  • Waterproofing your gear is the best way to add life and longevity into outdoor products.
    I recommend using a waterproofing spray on shoes, jackets and pants you wear in rainy or wet conditions once per year.

    Thanks! I've had a hard time finding a good spray for my shoes. Then I found spraying my feet too is the key.

    Cool . I get the quart(?) size that is made to put in the washer with the items . I then add a couple gallons of water to it in a contractor trash bag , toss in my item , carefully expel the air , make off the top of the bag with a large rubber band and then walk on it like I'm squishing grapes . This way I can do allot of articles as well as save the solution for the next time .

    Does the jacket need to be wet to apply (the directions on the bottle seem to imply that)? Thanks so much!

      There is a different type that you should use on luggage or backpacks not the apparel kind it’s really depending on the material that your items are

    I used it too, but outside. We're already swimming in a biological timebomb, with nanoparticles of plastic, metals and worse in dvery single cell of our bodies, i don't want to add anything else to the insanity... Drier, another one indispensable things I love avoiding.

      Used it on heated gloves,
      You don't need to tumble dry
      Or use any heat
      Dried them on radiator to be quick
      Left them under running tap for
      30 mins, completely dry inside 😀

      @@AliceFordAdventures Hi there! While the spray can do wonders on its own, a lot of the time a jacket is no longer waterproof simply because it is dirty! Dirt and body oils actually attract water and can cause your jacket to wet out, so simply cleaning it with a technical cleaner, in this case it would be Nikwax Tech Wash, can help restore water repellency, and vastly improve the performance of the water proofing product. We like to say, you wouldn't wax a dirty car, you don't really want to waterproof a dirty coat.

    • @AliceFordAdventures
      @AliceFordAdventures  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They make another kind that doesn’t need to be dried. But also maybe you have a hairdryer? I believe this kind needs heat to set

    • @NikwaxNorthAmerica
      @NikwaxNorthAmerica 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi there! Since Nikwax does not use any PFAS chemicals, you do not need to use heat to activate this, or any of our products, so no need to have a dryer. Happy waterproofing!
