Thanks for all the lovely comments guys! People are keen for a Whinnie and Bryni update. Can I ask what things you’d like included in that to make sure it’s something you’d like to watch? Big love to you all ❤️
Elphick.Event.Ponies I know it’s not something you can exactly include in a young horse update, but I am keen to know what your event plan for say a 5-6 year old is for the first year or two of competitions? (I have a 9yr old but we have pretty much only just started going out locally about Oct ‘19 and lost most of our progress with the whole Covid lockdown thing). I am keen as to start eventing (low levels) but it’s hard to know how many outings and what type (dressage day, show jumping at local ag show etc) that we need from your experience before trying to go eventing for the first time. Any insight would be appreciated.
Ari is gorgeous such beautiful markings! Love how informative your videos are Meg...great tips and advice with the horse's needs and well being at the centre of everything you do. Great to see young horses who are't being rushed :)
Always interesting to not only see how you get a young horse broken but also the reasoning behind everything. Love the videos and you can bet I'll be watching as long as you're making them!
What a lovely young horse you have bred, definitely would love to see more of your handling and starting process, thanks for sharing your journey with Ari.
I would lovvvvve to see Ari’s progress!!! It’s the beginning of a journey I want to come along on!!! He’s just so sweet if not a bit naughty. 😂🤣 I’d also love to see a picture of his dad!!
Seeing your horses grow and learn and achieve things is one of the greatest things on this channel ❤️ can't wait to see how smart you two will look riding together 🥰
The more a young horse is known to us, the more they feel like family. So, yes, more of the youngsters as they get introduced to things and as their personalities are caught on film, the more they mean to us. The first ride/s would be so much more heartwarming if their year/s up to it already "bonded" us with them. The attachment deepens when it feels like we've known them all along and can then follow their careers as they mature.
I can’t wait to see 5 yr old Ari, he’s a lovely youngster😊 And I'd love to send you some of my US Midwestern spring rain...It won't stop! Hopefully I'll get to ride a bit, at the end of the week. We've been taking it super easy, anyway, since Corona. I'm glad you and Hobbit and the Ponies are doing well!
Wow Ari is just adorable and so sweet. I love how you take things slowly with the youngsters and I know that it makes them more of a well rounded pony. Can't wait to see more of you working with him. Looking forward to the makeover too on Sally. Xx
@@elphick.event.ponies Meg I have no doubt the filming will be great as always 😁. I'm sure hobbit will be with you too to help out and Sally will just look even more fabulous lol. Just enjoy and keep smiling that will work too ha ha x
Smart looking pony acts like he has some brains, never sure if that's good or bad in a youngster. Lol Enjoying your videos. Your always sending a good message and your content is great and you enjoy what your doing.
❤️❤️❤️ A mule or a hinny is a crossbreed between a donkey and a horse ( the only difference is the parents order ) they are really good at trail riding since they have amazing endurance and you can jump them. They are super cute with their big ears and face. I love them ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love the various youngster orientated vlogs, involving groundwork, under saddle work and just general training. I find them super educational and I love your correct, safe and kind style of horsemanship (ie helmet on prior to lifting baby feet etc.). I would be super interested in one or many videos discussing the similarities and differences of all your babies and toddlers. Ari is adorable and I can't wait to watch his progress and the progressions of all your young ones. Honestly Andrew Cotter and you are really helping me get through this pandemic! Mercifully, I can ride again. It was tough for a bit.
I own a 7 year old unbroken mare, and I am planning to gently and slowly break her in over the next years, so ANY content on young horse starting is very intersting for me. Ari is a beauty, and I hope he'll exceed your expectations. I can't wait to hear more of your babies!
I love these types of videos, and would love to see more of this! As much as the horse evolves, we, as humans, evolves as well working with these gentle beasts. That's what fascinate me the most about horses.
seeing him all plaited , looking so smart you can really see his potential . a continuing series on how you bring him along would be great ,and fun for you to look back on .
Ari: Mom that's not a very nice thing to do to a guy while he is sleeping.. Ari is beautiful and the two colored tail blows my mind. Your horses have so much personality that find myself thinking of them as people. People with 4 legs of course , but people all the same.
I love your account so much, you have inspired me to start eventing with my ponies and you have taught me so much with the best riding tips. I love all your ponies and you have done so well with your projects too!
