How about ranking American Video Entertainment games next? It's honestly just about the only NES publisher I can think of that you haven't covered yet. They would be loaded with D's and F's, mostly F's but I'd still like to hear your take on them.

I don't wanna get you _too_ excited, John, but there _was_ a 'Miss Piggy in Space' video game: 1983's _Pigs in Space, Starring Miss Piggy_ for the Atari 2600. It's a collection of three minigames, two of which are essentially Muppet-themed clones of _Space Invaders_ and _Frogger,_ with the third being a rather slow-paced vertical shooter of sorts.

Interesting stuff. My buddy had Orb 3-D and it did have 3-D Glasses with it. We used to chuckle at "Eat here and get gas" every time. Gotta hand it to a lot of these for their nice graphics and big sprites anyway.

Tom & Jerry: "The Ultimate Game of Cat and Mouse" is so good!
*That being said:* SCREW the kitchen level, as well as the one where you have to jump from a platform to a radio, to the (this part is cool lookin) Nes. You'll definitely get sick of hearing the level's music; if you get stuck, and booooooy does frustration take hold. The game definitely (for me) had a pretty high level of difficulty, BUT the fact that it is esthetically pleasing, and the over-all sound design is great. I mean, ya really can't beat hearing music from the show, (above comment aside) to help tie the whole experience together, right? Good schtuff, good schtuff.

There were also ones with Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and another one with Grover.

When I saw "Hi-Tech Expressions" I said "UGH! That hurts me a lot!".
The reason? "The Hunt For Red October" was my 8-bit gaming nightmare when I was a kid!
That music was a bad midway between weird and scary, the game itself was so slow (and BAD, but that's another story) and punishing that it he used to give me huge doses of anxiety!
I have 3 NES consoles: when I've purchased the 2nd one, in most recent times, I've got not one but TWO cartridges of THFRO as a "gift".
That was a gift?! It sounded more like if the monster of your childhood came back to haunt you again as an adult being with twice the power, damn!
Playing it as an adult, I finally understood the reason for that: the game features a really dark atmosphere, but not in a cool way.
Bringin' two examples, "Batman" by Sunsoft and "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (another game with very weird and scary music, but in a good way in this case) by Probe were way darker, but they were also mysterious and fun to play.
THFRO by Hi-Tech Expressions was just a mess: it sounded like if they tried to make something appetible for less younger audiencies, but they failed miserably!

As someone who owns that Muppet game and has played it hundreds of times over the decades, let me say this in its defense: Gonzo's space level is somewhat fun. Fozzie's level, however, is like a psychological torture experiment testing your sanity. Once you gather all the keys, you move on to a "somewhat" fun platformer, too. You're right, though, that it could have been anything, and making it a Muppets game does make it a missed opportunity.

The Win, Lose, or Draw title screen almost looks like something you'd see on the Super Game Boy with that default 1A palette. My favorite of these? I think I'm going to have to be the blasphemer and pick the muppet game. Yes, it's bad, but it's one of those games where you just get lost in its unintentionally surreal world, and to me, that's one of the biggest things that made the NES library so special. That's not to say that there weren't games with excellent gameplay and production values - good games in the traditional sense - on the NES, but every system has those; the NES is one of the best systems for those deep, dark worlds that your mind can get lost in.

I had Hunt For Red October. I don't remember why or how we got it but we had it. We only had a few games back in the day so as you know you are what you had whether it was any good or not. I remember enjoying it. I don't remember it being super slow but I haven't played it in 30 years... I remember liking the arctic level. We had a bunch of weird games that none of my friends had and none of them wanted to play, hahaha.

I remember renting the sesame street games multiple times and being entertained, even though I was a little too old to be playing them. Action, Adventure, Edutainment, easy, hard, cryptic...if it's on the NES, it's all the same. If the box art looked cool, then it get's even more rental points. To think, I skipped over games like Jackal, NES Open, Blaster Master, to pickup Ernie's big splash for the third time lol.

Letter-Go-Round freaked me out when I was a kid, because the atmosphere is so unlike an environment you would want to be. Amusement parks are supposed to be lit up and fun. This is silent and dark, kind of like you're somewhere that shut down for the night, and then all of the sudden these Sesame Street characters pop up out of no where and start dancing around. It's freaky.

John seemed a little aggressive and angry in this video game review, which is not typical of his other reviews. But given the subject matter, I don't blame him haha. Still interesting and informative as always.

I never played any of these because they were aimed at little kids, except for Tom and Jerry. That's a fun game. I like the cartoon games like Bugs Bunny. They are as fun and funny like the cartoons. Brings back the Saturday Mornings of the 80s.

You're right, Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry totally weren't aimed at little kids. No kid has ever liked Bugs Bunny.
But chess and The Hunt for Red October... Yeah, definitely made for little kids.

I enjoy your ranking videos. I'd love to see you rank Nintendo published SNES games.
