Yeah it's a good scene though the concept that a side would send out a raid and not alert their own sentrys is a bit of a stretch, mildly unrealistic tbh. Also the guy wearing a gas mask looks cool sure. Though it would be uncomfortable, harder to breathe in and hampered vison. Definitely not something you would wear if you didn't have to, let alone go to a fight in lol

@@user.91721Nobody wants hand to hand combat especially during and since WW1 when modern combat became a thing. Hand to hand is probably so fucking terrifying especially during WW1 when it was just absolute brutal.
It's not the fact that man cannot think for himself, you see the intelligence of all parties involved, knowing that shooting will inevitably get all of them killed. But it's the fact that instead of just turning around and walking away these men are committed to the ideologies of their nations, or at the very least the will to survive. Both parties know returning unsuccessfully is not an option, which could lead to punishment or even execution. The hallmark of this scene is that there are no stoic heroes amongst the group, even the German with the Gas mask and the Gauntlet spike(Which I'm not entirely sure why he's wearing a Gas mask for a night raid) is breathing anxiously. I wish there were some war movies like this on the Italian theatre, specifically the Arditi that would be hella dope.
I mean if I saw two Germans wearing gas masks in the middle of No Man's land at night and how they dressed as well, I would absolutely be scared to encounter them including the guy wearing bulky armor while carrying a hammer.
Looking this vid after learning about the "Trench Raid" during WW1 make it a lot more real! Some people really live those kind of moments during WW1! This doesn't happen only on TV! It's insane! Incredible movie scene! Well King's Man are pretty good at it!
Yea ww1 trench warfare is probably the most brutal trench warfare we've seen many because of the machine gun. We hadn't adapted yet to such rapid firing weapons so they co tinued fighting in old formations.....just a straight meat grinder
During a trench raid (or even during these night endevours) they would grab a pistol, and like 5 grenades each. If you get into more danger than you can handle, toss a grenade and hastily sneak back to your own side. It's a cool movie, but no one would fight "just to fight" like this, especially choosing a melee battle lol
Ah yes , that time of the year when you and your cousins go for the spoils of the new year dinner and you find the children of the other side of the familly...
Best scene in the movie. All the amazing setup that the protagonist is great with knives, that they can't make noise, knowing its going to be a kingsmen fight scene. Them kneeling towards eachother was such a great moment knowing what was about to happen.
Not sure if I've seen a proper night trench raid in a ww1 film before. Granted, this _is_ a little fantasized given an exchange like this probably never happened but it's still well done. Realisitic use of knives and IMPROVISED melee weapons.
@@Year_of_the_Dellwell, night raid party's from both sides definitely is unlikely, but due to how large scale the conflict was, I have reason to believe something like this happened at least once during WW1
While night "raids" (like attacks at the enemy trench or sentries) weren't too common, doing sneaky things during the night definitely were. Wether recon to see what the enemy were up to, repairing or putting up obstacles like barbed wire in no man's land, or cutting through the enemy's such obstacles, there was a lot going on at night.
What I'm thinking is, did those 5 poor boys who not really volunteered are really prepare for this sudden trench raid and melee combat. Lord have mercy.

Okay, there seem to be a lot of people who somehow completely missed the point of this scene, so allow me to rectify some incorrect opinions: This is NOT a gentleman’s agreement to a hand-to-hand duel where both sides agree to be honorable enough to not use guns. Not in the slightest. This is purely for pragmatic reasons. The soldiers aren’t idiots; they know that, should they attract any attention from either line of trenches by being loud, they’ll be both spotted and, most likely, mowed down by machine guns of either side. Fighting in close combat at least gives both squads a fighting chance to silence their opponents and continue with their mission. Can’t believe I even have to explain this.

@@ym6294 bro you use laughing emojis unironically and are loling at your own comebacks. This ain't tik tok. There's no more cringe left to give cause you took it all. And only an idiot tries to make every individual soldier shoulder the crimes of the few and the politics of the nation. War isn't like your fallout or star wars movies kid there is no honor in it period, it's literally you and your comerades life or theirs. Theres no honor in bombing cities and homes but every nation in both world wars did indiscriminately because theres no choice. Come back when youre 18 or older and have the braincells to realize a portrait photo of a historical figure isn't someone acting tough.
@@ym6294that’s exactly what it was, because as soon as a shot is fired, both parties would be fired upon by both sides, cuz no one knows if they are allied or not
Absolute best hand to hand combat scene ever.
Imagine Feeling The Anxiety & Adrenaline of This Battle
This is how you do action that's equal parts suspenseful, stylized, grounded, fun. Perfect concept, perfect execution.
Ok, there are a lot problems in this scene: helmets without cloth covers shining in the moonlight, pointless gas mask, mp18 in the middle of 1916... But who cares, it's still an amazing scene, and I love it.
The gas masks made their breathing more quieter so the French resistance that they we’re fighting couldn’t hear them as well so they sneak attack them
@@mggoootheboss they're in a British sector of nomansland
Yeah it's a good scene though the concept that a side would send out a raid and not alert their own sentrys is a bit of a stretch, mildly unrealistic tbh.
Also the guy wearing a gas mask looks cool sure. Though it would be uncomfortable, harder to breathe in and hampered vison. Definitely not something you would wear if you didn't have to, let alone go to a fight in lol
The mp18 caught me off-guard aswell.Aside from it even being there, If they all had rifles and pistols, the "shhh" would make sense. He could easily wipe them out with that one mag but yeah, movies.
Prior to this scene had a ballet fight with Rasputin. I don't think historical accuracy should be considered here, lol
One of the most badass fights scenes ever
Now thats a FKN movie.
Specially this scene it was epic and bluddy brutal.
It was very tense watching this in theatres
@@drd675 went to the theatres as well. Do you know if there is a reupload in better quality
it's a shame that the movie wasn't that well received both critically and box office, i personally love this movie, not only this scene but the entire movie
@@diskmort I can't understand why they don't like it
This scene was TENSE AF in the cinema. The silence then the music kicking in. It’s PERFECT !
Imagine agreeing with your enemy to engage in hand to hand combat
Well, they would have been gunned down by the mounted turrets behind the trenches
thats honor kid imagine using guns
Wearing a gas mask during a melee fight seems like an awful idea 😂
hand-to-hand fights in no man's land existed and were a complete horror to those who faced each other
this is one of the best scenes i have seen in a film. It was beautiful
@@gronizherz3603 Indeed
Ah yes , that time of the year when you and your cousins go for the spoils of the new year dinner and you find the children of the other side of the familly...
To be honest...I wouldn't have the courage to be in a knife fight like this, let alone fighting with swords, machetes, and no gun!!!! 😂
I would just tell the boys to take cover and then shoot the mf with the submachine gun and then duck before the machine guns start singing.
This scene really pulls you in and makes you kinda feel like you’re there, at risk of getting stabbed.
That flying tackle by the second German was awesome
Best scene in the movie. All the amazing setup that the protagonist is great with knives, that they can't make noise, knowing its going to be a kingsmen fight scene. Them kneeling towards eachother was such a great moment knowing what was about to happen.
what is the movie's name and date of production? All the King's men 1999?

