The 88's were designed as anti-aircraft guns, but then they started being used as anti-tank and anti-infantry gun depending on the ammunition used, and they had a longer effective range than the tanks of the Allies.

@@lolxd5451 The 88 was a modified naval gun, and was put into service in 1933. It wasn't used against infantry until 1937. The armor piercing rounds were given to the 88 for a bunker busting role in 1938, and only then started being viewed as having some anti-tank capabilities. The gun was so terrifying to the Allied troops, that most of the time they assumed the 105mm and 150mm howitzer (standard German artillery units) were actually 88's firing on them. It was effective, but apparently has a reputation far greater than it's actual use in the war.

The Irish that settled Scotland in the early dark ages superseded the native Picts and Britons also forcing Christianity on them.
