy, ala Rick Rude in DX but the execution was pretty lackluster
Man I used 2 spam Scott Norton n wrestling games, mferz used 2 b like "why u alwayz pick him?".... Me: beat him & I won't.... *Powerbomb followed by Shoulder Breaker happens* 1..2..3
I know the Kliq can be really annoying with their behind the scenes politics and how they love backstabbing anyone who wasn't in their clique. However we can't deny that whatever the odds are, they were always loyal to one another and they always stood up for one another. And myself and I believe a lot of people can relate to this too. Why have hundreds of phony friends, when all you need is 3 or 4 true brothers.
You forgot a member of the kliq that also missed the curtain call. Justin Credible stayed in the back because he knew he'd take the hit for it. Just look at what happened to Trips.
Always one of my favorites. Forget the so-called X-Pac heat in 2000/2001. Even if people turned on him, he was the best performer in the mid card after Benoit and Jericho, if Jericho could even be considered a midcareer at that point.
In elementary school back in those days, word on the street was they called Sean Waltman "Syxx" as a carryover from the 123 kid gimmick sense 1+2+3=6...2nd graders will believe anything especially back in 1996//'97🙄
A lot of people hate on Sean Waltman, but Syxx was one of my favorites. The NWO should have stopped adding members after him.
Anyway, thanks for this video.

123 Kid, Syxx, or X Pac is 90's nostalgia to a T only person to properly be a part of DX and NWO. He should have been in hall of fame a long time ago
I too think of the 90’s when i see Waltman but he was very mediocre on both factions he was apart. Always leeched off the bigger stars around him so HOF not really getting my vote
@@donmegadonmega3533 i agree he's been inducted 3 times already
@@donmegadonmega3533 rick Rude was in both the nwo and dx.
@@ADG.Est.1988 So was Shawn Michael but only in WWE.
Pls.. More of these.. during this crazy time, these bios really help!
I believe bischoff himself on his 83 weeks podcast. Has stated that yes they changed Sean waltman's name to syxx because 1 + 2 + 3 = 6. But, he was the sixth member of the nwo. So technically both are correct.
Thanks for doing this! It is hard to find any Syxx videos on TH-cam
my uncle loved xpac he was always the little guy underdog.. man good times watching with my family
Can't wait for the video of x-pac in wwe between 98 and 2002. and his TNA Runs
My fav nwo shirt was that one with the six ball on it
You should possibly do years in review ... Of the year memorable Debuts, Heel/Face turns, Ppvs etc etc
Ben Gotti Great idea!
Paul Orndorff deserves a video!
Mr. Wonderful.
I'd like to consider myself this channel's biggest fan, I love all these videos
Awesome Video! Appreciate it 👍😆
Thanks for keeping the great content coming🙏👏🏻
The nWo should have taken over the hall of fame for a year, and all members should have been invited to be inducted.
Xpac was 1 of my favorites, along with Tatanka , old undertaker , Mr.Perfect and Original Crush .
My favorite Syxx match is probably the one he had with Flair at Road Wild '97.
I would love to have one of those nWo flyers.
Great research about nWo Sting being the 6th member. I guess he was official 'officially' the 7th, so Syxx was 6th.
He's Syxx, for both reasons. If anyone else was the supposed 6th member they weren't gonna get the same name.
I heard it “6” cause he followed nash and hall around always on his “6”. I forgot who said it but I think it was because of this
I feel like you've done alot of uploading lately but as a fan of this channel i am not complaining!! Keep up the great worm!!
John B All hail the great worm!
I loved when X-Pac laid Hogan out in that HHH vs. Sting Wrestlemania match.
Sean Waltman is hands down the most underrated in-ring performer I have ever seen.
@16:52 What did Sean say that was so offensive? I can't make it out.
14:00
Mr. Hildebrand, you are still heavily missed! Rest in peace, real shooter......
I like the idea of 1,2 & 3 being added up the best. That's what I'm sticking with in my mindbrain.
A useful word to use in the future for situations like this is 'headcanon'! One of my favorite words coincidentally enough, lol.
EDIT: 1 + 2 + 3 = Syxx is also my headcanon for the name, LOL.
Another great vid man Xpac was underrated as in ring performer and on the mic never knew he was in WCW though
WCW couldn't possibly name Sean Waltman as "Seven". They already had plans for Seven. **shudders**
BeerIsTheTrick what did they do as far as the name “seven” goes? I honestly don’t remember
TheFacelessGod the goldust’s WCW gimmick
Wasn't million dollar man just a manager by then so he was the 6th active wrestler
Wrath, berlyn and scott Norton need vids. They all have very interesting back stories if you dont know
MrDreamer60 Wrath was covered in the Adam Bomb video a couple weeks ago, since they’re the same guy.
Man I used 2 spam Scott Norton n wrestling games, mferz used 2 b like "why u alwayz pick him?"....
Me: beat him & I won't....
*Powerbomb followed by Shoulder Breaker happens*
1..2..3
@@charlesedwards2856 o thanks I missed that. Cheers
Just found your channel. Your content is amazing. Thanks for the uploads!
Can we all agree the NWO theme is one of the best themes in history?
Man Amazing Vid Sir I love the knowledge about the matches and your subjection's of matches to checkout good stuff.
You forgot a member of the kliq that also missed the curtain call. Justin Credible stayed in the back because he knew he'd take the hit for it. Just look at what happened to Trips.
They flat out told him that he’d get fired.
Thank you, huge fan of his.
Much Props To This Channel!🤘
I loved the original Wolfpack and I’ve always been a xpac mark at every stage
Always one of my favorites. Forget the so-called X-Pac heat in 2000/2001. Even if people turned on him, he was the best performer in the mid card after Benoit and Jericho, if Jericho could even be considered a midcareer at that point.
In elementary school back in those days, word on the street was they called Sean Waltman "Syxx" as a carryover from the 123 kid gimmick sense 1+2+3=6...2nd graders will believe anything especially back in 1996//'97🙄
Hilarious... The same here in Germany
Good one.
I'm 35 and I still believe that's why he was given that name
ALSO! 14 year-old me noted.....1x2x3=6!
Been waiting for this one.Waltman was a highly talented gem🤘
I can't stop watching 17:01
I always thought X-Pac did the best crotch chop.
What was he saying? I can't make it out.
These videos sure brighten my day
Sean is one of the most underrated wrestlers of all time
Ooowee!! That nWo remix butta as hell dawg!!!!
Great intro to the video!
