Ah, you re a mad bugger Jack 🙂 "Or if you accidentally drop it somewhere like into a trough ... so you can rescue it". Wet myself laughing and when I showed the wife she did too. Love it. Oh, and Merry Christmas and a great new year to the Prenti Downs family.
Jack, my old granddad once told me that after WW1 the government were worried about how the countries populace were well arms trained, and the government were concerned over the populace acquiring firearms. Its the same old story, Governments worry over their populace owning firearms that they can control, but have no idea of how to control illegal firearms owned and used by the gangs on the streets of cities. Every firearm incident that is illegal the government slap yet another ban on legal owned firearms. Fact, our governments cannot see the wood for the bloody trees. Keep fighting Jack, in the end you never know, you might win. Jack, are AIRLESS TYRES ANY GOOD "OUT THE BACK"?
Hi Jack. Seasons Greetings. Hope you have a great family day Christmas day. Can I make some suggestions that might help improve the cage trap effectiveness: Put some cardboard or old carpet over the cage mesh up the treadle and sprinkle soil/leaf litter from the site on that. Secondly, throw an old sack over the whole trap, so it becomes like a tunnel. This seems to allay the animals natural caution. Thirdly, use a spray bottle with fish oil to spray a scent trail to the trap and up to the treadle, over the previously installed cardboard or carpet base. Good luck.
Merry Christmas happy new to you your dad and family and everyone that on these episode's thanks for sharing your experiences look forward to seeing more in the new year
Merry Christmas and happy New Year. I am from the USA and I am retired from farming. I am amazed that your cows survive in the environment you live in. I guess the livestock adapt to their environment and eat what is available. Always enjoy your program.😊
Looks like the best season for veg growth and water supplies for decades. Good work re the cats. All the best for Christmas and New Year to you and yours Jack.
Merry Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New Year to all of you. From the Isle of Skye Scotland. A friend i know teaches rats that he catches. How to swim in an enclosed space!!
All the happy wishes for you and your family during the holidays, however and whichever you celebrate! Also, I LOVE your usage of "Moo-cows" (How to tell if you have children without saying you have children). 😅
Complements of the seaon and a prosperous 2025 to you and your family, Jack. Same here in UK, ask government for data upon what they base thier decisions, and there is none. All hearsay, and the flavour of the month. Living at the seaside, I've often wondered how far out to sea you'd have to take a cat before they'd need rescueing. Big Steve, UK.
Very hard to find any wise men in government anywhere in AUS Jack , so you have set yourself a big a big task.😁. I hope you and the family have a great Xmas and new years. Stay safe. 🎄🎅🇦🇺. pS green feed and water in December !!! How good 👍
Continue to put out to your regular correspondents each week as I do mate . It releases the mind and soul of all that tension building . Farmers and ranchers Jack has a passion to the community spirit and do what he can to ease the rural protection of unwanted feral animals . City people want these new laws because of high power rifle laws in their areas !.
You are so right Jack. Biodiversity is the key to all healthy life on this planet and as we destroy it one way or another, we hasten our own extinction. Basic High School biology.
Love ya vids and content mate. Thank you for your efforts during 2024. Best wishes to you and the lovely fam, take care and looking forward to further growth for “perrenti” in 2025 mate
Hi Jack, firstly I want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I found this cat traps I used to used Devon Sausage and they absolutely go crazy over there anyway you know what you’re doing. I don’t have to tell you how to do your job Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia. I’m on the big island
Merry Christmas to you all at Prenti downs. Jack just wondering if it would be worth carrying a telescopic ladder in the ute to make those tank inspections easier. It could fit in the Savana too. Cheers and best wishes. Trev
Are there any local plants, shrubs etc that can be propagated artificially to give nature a helping hand? (or started under cages) I remember an Australian scientist said/ claimed the outback ground was getting too hot & dry in summer for the successful growth of the young stages of some plants. Nitto Trail Grappler M/T and Maxxis MT 772 Razr would be two other brands (among several) of the same size to try.
