  • Problems with my omega super charger and how I fixed it with the help of Todd De Orio not Brown of Raptor pneumatics. The increasingly popular ac/dc compressors and the best bang for the buck Yong Heng compressors for those of you who crossed over to the darkside starting out that don’t want to use a hand pump. There are many different brands of compressors on the market. These are the ones I purchased as I talk about the ins and outs of each of these compressors. Here is a link where Todd does a rebuild on the omega compressor

Brother I noticed you didn’t run your omega a while to make sure everything was cooled down before shutting off your machine. After spending that much money on a new machine I would follow all the instructions completely, I really appreciate your patience with the company you bought the machine from the Omega is somewhat slow but a fantastic machine may God bless you and many more years of good luck with your machine!

The yongheng is worth a lot more than any other of these compressors. That omega is so complicated that it isn't user serviceable, you'd think that it was made by Apple.
The yongheng is like the AK, built like a tank, simple, parts are readily available, it just works!
The thing I like about the Chinese is that they know their customers (even if they are half way across the world from them). Back when Ted used to only shoot his Matador, we only wished we had what he had. Now companies like Snow Peak make it possible.

I have the “Mighty Midget” aka Yong Heng also and have no complaints. I have found a way to keep it under 100 degrees F. Small cooler with beer and ice, enough water to cover the pump, a fan, and Royal Purple. Amazing value. I don’t mind the cooling system and getting ice once a week or messing with water. For the money and the speed of fill...0-4350psi 6.8 Liter tank 48 minutes straight never went over 96 Degrees F.👍 Great value.

I'm planning to take 4 of the Yong Heng compressors and and one 240 VAC single phase at 1700 rpm electric motor thru a belt drive and pulleys and turn the compressor 200 to 300 rpm, all water cooled fed to a common plenum into a 98 cu-ft. steel or aluminum tank, like a shop compressor, when the tank pressure drops the compressor kicks on and brings the tank to 4500 psi, so I always have plenty of air for my use as I am making my own line of pistols and rifles, all will be semi-auto with removable magazines.
So that is why the Frankenstein compressor... is needed as I will be using a lot of High Pressure Air.!

The Yong Heng can be bought at Walmart now with a 4 year warranty backed by AllState. Mine is 2+ years old and fills 4 tanks 2Xs a week because my family and I shoot a lot and are supplying air for a bunch of heavy breathers with big lungs. The Omega is nice but as slow as it is may have to run a heck of a lot just to keep us in air. Honestly I don’t think you can beat the Yong Heng for speed and price, parts availability. I mean mostly all the compressors under 2k are made in China anyway, and these distributors are just buying bulk, slapping their label/stickers on them and charging a heck of a lot more for them. Most of these type compressors can be bought from AliExpress and similar sites for several hundred dollars less. Sad to say but true. They are the same damn thing. It sucks but just because these are made in China doesn’t mean they are cheaply made. The hard back version of the Yong Heng is simple, solid, no automatic shut off to go bad. The military had an acronym they used all the time...”KISS”...Keep It Simple Stupid... this applies to the Yong Heng and other things in my life. Less is sometimes more. Just an FYI...Yong Heng means Mighty Midget😂. May not be PC but it is what it is. Great video my friend. Thank you.

I purchased an Omega Air Charger, the no frills model from Air Guns of Arizona on 11-14-20. I reviewed it there as “Grumpaz” on 11-29-20 and updated on 1-7-20, which for some reason didn’t list my name. Fill times and temps can be seen there. Just timed mine with a stopwatch filling the fill whip and the $20 Air Venturi filter on hose end to 4500 psi in 55.66 seconds. I timed the video fill time here at 4 minutes 5 seconds, big difference. I put a vibration activated hour meter on mine when new. A Hardline #HR-8065 that now has 10.2 hours on it. I filled my 75 cu ft tank yesterday from 3000 to 4500 psi in 25 minutes, air tank was 92 degrees F after filling and lost 300 psi after cooling down overnight. I have the original Air Venturi filter on the hose end, still bone dry and snow white. All the water comes out the separator on the compressor. I bought mine after watching Southern Gunners 5 year anniversary videos. No bells or whistles other than auto shut off and no regrets spending the high dollars.

