Even with interrupted-cycle and pump-action systems, you have to change hold between shots, which means you can't transition instantly and consistently from one target to the next. Semi-auto enables this. You can see how quickly the camels can move off into the bush. Under pressure to connect before the camels are out of shot, Jack tries to compensate for the mechanical handicap by paring back his aiming time. Often this causes him to miss. Semi-auto would give him back the extra half second of aiming time between shots that's often the difference between missing and killing. Jack and Danny have to travel many miles and commit many hours to getting the camels in the cross hairs for a few brief seconds, so anything that lets them make the most of that investment and those time constraints is valuable. It is worse than stupid to handicap such dedicated and skilled workers In this way.
Yeah, they’re fighting to try to get semi auto. I Truely hope they can. But to be fair to them they are getting some good work done with the bolts and pumps.