Love seeing the work you do starting the ponies. This type of quick training session/desensitization is definitely not shown enough but super critical with youngsters! Sleepy Ari is the cutest!
Was so nice to see more of Ari, he is absolutely stunning! I love how your honest about what happens when training them to show their ups and downs. He is so trusting in you both so lovely to see ❤️
Ohhhh YES PLEASE....I would love to follow his training....warts an all ...as I have a 2 year old. I have been really impressed with how your youngsters have turned out...Jaffa, Sally, Dora etc You do such a great job....so I’d love to see how you do it👍‼️🥰
I would have guessed 15 hh. He is so big for a 2 year old. Please make this into a series. I would love to be able to back and produce horses when I am older. You have done such an amazing job with your other horses in the past that I would love to see the whole process. He is so sweet. xx
Thanks for being an inspiration Megan. Because of your vlogs I decided to trust my very calm youngster and today put her 4th (3rd this week) ride on her. She's been an angel.
I would really love and enjoy a series!! This is the best part of my day apart from riding!! You and Ari are going to be a stunner of a team out eventing. I love seeing you and your ponies grow and learn new things!!! The love you share with your horses are beyond what I thought love could ever be!! Thanks for being my hero, idol and inspiration Meg, even out riding if I ever get nervous I just think back to what I think you would do and it really helps!!
Love this video, I like learning how you work with your babies. It gives me options when working with my own! Looking forward to more videos of training your babies ♥️
He reminds me of my now 10 year old! Bought as a 2 year old as 14.3 - by ari's age he was about 15h but only made 15.1hh! Had hoped for bigger, hopefully Ari will grow tall for you. Mine is opinionated and has that chilled to "how dare you?" to chilled attitude too. Really look forwards to seeing your progress.
I am soo excited to see how Ari progresses! I am also super duper excited for Sally's makeover, you are what is keeping me sane during quarantine 😂❤️❤️
I really love these videos where you just take us with you when you do your normal day-to-day tasks around the yard. Not that I don't like the rest but I feel these I learn a lot from and they're super interesting and maybe even a tiny bit less work for you, at least planning wise :) Also it is so cool to follow the journey of a horse like that!
Honesty is one of the most important things in the world. keep up the good work! and yes, more ari, more of everything. i miss having horses in my life, and you make me feel like being a part of this world again after some years away due to personal issues, and horses aint cheap to hang arround. Thank you for being you, and giving me my dose of ponylove
Ari is such a funny boy. Almost like a cat: Adler 90% of the time & novelty averse! Really enjoyed the video - would love to see the other young ones as they go on.
He is soo handsome! One of my favorite colors is paints! What i have done in the past was put molasses on the bit so they learn to accept the bit easily.
He's truly lovely, he surely has a bright future ahead! I'd love more youngster content! Can you talk about how you first gained experience with youngsters yourself sometime?
Love Ari & really looking forward to watching him progress. He's getting so big now (both my youngsters are still pony sized lol). My coloureds aren't sensitive/weird on their white patches, but it isn't uncommon for fine haired, coloured horses to get sunburnt on their pink skin under the white hair patches (one of mine got sunburned shoulders this summer). A great tool for teaching horses to tie is the "Blocker Tie Ring"- I have mine on a clip so it's portable, it's essentially the same thing as what you are doing with the bars of the stable, except scaled down- if there is only light pressure, the rope doesn't glide through (so the horse knows it's attached to something & learns to give to the pressure), but if the horse gets a fright & pulls back, the rope slides through the ring. Not gonna lie, your "I can nearly guarantee you that" at the end had me LOL, Meg perfection right there ;D
I'd love to watch a series on breaking Ari, just keep him at the focus of everything and don't feel like you must wait to film before progressing if you get the chance/opportunity to work him but not enough to set up a camera. Even just a blog style talk through what you've done or been doing and show us the bits your proud of.

Now I'm hopefully having deep brain stimulation to stop the spasms in my neck, you have really inspired me to get back riding! I think lessons first, then look for a horse to compete! The sky's the limit for me at the moment and I have so many dreams I want to accomplish! I can't thank you enough for the effort you put into your videos...you really have inspired me to go and do what I can when I'm in the position to do it! Thank you again for all the effort you put in to create fantastic content and make me more and more excited!!! Best wishes, Charlie! X