literally my favorite and probably the only scene that I like from these movies
Begging for mercy while your 2 buddies simultaneously stab my friend to death in front of me is crazy😂😂😂
This scene is easily one of, if not, the best, trench fight ever filmed, holy shit.
Awesome Scene
Trench and hand to hand warfare has always been brutal..This scene captures perfectly the horrors of WW I
Not sure if I've seen a proper night trench raid in a ww1 film before. Granted, this _is_ a little fantasized given an exchange like this probably never happened but it's still well done. Realisitic use of knives and IMPROVISED melee weapons.
Night raids did happen but were if what little was reported is to be believed have any credance they were a mixed bag of results
That's a hell of a fight scene, every detail is magnificient. Good job.
What I'm thinking is, did those 5 poor boys who not really volunteered are really prepare for this sudden trench raid and melee combat. Lord have mercy.
Incredibly realistic movie in general, attention to detail difficult to fault. A real surprise for me.
wasnt expecting them to respect history and make a cool action scene at the same time, good job
Bro at the end broke the fight rules of the friend group and payed the fatal toll 💀
Omfg I love this scene so much, it shows so much accuracy about if they use their guns they are dead, so this just brings a whole new edge watcher.
definitely one of the best fight scenes in cinema
“War is young men dying and old men talking.”
Esta pelea enserio me encantó, porque ambos lados eran conscientes de la situación, una situación de combate cuerpo a cuepo que se siente tan real, es una escena bien hecha, logra transmitir la crudeza.
God this scene was amazing
Badass scene, but I'm sure if this happened in real life they would simply go around each other. Nobody wants to die because of a chance meeting in no-man's land.
You'd be surprised of what people did during world war 1. Its honestly unbelievable first time hearing it
@@quanage4296 Agreed, I've read a lot of WWI history
This is where having a spear would actually be an advantage
German with the gas mask and screw on gauntlet with knife would be what Kroenen from Hellboy would be like if he were real
This scene fucked me up hard
Love how that guy begs for his life but wouldn’t spare the other guys life if the shoe was on the other foot 😂
Мне его жаль
people show you their true colours when theyre about to die
"I dont want to die" vs "I have no issue killing"
Supercool, I love it, thx mate!
Okay, there seem to be a lot of people who somehow completely missed the point of this scene, so allow me to rectify some incorrect opinions:
This is NOT a gentleman’s agreement to a hand-to-hand duel where both sides agree to be honorable enough to not use guns.
Can’t believe I even have to explain this.
one of my favorite scenes ever
Such a cool concept
This is one of my favorite battle scenes of all time 💯
Nome ??
Bro imagine what was going through their heads🤯
GREAT scene from a very underrated movie
This is the only really solid, great and memorable sequence from this movie. The rest of it was schlock imo.
When your class meets a class from the rival school at your quiet, small town library:

Very honorable of those two germans to wait until the british dude was finished with his german.
What makes it more terrifying is that the Germans have gas mask so u don’t even really see who is killing ur friend or u
Esta escena es excelente desde el punto de vista tecnico-artistico hasta conceptual se nos muestra lo brutal que es la guerra.

It's a pretty scary scene just imagine this though in real life happening to you 😳
Best part for me was when the Officer made the ultimate decision to save his fellow squadmate.
There wasn't a hint of hesitation even though he knew that he would be immediately shot if you used his Revolver.
Truly Dedicated to his Men.
As ridiculous as the spiked gauntlet looks, those were actually used in WW1. Some of the melee weapons that came into use in trench warfare were really sadistic.
a simple spike like that (basically a dagger that also protects your hand/forearm) is a lot less sadistic than a blunt weapon or a blade with saw teeth.
Doesn't look ridiculous, only a kid who thinks katanas are the best weapons ever made would believe that.
Es buenísima esa escena
Muy bueno.
This is incredibly visceral!
Most beautiful scene ever.
The craziest thing about this, is that it happened and keeps happening on the battle fields 💀 ☠️ 💀
I remember while watching this scene on my computer ,i was telling myself i should have gone to the theater.
This is hands down one of the best scenes in all of cinema/movies.
