You can prevent noise reduction from completely destroying your image by using the qualifier tool on the same node to only select certain portions that you want cleaned up. For example, if it's only the shadows and blacks that are noisy, open the qualifier, shut off hue and saturation, and reduce the luminosity to only select the shadows. Your mids and highlights will stay sharp and the lows will be clean!
I've found that applying noise reduction to specific color channels ( RGB ) gives me the cleanest noise reduction.
For example, applying noise reduction to the blue channel ONLY can really clean up that noise while not affecting the red or blue channel at all.
I think the shortcut key to split all the channels separately into nodes on PC is Alt+Y.
I always add another node after and add the smallest amount of sharpening.
Blackmagic is really uping its game lately. Great release, great coverage Joris.
And not making it unafforable and scammy like Adobe
My favorite part of Capture One is the color wheel selection. Having this in resolve is incredible. I'm so pumped.

Joris, Because of your video about Filmconvert Nitrate, I bought this software a few weeks before the release of Resolve 19. Do you know if there is much difference? I personally feel that the quality of Filmconvert Nitrate is much better. Another is the load on the computer. I haven't tested this yet. Maybe a nice idea is to make a video about Filmconvert Nitrate vs DaVinci's Resolve 19 (film look creator). As a company, the price of €116 for Filmconvert Nitrate incl Halation was reasonable.

I came here by way of curiosity while repairing a friends pc (seeing this app on his machine) and after seeing this demo,it makes me want to edit images with DaVinci. This look amazing!!!!

Imagine a scene where an object makes sound moving one side to another, that tracking sound feature is great for something like that so you don`t have to animate the whole sequence!

They did good on the transciption updates. I wish you could have added a speaker because sometimes it recognizes two different voices as the same speaker. Been using it extensively this past week and it has some glitches!

Answer to your first question:
Because they shoot those videos days before, DVR gives them the software before they put up on their website. That's why they release the videos ( they are only allowed to do so) after DVR puts the software up on the website to download.
This is an impressive collection of improvements. Thanks for doing this. One quick question: are these features only in the paid version of Resolve?

I think even one of the main DAW like Ableton does not have this feature like music mixer yet and you need to buy external plugin to do such things.

defocus is not with having in the free version as its such hard work without magic mask, unless you know a workaround......would it be masking?

It's still a beta version. You have to download it from their website and manually install it.

Not a single crash yet here (Mac Studio M1).

It's still a beta version. You have to go to the website and download and install it manually but if you have any active projects, I would wait to install it...

You did not lost the train with updates on davinci 19. why? because you have a different style of tutorials. more explicative, your voice is pefrect for tutorials: is calm, talking like a teacher not like a DJ on radio.