Hey Jack, hi from South Africa, commented plenty on your channel. I hope you and Jasmine and your girlies have an amazing christmas. I am a cat lover and have two moggies that are African Wildcat crosses. I however do not tolerate Feral cats and to be sure neighbours dogs but that is a different thing!!!!!!!!!!i take out ferals when i can, Jackal and Caracal are deemed Problem Animals so yeah. Keep well bro and keep doing what you are doing, you are doing an amazing job.
All the best for the festive season to you and yours As a kid growing up on a station in Central Queensland the only two things I was allowed to shoot willy nilly were cats and pigs the pigs were worth 2/6 p for the snout and tail ( that’s 2 shillings and 6 pence about 50 cents ) lol Kangaroo skins were 6 bob a pound dry A long time ago I enjoy the vids keep on keeping on Cheers JimP Kangaroos were worth
Merry Christmas to yourself and your beautiful family Jack 🎄🙂 As far as bringing back biodiversity and replenishing your watersheds, have you considered creating obstacles and small ponds along your watercourses, to slow down run off and retain moisture? You touched on it in the hail storm video, about using dead trees to slow down the flow of water during a heavy downpour. There are some very successful examples of regeneration of watersheds here in NSW. Check them out.👍 Best wishes for 2025
Hi, I have just found your channel and in an episode ‘cleaning up after dog baiting’, you mentioned a waterhole containing heaps of bird life with the desire for people to identify the birds. Can you direct me to that episode so I can have look. Ta and merry Christmas
Hi there your thinking about a switch for the pump how about an arduino or esp32 wich is an arduino with WiFi so could be connected to the network programmed with a timer or hear in the UK we have light switches that have a timer on for communal areas so they automatically switch off so by the time you realise you forgot it's already off
Love the channel. What is the issue with the cat? Looks much like a feral cat perhaps in the US. Basically a house cat? If not, I apologize, just unsure of this issue.
To get the land more productive we need more CO2 in the atmosphere. That way the plants lose less moisture by not opening their stomata so much. They are doing the plant variety of gasping at the moment.
You guys have so many issues with your water gauge on your tanks. ,, try a 4 inch piece of PVC drill holes in it and drop it to the bottom of the tank and let it stick out the top a little bit and then take a 2 inch piece of PVC and put a cap on either end of that 2 inch PVC and drop the 2 inch down inside of that four-inch piece and use that as your water gauge .no more bind Ps I hope you have a merry Christmas you and your family
LOL Jack, 5M+ camels dropping dung every day but yet they tell you its your problem and force you to deal with it as a farmer on their rented land, but you can't "try" to grow additional crops because it might affect the ecosystem....crazy....not hard to see and understand your frustration!!!
On a note. This is why I would promote biochar from the bones as in locations like the one you were discussing the soil microbial condition would benefit from everything BioChar offers. Mycelium sustainability, moisture retention alone is enough to support flora within such a harsh environment. It is also a natural product that occurs after fires so it’s not fertilizer or a non-natural product that would require permission. Meow Meow trap off the ground would stop the lizards, preventing the gate from being hit upward and the cat walking on top of the gate as well. Set two traps in the same location. No person that respects native fauna enjoys feral cats within the natural environment. 🫡✨☮️🇦🇺

Merry Christmas from Montana. My grandfather hated feral cats. He said they destroyed the song birds in southern Minnesota in the early 1900's.
Happy Christmas to you and your family Jack.
Cheers from a snowy New Brunswick, Canada (eh)

always turn the ends of your conduits over so the ends point down, so nothing points up and water cant get in.

Jack, been in Game Capture for decades.
If you have a spray bottle with water, spray that soil where you have stood. It gets rid of human scent.
I like the dual microphhone redundancy idea a lot 👏✌️
Spectacular growth there jack
Best bet would be to accidently drop it in the trough to cool it off on a 40 c day// Merry Xmas to you and the family mate.
Merry Christmas. Just curious as to how many salt blocks have to be deployed over the vast expanse to satisfy the needs of the cattle.
All the best to you and the family mate.
