Being a rhythm nerd, this song excites me so much! I finally figured it out. Most of the track is in 29/16, divided into 7/8 and 15/16. However at 1:56 there is a combination of 29/16 and 31/16, divided into 7/8+15/16 and 7/8+17/16 respectively. What really blew my mind is both the intro and the outro, and some parts in between where the 29/16 is divided into four; 7/16, 7/16, 8/16 and 7/16! For example from 4:37 onward. At first this sounded like a faster irregular 4/4, with the melody staying exactly the same, which really messed my brain up! Extremely cool track!
@@ccenda3109 what he is saying is that each bar of music has 29 16th notes in it though because 29 notes is faily difficult to count well playing its decided in to a section of 7 8th notes and 15 16th notes and at a point in the song he cages the time signature to 31/16 or 31 16th notes per bar of music which he decides in to 7 8th notes and 17 16th notes. hope that helped
So smooth, so jazzy and clean, so lyrical and - OHHHHH, YEAAAH - so thick and crunchy that it might be good to have your teeth cleaned after listening. Perfect, pure joy.
Man. I love that you slowly change your style and add in new concepts without compromising your original sound. The jazz shit goes deep into my stomach and I feel is on the verge of causing spontaneous combustion.
I love this new kind of jazzy sound. I would also love to hear an acoustic EP with songs like paper moon and handmade cities. Please make it happen and keep up the good work Plini!
The problem with this is I only get one like to give.... I think one of the coolest things in life is occasionally, in every endeavor, you get a front row seat to someone’s evolutionary process. You get to experience the journey with them, and for better or worse you’ll always associate those moments to times in your own life. I am so stoked to be witnessing/ enjoying/ partaking in Plini’s evolutionary process... Killer music. Feeling epic...
I feel like Plini is only one in the genre who is consantly evolving, and always doing something a bit different. Great work on this EP, and thank you for the music!
So wonderful. The You Tube algorithm said, i think this guy needs some new inspiring tunes. Thank you Plini and everyone involved in this work. The sound is fantastic. Any future dates in Chicago or Milwaukee would be amazing. I don't care when.. Going to pick this CD up in my next few clicks. Thank you for being present with us.
Plini you really give me inspiration to keep playing. I've been playing for over 10 years but here recently I feel I have stagnated as a guitarist and your music really helps me find new pathways to continue on. This song in particular gives me some Holdsworth vibes, but all of them just have something special. I can't wait for you to come to Seattle again. Keep up the fantastic work!
The bit you're referring to is actually a guest solo by the amazing Tim Miller. I recommend checking him out. He's got a number of album tracks uploaded as well as quite a few live videos.

Kalkaanuslag I really need help with all these 29/16 and all that shit 🤦🏻♂️
what are u talking about dude, it sounds interesting
Damn I was close. I thought it was 15/8, while my brothers thought it was 4/4 (I was only one sixteenth note off, god damnit)

Thanks, dude
Simons bass tone is just too damn good. You’ve done it again Plini, great EP!
Simon goes OFF in that bass solo!!! DAYUMMMM
So smooth, so jazzy and clean, so lyrical and - OHHHHH, YEAAAH - so thick and crunchy that it might be good to have your teeth cleaned after listening. Perfect, pure joy.

OH MAN, THAT WAS SO ALLAN, OMG, I WILL DIE
Simon, Bravo to you and your god like talents! Your performance is as incredible as your mixing ability. Congratulations on creating pure magic!
You're excellent. I'm learning songs on guitar, but I might need to take a break and learn all your stuff first.
bass mu enak tenan mas, puleenn
Absolutely massive track and some of the tastiest bass work I've heard in recent prog releases!
No kidding, these cats are outstanding
@Evan Burns Ended up doing a quick cover of the bass solo!

Might be the best track I’ve ever heard from you Mr. Plini, speechless
This is genius, honestly my new favorite song. I love the Holdsworth influence as well
Let it be known, in my moment of stress, your "music" are my medicine
Yep, everything seems okay when Plini comes through the speakers
I love this new kind of jazzy sound. I would also love to hear an acoustic EP with songs like paper moon and handmade cities. Please make it happen and keep up the good work Plini!

Plini's new album comes out so today is a holiday ❤️
Suraj Saha You're right! I was wondering why all these songs were out and then I realized, time zones!

Killer music.
Feeling epic...
Woah he’s really going jazz on this ep! Cool
His first couple of EPs are even more so.
The clean chords and Holdsworthian solo are Tim Miller, who, yeah, check him out immediately.
Abso-flippin-lutely!
Is for Tim Miller
Crazy time signature, like 29/16... 6 groups of sixteenths and a 7th group of 5 sixteenths, in general
I feel like Plini is only one in the genre who is consantly evolving, and always doing something a bit different. Great work on this EP, and thank you for the music!
Plini for president!
You hear the Glockenspiel synth which supports certain notes of guitars? you hear ? :')
WHEN IS THE NEXT PLANET GEISHA COMING OUT DUDE?!
This one is actually so beautiful
Simon Grove is a beauty :')
This sounds so good. Both musically and production wise.
I hope this guy Plini makes money like the old rock stars. In that case he at least is one that deserves it...

This album is really insane... I really love the sound of Simon Grove on this
This is goergeous
This is by far my favourite Plini record
Tim Miller's solo at 2:26 is amazing, how has such an amazing guitarist managed to avoid my radar for so long?
Really good stuff.
Plini snagging those last notes of simons solo, nice work my dudes 👍
Great stuff - Tim Miller solo is killer as one would expect.
I love the subtle nods to "Kind" in this piece. Gah, your music is the best.
This EP sounds like how coffee tastes. I love it.
Just bought the EP and am giving it a first spin. Classic Plini so far. Nothing to complain. Ha!
Favourite track on the EP for sure.

this piece of music is simply astonishing!
Tim miller man no words ♥️♥️
Love the bass sound
The best Djazz album i’ve ever heard
Plini is the only band I've heard that combines really heavy nasty djent bass with a nice melodic guitar. This band was made for me
It's not a band, the guitarist is actually named plini.
Holy shit!! Tim Miller!!
QUE SOM DE GUITARRA PLINI, VC É O CARA.
A lot of holdsworth influences!
That's Mr Tim Miller, he's GOD
Came here to make this exact same comment!
YES!
Tim Miller is just disgusting.
I can't stop smiling while listening to this. :')
That bass at 1:57 just puts me away. Absolutely beautiful.
Man this ep is so creative! I love it!

A lot more Simon and a lot more technical jazz on this album. I really dig!

Definitely living up to his Australian brethren 'Brett Garsed' 🎸🎶🔥
