Saturday Afternoon Train Chase - Part 1

On a beautiful afternoon in January, I waited about two hours and finally got a shot of this train at Highland, Colorado.
Part 1
It was about 3:00PM with the sun starting to get low in the western sky. I was waiting on the east side of the track so, I wasn't sure how good the lighting was going to be with the sun so low. I shot the train anyway and it turned pretty good after all.
Part 2
The chase is on!!! I wanted to get on the west side of the tracks to get another shot of this train. So I sped up the highway and got ahead of it as the train was entering south Loveland, Colorado. I knew I had a good chance of getting ahead because I knew the train had to slow before it got to the downtown area. I found a good spot near the 7th Street crossing and got the camera ready. The train was just entering downtown at that point. Got a great shot with the sunshine gleeming off of the locomotives. Pretty cool!
Not a bad train chase for a Saturday afternoon!
