I still remember the day I saw my now five year old (she was two when I bought her!) mare for the first time! I bought her unseen and this was my first youngster. Loved this video! 🤞🏼 For kenco! My first foal- super easy to get the mare in foal but got placentitis at 8months and had it at 10 months despite our best efforts! It was alive- a gorgeous chestnut colt but it didn’t make it- even with plasma etc. just too premi Last Nov I had my 2nd foal!!! He’s now 8months old and GORGEOUS!!!! Good luck! And LOVE Zora! Good choice Can’t wait to see more of her

'Everyone's got a lunge whip in their hand' Honestly, it's taken a while for me to get the young KWPN mare that I bought in march to realise that lunge whip =/= RUN. Not because - as far as I'm aware - she's ever had any kind of negative experience (prior to this year she'd been feral and lived in a herd her entire 4 years of life), but simply for the reason that you mention. Vendors are always after the big, flashy movement; which is what we, as buyers, can't deny that we like to see! But that does end up in their being chased around a fair bit. I really love Zora, though. She's well put together and certainly doesn't look like a weedy baby (though maybe that's the oats...?!), and she looks very inquisitive without being overly anxious relative to what she's recently been through. Fingers crossed she settles in easily and I look forward to seeing what her future holds.

You deserve all this goodluck and happiness 100%! Im so sorry about your beautiful Mpenzi. I know how hard it is to lose a horse we lost one of our mares during a surgery and it just rips you apart. I cant imagine losing a foal after all the time waiting expectantly. I am currently waiting for a little one to arrive here in November and my heart just bleeds for you. You are so strong and Im so glad you found Didi. She looks like a very special soul. I admire your strength the retire Kenco, its lovely to see someone put their horses and their own mental well being before their own goals. She is going to make a beautiful mamma. I feel your pain with struggling through the injuries with Obi, my mums big warmblood gelding has been out for about 6 months with issue after issue, but i can say we are also on injury number three and he is about to come back into work after slicing his back canon bone down to the bone! So hopefully everything does go in threes. Love love love your videos, cant wait for the next one girl! Congrats again on Zora! xx

Congrats on your new baby. I purchased a 3 year old OTTB a few months ago. Question for you, do you plan on starting training once she settles in or do you think it is best to let her grow up a little before training to jump? I have been just working on ground work and likely won’t do any serious riding or train for another year.
