Max has always been clear about wanting to do more than F1 alone. He started doing GP's when he was 16 or 17 or so or pretty much damn near all his life.
part of me want to see max stay and shred every record in the book, like I know he can, with ease. They other part of me thinks we don't deserve to see max another 10 years. i feel like as a fan base we are blowing it but we have never appreciated the greats when they were great. either way I got to see it all, live, as a fan since 2017, so I am happy.
“Nelson Valkenburg one of the good ones when it comes to F1 journalism” Cam, you are not a Dutchman, so you cant hear the commentary he does. I have words for it, but ‘good’ is not one of them. He improved over the years in all fairness, but it still is a reason I avoid Dutch commentary. And he certainly isnt a journalist either for the record.
true he is not a journalist but a commentator with eurosports experience in other sports but a passion for F1. If I speak for myself, when I started to become interested in F1 again mid 2021 I initially listened to Ziggo-Mol and sorry to say that too many times I found myself puzzled thinking what the *** is he talking about, all I wanted is to start understanding the F1-game a bit.. when Ziggo lost the rights I took a subscription to F1 tv but initially needed to follow Dutch commentary hoping to start understanding a bit and regardless of how one looks at it, as novice I did actually learn more from Nelson and Melroy than from Olav. Gradually I did move on to UK commentary and occasionally select Dutch. Ha, just came across this Mol quote when the news got out about who was doing the talking for Viaplay. It's in Dutch.."
Yeah my dad and mom also watch f1 so they dont want english commentary (and tbf the english yap way too much) but the dutch commentary has become a lot worse since olav mol left
glad you speak in positive and appreciative words about Nelson Valkenburg. ever since Viaplay acquired the rights to broadcast F1 in Netherlands instead of Ziggo, both he and Melroy have been receiving so much negativity from many Dutch F1 fans (read ziggo/Olav Mol fans), really cringe worthy..
Max already hinted at being frustrated with the new RD management after Dietrich's unfortunate demise in an interview earlier this year; or perhaps even last year, I don't recall the exact interview/date; I think it was some Ziggo or Viaplay interview.
Toto was standing behind George.... Toto mest up again... Silverstone 21 he did not call Jos over how Max was doing... And he didn't call back George when was clearly lying about Max in the stewards room... That's what kind of man Toto is... If Max is going somewhere... he is going to Newey and Honda... The combo that took down Merc the last time... And they can do it again... Write that down...
The RB20 was designed around the intertial brake valve. Once the rules were "clarified" they had to remove it. Then all of a sudden..."the car won't turn". Newey was gone at that point...
There are already rumours that redbull did in fact develop such a aero - elasticity abusing front wing for next season. I take that as a fact because not developing such a front wing deliberately would just be suicide. Tyre Wear , combating mid corner undertseer are those thing which plagued the RB20 and that kind of front Wing will exactly help you with that. The only question is how extreme they have gone ? Do they have the know - how to produce such a flexible wing like mclaren ? As i undertsand it right now , as long as the front wing passes the FIA Load tests it can flex and bend as much as you want it to right ?
It is not lost on me that it's post f1 season and journalists must find something to talk about. So their suppositions for me are meaningless until Max himself says a thing.
Is it possible that we see an F1 season kick off with no world champions on the grid? Fernando won’t drive forever. Max and Lewis could potentially take the next couple titles and if then Lewis retires and Max sits out a season, wouldn’t that be wild knowing someone will for sure be a new WDC.
All the other teams should get aeroelastic front wings. I bet the FIA would break the land speed record to change the load test then. To be fair, Newey probably had the same amount of input on the RB20 as the RB19. Remember that work on a season's car starts around the halfway or so mark of the previous season. So work on the RB20 started around the summer break of 2023. This was WAAAY before Horner-gate or any of the other in-fighting that allegedly caused Newey to want to leave. After this season, I can't really see Max going to another team. After the💩he went through, it's either Red Bull or bust. However, that's not to say he wouldn't leave F1 altogether. I think he might; I just think it's far more likely that Max leaves F1 then leaves Red Bull for another team. It's pretty much impossible to get worse than 2024, when there were a couple of races where even HAAS, of all teams, were faster than the Red Bull car, and yet he stuck with them and hasn't left for 2025 as many predicted.
The Flexi-wing saga always rears its head at the end of a regulation cycle, we've seen this many times before - less we forget who the king of the "flexi-wing" is....RedBull
Max won't just walk away, not even if 2025 is disappointing. And he certainly won't stop for a year, I think he will stop around 2028, but he won't stop for 1 year, I don't see that happening.
Happy and healthy 2025 for Cameron and all the people who listen tocameron.. let’s hope max go on with driving.but he is a strange guy.if he says something he mostly do that . Max is not driving for p5-6-7 . Let be honest he started probably this year in the third best car . Normally good for p7 . No than he stopped and maybe for good . This boy love all varieties off racing . Maybe for the max haters fantastic news. Like sky sports. But if he doesn’t drive anymore racing will be more boring. He is the top off the top . And by his life (27) already a legend. But if his car is the same as Mercedes ,Ferrari,McLaren’s this boy has the talent in his body for 10x worldchampion .
no one has done anything like 1 to 5 in one go Hamilton 1 3 3 Schumacher 2 5 Sebastian Vettel: Won in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 Alain Prost: Won in 1985, 1986, 1989, and 1993

