    Been watching all the videos. Before i had kids I had a 1000 watt amp, separates in the front, preamp, 6x9s in back, 2 12in box in back of a Toyota SR5. loved it. Had kids. Now I'm stock. Dream of my old set up. I see your videos and I'm jealous. I'm a teacher and that doesn't leave a lot for a sound system.
    Well done boys. Love the channel.

    Ok guys, solid job on this video! I’m looking for a little clarity as I attempt to finish this project myself.
    I’m using the factory speakers and sub in my srt-10, I bought the GX-3800/20 with wireless backup camera from Stinger. I called and correct the listing on this package because my model does need the amp bypass wiring harness. Stinger sent me the BHA6510 which I am trying to run now. Here are my questions.
    The point of this is to no longer use the amp located behind the dash, correct?
    If the above question is yes, then the non plug end of the BHA6510 wires directly into the new harness for the GX-3800/20 right?
    I noticed another factory amp under the seat which I assume powers the sub. Do you have any diagram that explains which factory color wires the BHA6510 wires up to?
    Sorry for the long rookie type question, but I’m too far to travel to you guys and nearly complete with this install. (Radio and everything powers on, just no audio hints the amp bypass).

    Just curious, do you guys ever use an oscilloscope for setting midrange amp gains? Or all ear? I generally do 0db test tones in the middle of whatever the filters are set to, i.e. 1khz for mids, 5khz for tweeters and then look for clipping on a scope. Do you find it possible to hear clipping in midrange speakers and tweeters, or do you just listen for distortion?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We like to use the DD1 for most things. We have a scope but don’t use it much anymore. Yes you can train yourself to hear when it clips. Your ears are an installers best tool.

    I'm having difficulty finding a 12 volt trigger in the boot of a 2016 4 series bmw, to turn on the amp I wish to instal. Have you worked on these cars and found a place you can tap of?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc

      @mfrancis706 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply guys.Yes, I was going to use a Audio Control LC2I to do that job but I was told I may get issues with the signal sensing switching off, because I would be tapping of the under seat sub which sometimes does not move to create signal sensing. So, I have a 2006 dodge ram 2500 mega cab. With the Infiniti Soundsystem and it to has an amplifier underneath or behind the glove compartment. Would you recommend removing that completely when installing an aftermarket head unit. And installing a new amplifier? Also, I understand that you put in bass resistors in the two 3” dash speakers. Would you still do that as well? They definitely don’t wanna blow those with too much bass. I know this is late to the game but I’ve come to the realization that I have to get rid of that Uconnect Chrysler stereo. It shorted out anyway. Thanks Guys I appreciate it

    1983 Chevrolet Impala Sedan (box chevy)
    Kenwood KDC-BR568U single din bluetooth cd player with built in crossover.
    2) Clarion 30 watt rms 4x6 3-way dash speakers
    2) Clarion 100 watt rms 6x9 5-way rear deck speakers
    2) Clarion 300 watt rms 12" single voice coil subwoofer
    1) Pioneer GM-D9605 5-channel amplifier
    I am considering adding 2 more 5-way 6x9's. Is it a way to wire all 4 6x9's into the rear channel of the amplifier, and maintain a 4-ohm load. I am trying to keep a single amp system, while slightly increasing my vocals & midrange levels.
    Also, would adding a Clarion EQS755 7-band graphic equalizer / crossover be a beneficial addition to my setup, or would it be "fighting" with the Kenwood's built-in crossover?
    Any advice you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated. I respect your knowledge, and love the work you do.

    • @jameselam8263
      @jameselam8263 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      stillrumone Speakers up front would improve your sound stage, and you can run that amp at 2 ohms, but I recommend a second amp because even at 2 ohms each speaker would get less power than what it needs. That's just my 2 cents worth I hope it helps!

    • @stillrumone
      @stillrumone 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jim, Thanks for the advice. I figured I would get decrease in volume to each 6x9, by adding 2 more on the same channel. But I was hoping that it would add a tad bit more overall volume, while maintaining my single amp setup. I stared into my trunk for about 30 minutes yesterday, considering dual amp positions. And a dual amp reconfiguration just might be in the works.

      Buy one piece at a time. Buy headunit, front speakers, rear speakers, amp, sub etc. Once you have everything then install it or have someone do it for you. I have always built my systems this way. I wait until things go on sale and do all my research as to what will work and sound best for the money and make sure all the components work well together (like the amp can supply the right amount of power, can handle the ohm load that you will be using etc.

    • @rxtuninginc8444
      @rxtuninginc8444 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 grand could very well be in the ballpark.
      Headunit $300
      Front speakers $150
      Rear speakers $150
      Sub $200
      Box $150 (truck boxes are more than standard trunk boxes)
      Amp $300
      Wiring/RCAs/Fuses etc $200
      Plus labor to install.
      I've done complete systems for around $1000 but requires being patient and waiting for sales or when the new model comes out the outgoing one is heavily discounted so they get rid of them. At full price it would have cost me double that.

    for amp to sub level you should ALWAYS use the E=PxR ( P x R square root ) @ 50-60Hz test tone! fidgeting by ear is a 9/10 poor quality option not only because everybody has different hearing or hearing impairments that could cause some one to do the old school kicker fan boy move and max out the amp gain, but other equations also include RMS/V=A cause most of the time your alternator or factory power will not have the proper power for the amp. why this guy does NOT show you these important things ( if you wanna be loud and sound clean ) you should consider these things. its not just a plug and play type of thing or a turn this and hope you dont break that kinda thing. sure there are SMD tools but even though you have all green lights does NOT mean that the amp or sub is supplied correctly power wise , this can lead to blown subs or fuses blowing and the most annoying thing all car audio guys ( including myself ) hate seeing and trying to fix on your or their amp is the protect mode issue ( sick of fixing these problems in peoples set up because well ... they lack research ). i would like to see a video from this guy showing the PROPER way to set and match gains and RMS from amp to speaker / subs. #FORMULA #SLAMOLOGY #DOYOUEVENSPL #GOT160S
