While the person inside the Hound being a Faunus is actually notable, it isn’t *exactly* because they are a Faunus. The more important aspect is that they are a Silver-Eyed Warrior, like Ruby and her mom(though them being a Faunus SEW is important too because they are the first shown Faunus to have Silver Eyes in the series). A lot of fans think one of the darker shoes yet to drop in the series is that Salem didn’t merely kill Ruby’s mom but used her in her experiments to achieve these Grimm hybrids, and potentially, she may actually still be “alive” as one of these things.
Salem said that the hound was "An experiement" and that she was rather pleased with the results. to me that sound like that she not has an army or a group of such Grimm "Yet" but might very well build such in the future.
Marketa was really on point with her explanations, that's why she is one of my favourites, her sensitivity and how she is able to pull everything together for the rest to notice are qualities I appreciate a lot.

Fact 2: Originally they were not planning on making a horror episode in this Volume. The episode was limited to one location mostly out of necessity for the sake of production costs, and while discussing how to make the episode interesting it was decided that being trapped in a big house with their brand new scary Hound Grimm would be pretty cool. Fact 3: Kerry Shawcross described this episode as being a "ship in a bottle" episode with a largely self-contained plot. When it was decided that it would be a horror episode, the writing duties were given to Miles Luna by default. Two things make this entire mood not feel triumphant: Ruby and co, are not jumping with joy. This isn't justice they feel like when they killed The Nuckleavee, nor is it relief when they killed The Apathy, nevermind any sort of jubilee like when The Leviathan fell; they're scared and in utter shock. And on top of that nasty, bitter pill they need to swallow, it was nothing more than Salem beta testing a weapon. This Hound was just that; a trial run. 4 Volumes later and we now know why Salem wanted Tyrian to bring her Ruby alive back in Volume 4. And many a fan, myself included speculated something here: They never did find Summer Rose's body. Edit: My one complaint about this episode is how it ended; that bit with Cinder should have been at the beginning after the rubble fell on top of Robyn. I think editing-wise ending the episode with the chorus and the camera hovering over the infested person's skeletal hand would have made for a much better closing scene.

I really, really like this episode, some great moments between characters aside from an overall great setting. The summon was from Willow, yeah. Honestly i didn't think the fact it was a faunus was a factor, just that Salem was trying to turn people into grimm someway somehow. Also, it's hard to see, but the Hound grimm has silver eyes. (That made the fandom come out with a few theories for awhile... 😂)

Iron Wood had Watts hack into Penny to open the vault and self-terminate thus it is Iron Wood's plan, Not Salem's, she is just taking advantage of it since Watts was able to sneak a communicator and tell her.
BUT, the closed captions say, when Ironwood gets ticked at Watts and ask "What did you do?", Watts responded "I did what she wanted", so no, he never cared what Ironwood wanted.

The reason iron wood said "what did you do" is because Penny suddenly shut down and stopped the communication. Watts then says he was just doing as was told, and says it's probably just her system rebooting. As a reminder neither Ironwood nor Watts knew Penny was in the sky literally holding up Amity when the attack happened, they figured she probably shut down somewhere with the rest of team Rwby (thus Ace Ops demanding to know where Penny is when arresting JRY since they don't know she was fell from Amity).
I wouldn't mind Willow showing up at my bedroom door... and that's how she completes the MILF trilogy after Raven and Kali. Ruby's aura took a hit the first time, but it broke when she was dropped. no, but they clearly rely on their other senses like their ability to sense fear more considering that ren's semblance is not invisibility but has a 100% success rate in hiding people from grimm. one of those things the show shows and doesn't tell but I don't think anyone really talks about.
I don't think the grimm are blind per say, but they are heavily attracted to negative emotions. Ren's semblance completely cuts off the emotions, allowing for them to be hidden from the grimm. Now as for why the grimm don't continue targeting them even if there's no one else around? I think it could be because the world of RWBY is very negative. When Ren used his semblance there is always somewhere that had more negative emotion, which the grimm then get attracted to.

There are three factions at work: *Team Rwby and Jnr:* protect the people and stop Ironwood and Salem *IronwoodxWatts:* Use Watts to surrender the relic to Salem and gtfo but Watts is also trying to eliminate Penny *Salem:* "Bring me that girl! Do what you like with the others, but I want her alive and unharmed. They’ll give you no trouble, I promise you that. I’ve sent my hound on ahead to take the fight out of them. Take special care of that maiden. I want her to unlock the vault most of all. Now, fly! FLY!”
Ironwood doesn't want to surrender the relic to Salem, he wants it for himself to yeet Atlas into space (although that plan is kinda pointless now that the whale has landed). Watts is using that to trick him into creating an opportunity to steal the relic, and also destroy Penny.
Either Judgemental Critter or twiins iink pointed out the problem with the brand. The company name was never portrayed that way before. It's usually the snowflake logo, never the initials in that font. That's why so many missed the significance.
We haven't even gotten into Neo going even harder on fighting her fans for the right to redemption. That bitch made Tyrian based back in Volume 3. Shes about to go harder. Full No Russian I aint fuckin around.

no, but they clearly rely on their other senses like their ability to sense fear more considering that ren's semblance is not invisibility but has a 100% success rate in hiding people from grimm. one of those things the show shows and doesn't tell but I don't think anyone really talks about.
I don't think the grimm are blind per say, but they are heavily attracted to negative emotions. Ren's semblance completely cuts off the emotions, allowing for them to be hidden from the grimm. Now as for why the grimm don't continue targeting them even if there's no one else around? I think it could be because the world of RWBY is very negative. When Ren used his semblance there is always somewhere that had more negative emotion, which the grimm then get attracted to.

Since it seems like Salem doesn't *need* to use silver eyed warriors to make hounds and she does uses them to spite them.
So seeing the guy had silver eyes is just "okay, cool, but whatever."
@@Axel_Kasai Ruby herself literally talks about why Salem snatching Silver Eye Warriors was so bad. Saying she must've been experimenting on them. And even says that's probably what happened to her mom. And they have on way more than one occasion explained why Silver Eyes are special.

*IronwoodxWatts:* Use Watts to surrender the relic to Salem and gtfo but Watts is also trying to eliminate Penny

Ironwood doesn't want to surrender the relic to Salem, he wants it for himself to yeet Atlas into space (although that plan is kinda pointless now that the whale has landed). Watts is using that to trick him into creating an opportunity to steal the relic, and also destroy Penny.
The amount of people who thought the hound was Adam dispite the lack of the SDC Brand on the hound’s face really shows how irrelevant the brand was
Either Judgemental Critter or twiins iink pointed out the problem with the brand. The company name was never portrayed that way before. It's usually the snowflake logo, never the initials in that font. That's why so many missed the significance.
