After the buff this is now the best heavy thrusting sword imo. It's the longest, has bleed and also an ash that benefits from 2 talismans while also serving as a dodge for increased mind-games. What's not to love?
I might be stupid, but what's the 2nd talisman it benefits from? Does the axe talisman work on the l2 r2?

Right? haha there's just something about the combat pacing and weight that to me makes it more tense than faster paced games combined with the beautiful art direction and smexy fashion, it's wonderful.

The weapon art really does justice to the finesse part of the name, it's really elegant and allows for some pretty damn impressive plays.
Before, it felt like the Helice AoW was just meant to look fluid and dynamic. Now it really is that. Welcome home, Helice.

I honestly love this weapon when paired with the Reduvia. Not only do you have the cosplay setup, you also have a ranged ash for pressure and the offhand dagger for quick hits and mixups

The R2 cancel attack works as a backstep, you can R1 just like a normal backstep attack.
Gotta wonder why all weapons don’t have as much depth as thrusting swords. Curved swords are close with their mix ups and backflip faint but thrusting swords are in a league of their own
@@Reign_PaladinofVengeance It was also a concept in DS3, also for thrusting and curved swords. It basically got ported over.
I would have liked to see a similar mechanic for other weapons.
Last time I played through Elden Ring I was using this. That ash thrust has a lot more *oomph* than I remember.
TIL the Bloody Helice follow-up attack to the dodge has it's own follow-up attack. I've used the Bloody Helice in multiple duels...
One fun thing with the helice ash of war is that you can delay both follow ups quite a bit. Can catch people off guard when you mostly immediately trigger it then suddenly delay; they'll often start to approach during the "recovery" window and get surprised by the thrust still coming out.
I know this was 3 months ago, but can you try to explain how to get thaf manual aim of the ash of war? One day I did it consistently, then I just lost my mojo like Austin Powers😂 now I'm going insane, aha

I love this weapon. And I try to utilize it. And within the first 1:10 seconds I learned something new.
The Helice and morgotts cursed sword made me respec into arc in my 1st playtrough awesome ashes of war plus they look amazing

I use this weapon a lot & almost forgot about the 2nd r2 after finessing lol
I didn’t even realize it’s been buffed. Been using it for awhile, and it’s a blast to use. Using that dodge to actually close distance is fun too!
Also, fun side note, just using the spell bloodboon alongside it is crazy. I’ve been able to kill with the hemorrhage from bloodboon which feels amazing.

All I need now is for Fromsoft to make twiblades more viable. mainly talking about the 2-handing. 1-handing is pretty good where it is, just wished the the first strike in the 2h attacks would do more poise and hp damage. The way it is now, the first strike is more for show than anything else making it more of a mid speed weapon rather than a "fast one". the only upside to twiblades is the status build up but that doesn't really make up for how bad the first strike is. I'd even take a bit less build up for just a better damage distribution between the strikes.
If you charge heavy and dodge while holding the left stick in any direction, you dash backwards while swiping ur weapon which catches ppl off gaurd
I love all the HTS, but especially the Helice.
I pair it with the Redmane Greatshield, with the Spear, Curvedsword and Shield talisman. One boosts counter thrusts, one boosts guard counters, one boosts guarding.
The three of them together make guard counters OP, and you can get some nice damage whilst turtling behind your shield!

Hvy Thrusters really got a buff, what with poise & jumping attacks. I love my rapiers but wow. Also great to see this new omnidirectional follow-up capacity in your capable hands, Chase.

I think it pairs really well with offhand crossbows with bleed bolts. Gives you a mixup after spacing with the finesse dodge that can make players afraid of trying to trade the finesse lunge.

In last fight I think blue was sent home by the game. He was called for other red who has died before you invaded. Just a huge delay. periodically happens for me.

Man, this is such a beautiful weapon. The fact that its art matches so well to its gory function, when at the same time there's so much elegance going to its moveset... paired with how effective it is. Definitely one of the top tier weapons in the game.

You can actually do a backstop attack after you do a back step heavy with the thrusting swords, and from my experience it works with any thrusting sword, heavy or not

Chase, the hardest boss in Elden Ring
I used the Bloody Helice Ash of War like a reverse backstep. Thing has crazy range and can catch people pretty easily. Plus it's stylish as hell.

I made bloody helice my signature weapon in elden ring. I use it with bestial sling as it true combos sometimes. But with this weapon I can beat pretty much any melee opponent it’s just the wizards that gives me headache.
At 1:12 was the first time I saw someone talk about this, and a fun fact with it, you can also do this with curved swords

The Bloody Helice was a serious contender for my favorite weapon in ER even before the buff. Now that you can aim its AoW
followup attack it's a no brainer. Most fun and elegant weapon in the game.

The Ash of War for this weapon is... bloody magnificent. 🤣 But on a non-pun related note, I think it's the best quality by far and I'd argue it's among the top best unique or even overall ashes of war in the game. The range and bleed are great, for sure, but even if it had less range and no bleed it would be amazing imo. Having a mobility AoW that has invincibility frames and can counter thrust for insane damage is just nutty.
6:29 No, it’s super easy to be knocked out of now. All the jump based incantations, or incantations set while you’re in the air, or incantations that are slow but have zero hyper armor like Theodorixs Magma, are all practically useless now. Just “free hit on me” buttons, basically.

Well now the cat's out of the bag 😂. This has been my favorite pvp weapon since the update. My first playthrough was an arcane dex build without using the mega dual bleed and it wasn't the best. But now status effects are buffed and the bloody helice is great. Reverse finesse is amazing and most people don't expect the follow up.

I'd love to see like a "shortest combo to bleed" mentioned, too.
Lord of Blood's exultation and White mask will give you a 30% damage boost on this weapon whenever you do damage

i faced 3 guys using this weapon whit the fingerprint greatshield... its so fucking hard to play against this poke behind the shield strat can someone give me some tips?
Against 3 fingerprint shields pokers? Not sure if there’s much advice that would help you in that situation lol. In general though, anything with high status build up, or weapons that partially bypass shield protection (such as the shotel or ripple crescent halberd). Also after the patch, the kick ash of war does immense stamina damage. I believe you can guard break even a fingerprint shield in 2 kicks, maybe 3 at most.
EDIT: Meant to say Vulgar Militia Shotel, not Ripple Crescent Halberd. The halberd can be a good choice if you’re running an arcane build though. Buff it with sleep grease (since that also scales with arcane) and you’ll sleep them through the shields very quickly
Sorry, a gank of fingerprint shield pokers is still the most powerful thing in this game. My go to is a vulger militia shotel with RKR but if they’ve got the bloody Helice and can just I-frame away, well they’ll see the running R1 coming everytime.
Don’t honestly know what I’d do against that, finger sever out probably.
At that point I would run away, put on the talisman that makes you invisible when crouching, & start launching ballista bolts & great arrows like it’s first blood pt 2
