      Mine just stopped last week. The piston stucked so bad,I couldn't even crank it. I will order a kit online, hopefully it'll work. Did You order original parts or after market? Thank You for your video, Brother ❤

    Enjoyed the video. Thanks for taking the time to make it.👍
    Just incase someone doesn’t know, theres at least two versions of this cylinder for 128LD. (I may have missed it where you mentioned this) One uses paper gasket the other uses rubber gaskets. If you have the rubber gasket be sure to get the correct cylinder because it has
    grooves recessed where the rubber gaskets inset.
    If you buy the wrong cylinder the rubber gaskets will cause the cylinder to not set flush and make the proper seal.
    Just sharing this almost got me, so thought I’d pass it along👍

      Reluctant update, you’ll see why:
      I tore mine apart, I cleaned sprayed and put it all back together, no start but it was making a chopping sound so I knew I had something wrong, I quit to go take a shower and as soon as the water hit my face I knew what I did. There’s a rubber seal on both ends of that crank, when I put it back together I had left that seal on the pull start side outside of the head, thus no crank case pressure, so I tore it apart again, put it back together and no start with the same sound, tore it apart again and I had left the other seal outside the head on the crank, 3 times is a charm they say. It fired right up when I corrected my mistakes, THEN it quit and wouldn’t start, found that my new fuel line was curled up outta the gas. I QUIT, at least till tomorrow. 😅😅😅😅😅

    Arrow on piston points to exhaust. It's easier if you put one clip in piston before installing wrist pin/onto connecting rod. Oil all the parts so you don't have a dry start
    a touch of gasket adhesive on cylinder seals helps tremendously Indian Head woks great

    • @RayFixesAll

      I do know that from building bike engines but this one didn't have one printed on piston so I just matched up the alignment pin for the ring to old one worked out good been useing it runs great

    • @russellkerfoot5423
      @russellkerfoot5423 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it did it can be seen in your vid thats why I said you have put it with the arrow pointing to the inlet port. It is to to do with the balance of the piston to the Crankshaft. The crank as a counter balance weight has dose the piston they must be in tune with each other or it will Destroy the Crank & Piston & Bearings.

    Can you provide a link to the Ebay store where you bought this kit? My weed eater (128LD) has two rubber gaskets at the bottom of the cylinder and I am having a hard time finding one online. All the ones I am seeing have a flat bottom with no gasket between the cylinder and the crankcase (maybe not necessary?). Thanks!

    • @RayFixesAll

      @tommyluck19 start with high and low screw turned from the seated position one and a half turns out after machine warms up then bring the low side screw in or out until you get a nice running engine then press down on the throttle all the way and adjust your high screw until the engine runs nice hope this helps

    My new piston ring is quite a bit stiffer than the original and it's super tough to seat in the cylinder without a ring compressor. Anyone have any tips?

      Not sure I didn't use one just my hands

    • @PJM454
      @PJM454 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Figured it out. I put the ring in upside down. Had a 50/50 chance of getting it right but got unlucky. Noticed on the old ring that where the ring comes together, the end of each ring is sloped. You want that slope to be sloping upwards ( \ / ) towards the top of the piston like a "V" and it will pop in nicely otherwise the piston will not go in.

    Did exactly what you done, changed the piston and a new aftermarket carb. It won't start, what could it be?

    • @RayFixesAll
      @RayFixesAll  ปีที่แล้ว

      If all gaskets are good then adjust carb or get a new one probably gas issues or make sure you have spark could be bad magneto

    • @anrivera1975
      @anrivera1975 ปีที่แล้ว

      @RayFixesAll new spark, new carb, new fuel lines, and new piston. You had a problem at the beginning, and then you adjusted the carb. Can you let me know how many turns you did?

    • @RayFixesAll
      @RayFixesAll  ปีที่แล้ว

      Start with the high and low one and a half turns out from seated that should get it running for you it'll be rough you have to adjust it from there you have to listen to the RPMs and adjust

    • @anrivera1975
      @anrivera1975 ปีที่แล้ว

      @RayFixesAll I tried the adjustment HI and LOW, one and a half turn on both, and no luck. I suspect the spark plug doesn't spark, but why?

    • @RayFixesAll
      @RayFixesAll  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have somebody put their finger that the brave it doesn't hurt that bad over the spark plug and see if it's Sparks it'll shock them if it does then you have spark if it doesn't then you have something wrong with the spark which indicates placement is wrong spacing on the magneto or the magneto is bad
