Your wife is exactly right that the rifle is not set up for her. I could see she was struggling with getting comfortable on it. As for being out of practice that is Norma so I would get her in a lot closer to her quarry. 250-300 meters off hand for her is a very trying shot. I give her a lot of credit for her efforts to help doing this type animal control. Here is to her👍👍👍🇺🇸🙏🏽😎✌🏻🍻
You’re doing great jasmine. As far as finding your target, I will tell you my dad taught me from the time I started shooting to always keep my eye on my target and bring my optics up to my line of sight. It has helped me tremendously over the years to find my target in the scope. I practice still to this day. I hope that helps!
Jack I really enjoy your site. Especially how conscientious you are with your rifles and your surroundings. You audibly state your actions . Very good to see someone clear the weapon before moving across the rough terrain that you move through. Good after action review with Jasmine. Thanks again. God bless you all. Stay safe and healthy.
This guy is very educated and I find this channel very educational and interesting. I literally just learned about the problem with the feral camels. Never had a clue about this..
It hasn't been that long since I found your channel, but I did see that you only go to town about every 2 weeks and it's about a 3.5 hour drive. From what I've seen Jasmine do, she must have been born and raised way in the outback as well! She's a good mate for you if she's willing and able to help rid the camels and help with the ranch and cattle too. Women like this aren't easy to find nowdays! My son has 4 girls. His wife never liked even liked going scouting with him, but his girls were always out the door to go to the woods with dad! They started hunting as soon as they were old enough to go thru hunter safety course and big enough to carry rifles. They also love fishing too. You don't have to have boys to have outdoor/hunting buds!
Hi , I love watching your videos, I do miss the place and lifestyle.lots of memories, both good and bad. 3 months of being on my own was very challenging and dangerous. You guys have certainly turned things around . Mike Wall
Thanks for sharing your family outing Jack and Jasmine. Great education for the kids. Interesting how many units eco flow send out to TH-camrs to test and promote. I am sure you appreciated having your Dad along to help you out. Water is key out there. I was thinking about the finches in your water trough. One solution might be to have a piece of timber screwed or attached to your cover, which is close to water level for the birds to sit on and drink.
Hi guys, wonderful to see you out with the family taking the young ones out and about absolutely beautiful country. I love the bush. Keep up the good work cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺👨🏻🦽👨🦼
Hey guys, I love your work. You can purchase an aftermarket adjustable cheek riser which might help Jasmine achieve repeatable cheek weld to get her eye positioning correct for her on that rifle depending on the stock you're running. 👍👍👊👊
You gotta get ya misses a Hazel walking stick with deer antler fork on top makes shooting so much easier plus handy having stick with you in bush, you girls are awesome btw really cute proper outback girls
Could the dead camel humps be harvested to render the oil/ fat to use as a fuel in conjunction with diesel engines or alternatively could this fat be used for cooking with or used for lubrication?
Hi Jack. Can I suggest you look at a Bog Pod bipod to assist in steady standing shots. Gets your line of sight up above low shrubs, you have easy swiveling for reposition and following a moving target, and would aid Jasmine with steading the gun weight. I use one extensively in my work, light weight and robust. Enjoy your channel.
Glad i found this channel something to watch ⌚ at nites . Merry xmas to all you do a good job out there so dont listen to Karens in the citys who have nothing better to do than nit pick its there job to make us realise how happy we are haa!
Great seeing you both with the kids out there. Without a bipod or even a sling Jasmin would have a far better time using a stabile supported sitting or kneeling position when shooting.
@klownfish1 made a good point about the eye relief on Jasmines scope. She would certainly benefit from a set of shooting sticks, nothing fancy just two sticks as a bipod adjusted for her height. Also, judging by the way she was holding that rifle and trying to acquire the target you may need to check her dominant eye. She may be right handed but have a left dominant eye.
great to watch you deal with the daily issues do you non return valve on pumps? im still not happy with an annual pull up on my bore to replace the rubber part am looking for a multi stage centrif one day seasons greetings best wishes tim
Sometimes it takes a wee bit of time to back into shooting consistently, if Jasmine hasn't got a rest to use, what about throwing a sling on so she can brace up on target ? Have a good Xmas and New Year 👍
You should get slings. They make it so much easy to walk for long distances if you dont have to old a gun the whole time. Also you can use your hands without having to set the rifle down.
