Wow! I really do like that one. Earlier versions were good in plane mode but quite challenging in the vertical mode. This one seems to do well in all three modes making it both great fun and really versatile where landing/take-off space is limited. There's some really clever engineering gone into this
That looks so easy to control compared to the convergence some guys fly at the field! This will look great in my hangar next to my xk x520. And very well priced too! Awesome plane!
119$ not bad! Definitely gotta fpv it. Look forward to seeing what you can mount to it. I'd probably go ahead and carefully install something into the canopy instead of the little nose mount so I could balance it a bit better. Enjoy!

Omg! This is so much better than any of the Convergence by Horizon Hobby.
Have you flown it? Cause I have the convergence and they didn't do anything it can't did. This is essentially a convergence ripoff.

That was the question I was about to ask. Does it only fly in stability mode, or does it let you fly it full control? I think this would be perfect for my back yard fpv because I don`t have to belly land it in hard AZ. dirt. But if it only has stability mode I would get bored very fast. I did have the convergence which was majorly flawed. It flew great on take off, and transitioned very good, but when putting back in landing mode, you never knew what it would do! That is how it got smashed in pieces, flying great, hit switch to land, went straight down so fast by the time I hit switch to abort it was in 100 pieces on the ground. So yeah if this flies right and can have manual mode it would be much better than the horizon hobby junk. Have a great day! Thanks for review!

I just ordered this Albert. I have the XK 520 and the launch button does work. I like the fact of the quad copter aspect of it. Quadcopter 101 also had a problem with the take off button.. Why they place a down angle on the future camera is beyond me. I will just place a Mobius mini on mine.

What happened when you switched to 3D? It's basically manual mode, right?
@@AlbertKimTV Indeed no assistance from flight controller... it takes a second to switch back it seems to save yourself. Stay high. Broke nose off... and another crash removed wing... flies like new after glueing... haven't crashed in while... not nearly as easy as the A800 to fly in 3D.

I hope there will be decent FPV system possible to put on. I'm a little concern that meant place for camera will not be easy to use. Here is also camera tilt which limits camera angle over horizon(I just like that camera could have a lot of tilt angle). From my view will be very interesting to see how you will make FPV system here.
As flyer this looks great, fast and stable. (Y) Such device deserve good FPV sytem.
For auto takeoff you need to have your throttle at 50% before you hit the take off button. That's how their other VTOL planes work.
Thanks. I realized that now. The manual is very difficult to understand.
I put the throttle at mid and press hold take off button 3s. It just start motor about 20s then stop. It isn’t take off.
@theoztreecrasher I tried two battery full charged, don’t touch right stick, all trim is centered( I used mode 2 ). Put throttle at mid, press take off. Motor start a moment ( more than 10s ) then stop. Airplane doesn’t take off. I can take off manual and fly normally.
I also had XK 520. This one can auto take off by use one key take off.
For automatic takeoff you need 60-70% throttle, i have try it.😉

I've never flown the X520 but from what I've seen, I think the X450 will be easier because of the multirotor mode. It's very easy.

I don't think the x520 has multirotor mode. Just vertical mode and plane mode.

I do not recommend this model. Don't buy it. You will be sorry. There are two problems. First, a minor one, the plane stalled in drone mode when tried to fly backward. The major problem is that when I switched from drone mode to airplane mode with 40-50% throttle, the plane stalled and the two front motors pointed downward and jammed. Both servos were damaged and not flyable anymore. This was my 2nd flight. I need to replace the 2 servos. It is 100% software problem. Don't buy it.

How long is the battery time?
Depends on the mode you fly in... airplane mode is longest, about 15 minutes... vertical mode is shortest, about 4 minutes.
