    Hey Kevin. Thanks again for the videos. I’m gonna change the clutch on my boys 97 ke100. I haven’t taken it apart and want to get parts prior as much as possible. I noted the case seal,oiler seal and kick start seal. Anything else you you recommend? Also considering the barnett clutch. Should I do the friction, steel and springs together?

    My Snap ring had a thin washer behind mine... also, I don't have "clutch alignment" arrows on mine.. Kawasaki must of got wise after my bike. The NEW shift shaft is in ! ! ! So... Do you have a video on how to test, prime etc the oil pump? The previous owner disabled it. I'd rather use it since its in there... Looking through the rotary valve, I can see the little brass nozzle aiming in the rotary port hole. So, I'm thinking it will work. Some people prefer to premix. I think its easier to gas n go, and keep an eye on the oil sight. You're a great help. even if there is a small amount of people watching... we are all learning. You're a great teacher!

    • @jenntek.101
      @jenntek.101 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd rather use the pump. the previous owner cut the line from the tank, and plugged it just above the grommet. I replaced the lines... I have the shift shaft in, and tomorrow (Sunday) I'll bleed the oil pump. So far, so good. Slow process (had to run to the store 2x for bolts, fuel / oil lines and other things... Well? I'll keep you updated... The bike runs. Oh, dummy me... I forgot to get a shift lever and all the bike shops are closed on Sundays. ... bahhh....

    • @jenntek.101
      @jenntek.101 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think... the oily fuel being sent through the carb isn't a good idea on oil injected bikes... I agree about carb troubles.

    How much for the seat on the parts bike?

  • @crabtrap
    @crabtrap 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Kevin thx for all the info. you were instrumental in a 1980 barn find coming back to life BUT, i have a problem: I had a frozen clutch, so i did the type F trans fluid trick and let the bike sit for a week, my total ride time is about 5 mins of first gear flat gentle riding to slowly loosen the bike up. after about a 2 min ride the clutch plates unseized but then a hard a lite random grinding in the engine. the engine runs fine but now the clutch randomly engages/disengages along with the grinding noise. If i push the bike (not running) in any gear with clutch lever in, i'll get about 6 ft or more and the gear randomly engage. if i then push the bike backwards like 3 ft the gears disengage and act normal(clutch held in). when i start forward again it will randomly gear engage again. i'm suspecting one of the clutch friction plates disintegrated and randomly connecting engine to trans with clutch plate debris. have you seen this before? again the engine itself revs fine and the noise seems more from the trans/rear. the chain/sprockets are not causing this noise either and are viewable with covers off. the noise started with in seconds of the plates unseizing. thx
