Great plan for the E9 to put in the M5 engine and hopefully a 5 speed manual. Please leave the beautiful body stock since to cut it up and install a wide body kit would be sacrilege! They do need to have the suspension and brakes modernized though.
Would you ever do contract build on channel? It seems like you do primarily buy > build > sell/enjoy. I have an e30 325ix that i think is 80% minty. It's got some miles. I'm in over my head. Alternatively I'd pay just for a look and some advice.
@@seattlefiorelli i get asked this often, but unfortunately I am just too busy with my own passion projects/ business projects to take on other’s projects. Maybe in the future as I expand!
@@benggazi i think that would be cool, but turbo car is out of question, daytona is out of question, and an M5 on track is a bit scary seeing as any engine mishaps costs about $10k and months of downtime
Hello Josh love your channel, I have a question regarding the m60b40, what is the best route to get more power? Can it handle boost healthly or is the m60b44 mod a better choice? Or maybe an m60b44 turbo build 😂. And in regards to tuning I guess an aftermarket ECU (thinking about the speeduino) is a must? Or is the stock ecu flashable?
@@DeezNuds thanks dude! So originally I would have said m60b44 stroker hands down, BUT there has been some new developments and dyno results that have proven the stroker mostly ineffective. Producing marginal power increases to just a stock B44 M62. I would say best way to power would be either a supercharger if you can find a kit or make a Jaguar eaton work, or cams, exhaust, standalone ecu and some tuning. Turbo is possible but rarely done, fabrication nightmare. Stock ecu can be chipped but not most effective
@@m3nameisjosh464 thank you very much for the information, I'm gathering as much information as I can before jumping into building my dream E34 and your channel has been a great help (actually the best!)
@m3nameisjosh464 So? You don't have to rip a car apart to take it on the track. And it's not like my car looks worse from all those one laps and track days. Other than losing some clear coat removing stickers, most people can't tell my 37 year old paint and body has been mostly untouched. Start simple and sharpen you driving skills. Brakes, suspension, tires and sport seats. That's all you need.
@ true true, I just feel like id rather jump in with a smaller chassis. Plus if anything happens to engine im basically stuck with a 3.5 then, wont ever find another

Eventually, I have to get another manual to daily, to save miles on my upcoming 968. I feel more comfortable putting more miles on BMW M3 or M5. The e36 M3 sounds more in my budget short-term. How long do you think you will hold on to the estroil M3? I will save up some more. If it is still around, that would be one of the perfect daily options to relieve my upcoming 968 that I am going daily for a little while.
