Actually, there is one thing they could have done that would have been better. They could have sung all four verses. That's something many of us have never heard. BTW All four verses of the Star Spangled Banner are our National Anthem, not just the first verse which is all most Americans have ever heard sung.
Its funny. As a boy, I listened to this, and I felt something deep within. Having served my country and bled for her; the anthem means something entirely different. Its hard to fight back tears as I listen to each note played. Each time the swelling of the brass carries the choir, I can hardly contain my tears of passion and love for this country. Forget about the politics, and just love this country for what it is. Home.
Thank you for your service, because of people like you, people who are not afraid to say they served in these days where people displayed so much hatred to the people who are the reason they can live in the Land of the Free and the HOME of the BRAVE, I am proud to be an American. The Star Spangled Banner internally calls me to attention and I place my hands on my heart holding the tears from falling out of my eyes.
I can only imagine seeing two huge ass dinosaurs with trumps face on one and Hillary clintons on the other, fighting to the death, simply majestic. Brings a tear to my eye.
BRAVO From the time as a child I stood for our anthem, for our Vets and our Pledge Even now 66 yrs later when I hear our Pledge and Anthem I still stand and tears come down my face and my throat chokes. To all of the men and women and yes children who have died to help America become the great land she is, and through the ages THANK YOU PAX+
Yes, it too was beautiful, It sounded as if the Flag was coming out of the rubble's of war. John Williams has always been a favorite of mine and I thought it was an honor to have him in Washington DC. Thank you for sharing Mr. Stamp's.
John Williams can end a song like no one ever has... He completes the emotional feelings and gives a sense of completion by his writing... He to me is the GOAT Greatest of all time...
This was an amazing rendition for the occasion the sixteenth notes in the base line near the first ending gave me chills and those herald trumpets are awesome. For general use, however, I would like to see the Stravinsky arrangement used more often as it is easier for the average person to sing.
After serving in 2 wars in combat in both South China Sea and Persian Gulf and 66 yrs I still get goose bumps every time the Star Spangled Banner is played. The United States of America is not perfect yet, but we are working on that perfection. Never give up and love each other always.
This brought tears to my eyes. Remembering the price that was paid by our forefathers, ... and tears because of what our country has allowed to happen to it now. It is tragic. I pray those who are destroying it are ensnared in their own perversions and vanities.
if you know the history of the battle and where the lawyer author was as he scribble down the words as he waited on a British ship to see if our flag was still on the fort as it was and how as the British gave up and sailed away and we raised a most huge magnificent flag over the fort that the British were amazed it is a story from the war of 1812. The lawyer was Francis Scott keye trying to get the release of an American held by the British......great performance. I am proud of our military.
It is not necessary to bring in politics to this patriotic display. This song is for All and No party. This is for the American People. God blesses each and every American Citizen regardless of their position on political issues.
Most national anthems are intended to be sung by the people, in an act of communal bonding. The US national anthem is intended to be performed by professionals, while the people passively listen.
@@Fleetwing1627 Except it isn't. The tune, "Anacreon in Heaven" was written for an English gentleman's club, the Anacreontic Society, and was intended to be a showcase piece for a trained singer. The Anacreontic Society was dedicated to the pursuit of wine, women, and the arts, which is where the idea that the song was a drinking song came from. There was plenty of drinking at their meetings, but not by the singer of this song.
My history teacher recently started teaching our class about the war of 1812 and we watched a documentary and the battle of fort McHenry is just so cool to me, (I like the Battle of New Orleans too, Jackson was one of my favorite presidents)
If only USA would be like Russia and have choirs and ensembles perform their national anthem at major events, etc. This arrangement by John Williams stands up there with Russia's anthem. Very patriotic.
im not sure if this is normal but this just moved me to tears with the power he brought to the song and the fact that i am so proud to be an american. I am just so glad the amongst all our differences, America can be united under our flag and our national anthem (with the exception of colin Kaepernick)
Got back from Baltimore yesterday, went and visited Fort McHenry and saw the flag pole of where Francis Scott key would be inspired to right the Star Spangled Banner...... Life changing PS: Go birds! #Orioles
This came up on my youtube feed, and I was astounded because it's so complex on multiple channels of performance from various sources. The new modulations bring it back to life. Can we keep this one? :)
Antimuslimfoundation 1 It's too bad Merkel has gravely betrayed you and the rest of Europe, may God bless you and Europe in this inevitable Third World War against Islam that is soon to occur.
The original tune to it is an old English drinking song called "Anacreon In Heaven," the official song of a high class British club that did a little bit of singing and socializing--and a whole lot of drinking. So stfu about "keeping it the same".. It's not very American in the first place. Just the words.
It's pretty darned American. I'm not sure why the thought that the tune is the same as an old drinking song means it's not to you, but it's pretty clear you're unfamiliar with how music works.
I know it will never happen but I would love to see the day that the POW / MIA flag could be packed away because all our POW/ MIA have came home. I can wish, Can't I ? Vietnam Veteran 1969 - 70 101st Airborne Call me old school but I like the original song better
I always get a bit nervous when I see all those people on the 4th and very large gathering like that...I am equally glad when things go well and nothing bad happens.
When you step back and really think about our Anthem, you realize that it begins with a question and it also ends with a question. This is very fitting for a country that was founded as an experiment. There is a quest for freedom and equality that is never quite achieved. The USA is always a work in process. Does that star spangled banner yet wave?
I'm what you maybe call a "red", but I f-ing love this piece of music as arranged by the incomparable John Williams and I surely don't hate the US, so: Mind blown?
"America's Greatest Living Composer" That is right on the money.
Brennon Guilbeau ... True, now that Frank Zappa has passed away.
Are you kidding? When it comes to music, John Williams is a legend