Ground effect cars have been a failure. They drove Ricciardo and Perez right out of the sport, and denied Lewis a competitive season to battle back after his 2021 robbery. The cars are so much larger and heavier than they were in the original ground effect era, you can’t create the vacuum seal under the chassis and also turn the car into the non-banked turns of street tracks and uneven surfaces. They won’t let cars drag an actual lip on the ground like they do with LMP and Endurance cars, where a rubber lip actually directly contacts the ground. They need to get rid of the plank entirely if they are going to continue with ground effect. The designers have to work with one hand tied behind their back and make a “magic” car that can somehow suck itself flat to the track in any kind of corner at any speed.
Wasn’t a robbery. If you were to only look at that one race, then yeah you could argue that it was a robbery. But if you include the context of the entire season (like you’re supposed to do), then it was far from a robbery.
@ that’s an idiotic POV and could be said of any championship, with any competitors, at any time. Look at this season with Lando vs. Max. That’s a cop-out to cover up the very real action taken by Michael Massi that had NO PRECEDENT and was improvised out of thin air for some mistaken goal of letting the championship be “real racing.” That specific moment is what counts, period. Otherwise it’s just armchair debates and nonsense. What if the earth opened up and swallowed Max whole?? That’s how stupid those discussions are.
@Karl105-b3e In context of the entire season?. NO. The final race decided the championship - the rules weren't followed in that race. It was a robbery.
@@supaG-1.0 “in the context of the season, Michal Massi contextually decided with no context to break the rules of racing entirely, contextually, and only allow certain cars to unlap themselves while Lewis Hamilton had to drive around at 1/4 speed, cooling his already worn out tires, while Max Verstappen got hot tires fresh out of the blankets, contextually, for a better spectacle” lol
Why is everything techy?? If Max was to leave RB then he would have to face something he hasn't had apart from one season with Danny Ric which is competition. RB design their cars around Max and they do not care about the second driver hence why they have got through so many. So if Max leaves he will have to drive a car not designed for him and face a team mate who has the remit to beat him. Would Max really want that given how fragile his temperament is when under pressure...? I think unless RB pull off a masterstroke then this years championship will be between the McLaren and Ferrari drivers. Plus the RB engines aren't looking great for 2026 so he might just quit or take a year or 2 out until Hamilton retires. Max is a great driver but he is like a dark cloud over the sport with his on track antics and off track attitude. Maybe best he goes to WEC.

😂
Max has always been clear about wanting to do more than F1 alone. He started doing GP's when he was 16 or 17 or so or pretty much damn near all his life.
He is trying to leave the sport on top. If he doesn't have the right car after Red Bull, he might be Vettel 2.0

You gotta leave glazing in 2024
Fangio never won 5 in a row, neither did Hamilton.
Only Schumacher has won 5 in a row.

Fully support this. Nelson is horrible. Sorry cam, but that guy has nothing to do with good journalism and research.
God, both he and Melroy make me cringe so hard! It's a shame that you're still stuck with their commentary on F1TVpro.
Dutch commentary has been awful for the last years.

The Orange Arrows were like the Saubers of late.
The FIA has its own Load Test .....which is a Load of BS which tests fans and drivers patience alike!
