Dealer told me if the aforementioned spring breaks, it's $300 to fix because the entire top of the console would have to be replaced. Total cost for positive fix was $16.00. I may have over-paid for parts by $5-6 dollars. Total repair time was right at 2 minutes. Thanks for you informative video.
You saved me multiple times over the years with flimsy plastic breaking all the time. Everytime it breaks I order a new one and come back to this video. You're a good friend in need. Thank you. 😊
Thank you for this perfect how-to video! This is exactly how they should be done, get right to the point. I purchased a replacement latch from Amazon for 8 bucks and It took me longer to watch this than to install it!
Thank you! Got pretty far without watching this but chickened out when I realized how much force was required to secure the second pin. Afraid of busting it! Took your advice and it snapped in like a charm
Thank you so much for this video! Got the part on Amazon for 16CAD$ in 24 hours, watched your video, got it done in a breeze! Stealership was asking around 300$ and making it sound like a mission to Mars...
I just had to replace my handle 2/3/23 and it was $15. If I hadn’t saved the spring, it would have been over $500 to replace the whole assembly. Whew! Thank you for posting this - would have been lost without it
Thank you for a great video and instructions. I encountered a problem when installing mine because the spring that came with the new latch did not align with the old spring on where the points came out. Thus, even though I was able to get things together, it did not grab the lower latch. Thank God I had kept the old spring. I just reused it and everything went together smoothly.
Very helpful Patrick (part did not come with instructions). I spent less time on the replacement than I did watching the video! Easy fix thanks to your tips!
Thank you so much for doing this video. While it wasn't exactly the part I was dealing with, it gave me the idea for how my spring goes back into the coin drawer on my Toyota. Thank you very much! I had to see how it worked from someone out there, and your video helped.
Well, I should have watched this video FIRST. But know, I tried to force it in without knowing about the slot for the right side stub - In forcing mne in, I broke it and used your link to buy another one from Amazon, which I will get tomorrow. Thanks again.
Thank you very much for this video!!! I had no idea the hole was for the other peg of the spring to go into. If I had tried to compress the spring and lay it up against the top like I thought I needed to, I probably would have broke something.
Bought this on Amazon, once for my wife's RDX, and it was a solid fit. About 4 weeks later, the latch on my RDX quit as well. Got another one from Amazon, and unlike the first purchase, this one barely holds the lift down.
5 star review!!! Anyone else is full of dookie. This guy fixed a problem for me in 25 seconds. Stop messing with him. He is HIM! Goated! Certified. Thank you!!!
Cost $8 thanks to you! Keep your original spring! I bought a replacement latch off Amazon (Kallia Kerman) and the spring it came with wouldn’t keep the console closed. Swapped it out for the original and is super tight.
Thanks! Just the video I was looking for! And to @johnbacon2100 point, I’m sure glad that I held onto the spring! Dealer part for $16.00, but quote for the full install was exorbitant to say the least. I was weighing the console down with my roadside safety pack for like 2 years before I got the part and fixed it today…in 2 minutes 😅

Haha, dealers are such a joke.

Not sure if you’ll see this but I’m having the same problem. How did you get he latch out once you realized without breaking it?
Thank you. I would not been able to get this in properly without your video. Greatly appreciate it
Took me 5 minutes and I chickened out afraid I was going to break the part I bought for $8. Took my son less than 2 minutes to pop it in! Thanks!!
thank you for a concise direct how to. perfect. I did it in 3 minutes bc dropped spring twice. still-easy peasy.
30-Second "Fix" after watching this Video = $10 part!!! (I was SO concerned it would be the Dealer Fix at $1k!!). THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!
Where did you get the part? There’s no link to purchase it in the description, as per the video!!! I would really appreaciate!! Thanks
Fixed in 60 seconds! Thank you for helping me! I will keep a spare one in stock for the next time it breaks! $8 and I was done!
Thank you for the video. When I received the latch it snapped right in place. Very easy.
I never comment but thank you so much!! Bought the part for $7 on Amazon, watched your video and 30 seconds later it’s fixed. Saved me so much money.
Very helpful Patrick (part did not come with instructions). I spent less time on the replacement than I did watching the video! Easy fix thanks to your tips!
Thanks much, the instructions were spot on!
Used super glue to hold the longer plastic piece in place as it snapped off. Thank you for the clear instructions! 👍

Great video instruction -- well done. Saved me having to figure out how to put it in myself. Thank you!!!
Bought my replacement off Amazon. No instructions, of course. This was a great help. Thank you!!!

Thanks so much, Patrick.
This broke on my car several months ago and I wasn't sure how to fix it.
This was so great thank you so much for the thoroughness yet simplicity of the fix.
Just like the others… I took longer watching this video than the actual install. Thank you so much!!
Thank you for the no nonsense video. It seemed easier to install from the passenger side . 🤗
Thank you for the video! I must be slow, it took me 3 minutes to install.
Thanks big dog for the walkthrough. My lady busted hers up because she had too much stuff stored in it. Now she’ll leave me alone.
Well explained, just followed same steps and took just couple of mins. Thanks
That was an excellent video, good view and short and to the point! Big help! Thanks!
Thank you sooo much! I thought the part I bought was defective but turns out I was missing the spring as it was hidden. Thanks a lot! 🙏
You really can find anything on yt. Thanks so much sir!!!

After. 20 tries got it to work. Saved a ton. Of money

This video helped me replace the part in 2 mins- thank you!
I love this video. The dealership told me I would have to replace the console. Which will cost $382 + labor... SMH
saved me both time and money … thank you very much for this video!
Thanks for posting this vid, it was very helpful. 4 Stars, would watch again.
Thanks for the video, installed in less then 2 minutes.

Saved me $642.00, Thank you.
Thanks it was the best video for this and easy to install

I, unfortunately, lost my original spring. Thankfully, the replacement spring that came with the latch was perfect.
Mine just snapped. Thanks for vid