I see what you did there

I feel you on that brother; it's a feeling of knowing what the cost is and truly knowing the responsibility it takes to be free.
Joe Ferrebee i hate how divided we become over politics. thank you for your service 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you for your service, I couldn’t serve for medical reasons, but if I could try again I most certainly would.

Red, white and blue tears
I not only love America and its star spangled banner but I love john Williams music just as much
It's official. John Williams makes everything sound 10 times greater than it already was.
Dr Stadler, Dr Grant, welcome to america.
I can only imagine seeing two huge ass dinosaurs with trumps face on one and Hillary clintons on the other, fighting to the death, simply majestic. Brings a tear to my eye.
Best comment in a lot of years!
Lol - he does though 🤣
I love the extra harmonies in this arrangement. Thank you, Maestro Williams.
What a beautiful tune this is, and played with such majesty, love it !!!!

This is actually a rearrangement of his earlier version for the 2004 Rose Bowl - one of my all-time favourites.

😂😆😄 This arrangement is soooo Williams. Pomp, circumstance and little bit of Star Wars.... I LOVE IT!!!!

Williams knocked it out of the park

John Williams turns in Spiritual Hymn every Music He directs and orchestrates. Blessed Him!

Stirring orchestration, beautifully performed!
I love how it sounds different and similar at the same time.
Please rise for the flag and the national anthem of United States .
Sadly today that doesn't happen as much as it used to.
The best rendition I have heard to date.

He most certainly will need to now that Trump is President.

If God bless the atrocities of the US, I am really afraid of what Satan does.

Leave it to John Williams to put in HIS take of our national anthem. LEGEND!!!
Quelle émotion... Ce monumentale... # Love Monsieur John WILLIAMS....
that was beautiful
I got goosebumps listening to this.
10/10 would recommend.
Oh good lord, I must have stepped on a pin in this room full of dust particles where someone must be cutting onions.
When I think I've known sufficiently of Williams' prolific work, then I get surprised, time and again.
John is an angel of our better nature, he will inherit the Earth.
Absolutly beautiful.
Who is this who looks forth as the morning, Fair as the moon, Pure as the sun, Awesome as an army with banners?

Except the tune is from an English drinking song.

The Force is strong with this one....

A fitting and tasteful arrangement.
I was saddened when he didn't include the Imperial March into it somewhere in there.
xD I think the Imperial March would match up more with something more... Japanese. After all, Imperial Army. :P
It's the... It's.. IT'S THE NATIONAL ANTHEM
OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
NOT THE DAMN EMPIRE
HOLY SHIT
"havw" "sewn"
United States, Galactic Empire, isn´t the same?
Yes, I am a rebel scum, against the evil empire.

I could not sing that in such a group, I'm afraid the tears would prevent me

+MrSkypony The message is the same.
Thank you for your service. I share your wish that all POWs and MIAs will be accounted for and returned to America.
I really like the john williams liberty fanfare playing :) (while Bergeron monologues...)

Could someone please fix Maj. Winchester's tie?
Sorry Steven, but thats Colonel Sanders
when did john hammond start conducting
Dude I was so confused by the thumbnail because I thought it was John Hammond too. Lol.
@@Reverse2057 He spared no expense on that thumbnail!
I thought that was him too
John Williams sounds like a 30 year old. I expected his voice to sound a lot rougher.
Somewhere a bald eagle is shedding a tear and shooting something red
Didn't John Williams create star wats
Star Wars
He composed the songs
1.21 gigaWATts!!!
The Star Wars Spangled Banner
Yes

MKIVWWI hey fuck you I believe in socialism, that does not mean I don't love America and its music
I'm a red as in republican... the ones who love the US. I gave this a hearty thumbs up!
Can't be an American if you're a fucking commie
swimmer8585 Uhm. I don't think reality works that way.
John Williams our modern day Beethoven
Check out Jack Stamp's rendition for wind band. For a real lump in the throat and tear in the eye. Too much Hollywood in John William's new version.
i think that kicked ass
THE GOATTTT!!!
John Williams looks like John Hammond... No disrespect, I love his music and Jurassic Park is one of my favorite films/scores.