For what it is worth the 220 volt AC Yong Heng compressor does work as it only pulls 6.8 amps, but I have gone through 7 Yong Heng 110 volt AC compressors in less than 3 years and the wiring of the motor keeps shorting out or the wires to the power switch burn in too. one even melted the switch.
I also run 35 degree water, to try and keep the compressor cool, it works for the first 5 minutes then you have to let it cool for about an hour and then you get to run it for 2 minutes at a time with 30 minute cooling cycles, before my last Young Heng dies it took me almost 3 hours to fill my tank to 4000 psi. It never made it to 4500.!
The other issue with the Yong Heng is that it runs so fast it generates a lot of heat and you cannot run it when the temp gets to 60 C. you have to shut it off, or run the risk of burning up the o-ring seals on the piston or seizing the piston in the cylinder, I had a special circuit installed on it's own 20 amp breaker to a 240 volt ac electric heater switch the to a receptacle with 10 AWG wire a max of 6 feet total from the breaker, so power is not the problem it is the cheap wiring they use at the factory.!
Also the Yong Heng runs so hot my Ninja 90 cu-in bottle would get so hot you could not keep you hand on the bottle, and that was a run of less than 5 minutes, and that is not good for carbon fiber bottles no matter the size, I can fill my 90 with my new Omega from zero to 4500 psi and the bottle is just warm enough that I can feel that it is slight warmer than my hand, filling fast will greatly shorten the life of your tanks.

Hi I have the omega compressor and I like you thought it took a long time I'm to get up to pressure I accidentally found out that one of my hoses coming from the compressor to the tank was leaking I've just done the test with the blank in the line 9th and it got 300 bar really quickly so check your Airline coming out of the Omega or replace it and you will find it pumps a lot faster.if it's not the air line then you still have a leak somewhere hope this helps chris from the uk

If you have heat problems with a compressor you should consider the local scrap yard and employing an old air conditioning system from a small car you should have no problems powering it because it is belt drive so will run off any motor. One of these units is capable of cooling the air before reaching the compressor and removing sixty percent of the moisture, It will also cool the water that runs through the compressor

I purchased an omega turbo about 10 months ago... just this week I got around to opening it and setting it up..First time I try using it and it won't even stay on. The water pump turns on but when it comes to the actual compressor, it fails to start.. as soon as I press the green button, the overcurrent protector goes off or sets off, completely turning the whole compressor off.
Called Todd today, after talking for a bit he will be sending me the overcurrent protector switch to replace... we'll see if that does it.

@@airgunspestingch.8426 Hi. Water is running however I have removed the valve with the magnet in it that can shut the machine down, fitted the hose directly to underside of water chamber. removed the two black wires that power the valve. I did run a small magnet up and down the valve and switched it on and it worked. however I switched it off to get my 3 liter bottle prepared to be charged. It would not switch back on, I tried the magnet up and down the valve again, still not working, decided to just remove the valve to cure the problem, alas it is still not working. Press the compressor button it lights green till you remove your finger, no compressor coming on.

Update sir…I just purchased a ac/dc compressor on Amazon with a 3 or 4 year warranty. No questions asked, they pay for the shipping, fix or replace at no cost, for 300$ + 35-40$ for the warranty. Money well spent for a backup or mobile air source. BTW that filter is also on Amazon now for 35$, Gold colored and comes with hose and 2…3 stage filters. I hope the cost of our preferred hobbies/way of life, keeps coming down. Personally, I feel the cost of most HPA/Airguns have been excessive for the most part. Paying 2100$ for a LCS SK-19 and 2K$+ and ongoing upgrades that come out every 3-4 months…must have items to keep up with technology for these guns like FX is a royal pain in the ass. We are the guys that support this industry from all angles and the reduction in cost is very welcome. Bang for buck right now seems to be Air Arms, but FX keeps putting out “GOTTA HAVE IT GUNS TOO”! Will we ever have any money to leave our grandkids???🤣😂🤷‍♂️💯 At least they will have some really cool guns and gear and hopefully a hell of a good time brother. God bless and stay safe my friend.

👋🏾 I did not. My spouse is from the Philippines. I’m retired military since I live in Michigan and don’t like the snow and cold 🥶 I head to the Philippines from November to April. Now I’m not able to go back to the Philippines as my 5 year old son started kindergarten🙁 so now I can only go back when he is on summer break. That is how I am able to bring back airguns from the Philippines keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏾 and not get busted