Do you ever utilise using a drone not only would it be easier for you to keep track of the camels but would also give the viewer an overview of the ground action
Is that a blast chamber on your pump action? Are you guys not allowed to use comps, bipods, shooting sticks, or slings, If not why aren't you using them to increase accuracy and follow-up shots?
Would a carbon fibre monopod for the missus be considered helpful ? No disrespect intended at all. Just thinking about reducing sway, which anyone would benefit from.
= ) happy to have brought it up ! I know that holding up a rifle for a clean accurate shot can sometimes take just that little bit longer than the muscles agree to co-operate for... And, especially in your case, that clean shot can avoid a long walk in an inhospitable place.@@jack_out_the_back
Hey Jack, thanks for sharing another day in the life of. Really enjoying it. I think Jasmine needs to work on her shouldering of the rifle. She seems to be leaning back, rather than "into" the shot (could be an eye relief issue). 20 or so rounds on a range and maybe a scope adjustment will sort that out. Thanks again
Hi Jack. Love the videos, have a look at quad sticks, it’ll increase your kill to shot ratio. It’s like shooting with bipods on but you’re in the standing position. Truly love watching the work you guys do. 👍🏻 ( 🏴)

I always remember my instructor on the comms course (navy) saying over and out is an invitation to speak and no longer speaking. Yes either over or just out 😅
Just to make your life a bit easier is not to open the tap completely but when you get it fully open close it half a turn will make it easier to close .
G'day Gang. How about a new rifle for a chrissy pressy and maybe a tripod to help with balance for Jasmine and then practise, practise. Mate, that Inox can be used for drilling and tapping, Dewatering and de salting, spraying on your fishing gear even on the mono line and all your lures to stop them rusting and if it didn't taste oily you could use in your cuppa it is the bestest stuff ever.
Hi Jack, I noticed as you were driving you and your wife had seatbelts on but not your kids. As a disabled person that lost the use of my legs from being run over and the people that I have met that have lost the use of their legs etc. in car accidents were not wearing a seatbelt.
Well... It isn't like there's 20 other cars on the roads out where they are driving! They're also in the outback where the roads are too rough to go more than 20 mph AND they are looking for camels, so they probably aren't even going 20 mph! I always see the girls buckled in when the cars are moving. The girls have been taught how to buckle/unbuckle their seats. Both Jack and Jasmine are very safety conscience when it comes to guns, driving and their girls!!
Jack can you fit a 3 point sling to the speedline to make it a little easier for Jasmine ? or a monopod I know my tikka is too heavy to reliably throw up off hand for long periods.
I absolutely loved this take the family to work day!!! Hey Jack is the optic on the speed line luminated? This might help Jasmine when trying to locate and identify the target. My son had a hard time when he started out using an optic and then he used one of mine and it was a game changer on the range and in the field! Again, thanks for sharing the family and day. Well wishes to you all and Merry Christmas! Walter
I don’t believe it is illuminated I do believe the wedgetail pump ar is illuminated tho but he don’t use it don’t hold me to that 💯 just going of memory of the setup vid on the wedgetail ❤
Hey Jack get a set of shooting sticks for the wife. Jasmin posture looks like she may be struggling with the rifle length/weight. It may not help at all but it may be a little boost for her confidence. Good content those camels must be in plague proposition
Sorry mate I just got to read some of the messages and see this is a common observation. My partner uses a savage axis and finds it a good fit for her and in 7mm 08 it is probably a bit light for camels but the ballistic tips drop large red deer in one go. Pretty expensive but if getting good results it can help that confidence.
Shooting what You're used to can make a big difference. I can hit much better with my friends bolt action 12 gauge and my savage 16 gauge A5 better than any other i have tried. About even. Close second is my uncles coach shotgun, 12 gauge. I have a few favorite rifles, nylon 66, 22 cal. Savage lever 243. Old military 30:06 my dad gave to me. I think it was a 1903 Springfield.
