This! my aunt once said that we were cursed with our hair texture, mind you I was 18 and was the first girl in my grade (I was a senior in HS) who went natural. Fast forward to me and my cousins in our 30s and 40s, my hair is flourishing and my cousins, my aunts daughters, are both bald due to tension alopecia. Recently the same aunt was giving me praise for having thick beautiful hair while my cousins caught strays because she was talking big 💩 about wigs and weaves and how it stole her daughters hair. I looked at her in shock still remembering what she said to me. It hasn't been outside influences that make us hate our hair for a long time now, its members of our family or friend group who will shame you into hair that's not your own.

10:20 seriously. they act like washing their hair ONCE a week is too much. How? It's literally once in 7 whole days. You can't find the time once? I know things can happen once in a while but to be consistently not taking care of your hair for months is bizarre to me. Unless there's something mental going on then I can understand that, but if not then you can manage to wash weekly. Also detangling should not take hours. And if it's taking hours it's because you're allowing your hair to become so tangled and matted inbetween washes. A lot of these women complaining don't have long hair so they shouldn't be spending the whole day doing their hair. They have really bad technique and I feel like because of their hair hatred and the fact that they envy other people's hair, they refuse to learn how to take care of their hair correctly.
