There's just something about starting over on a fresh save and building your character from scratch while having all the knowledge needed to play and clear the game, loving this series chase glad its back!
Yeah, fresh characters are the way to replay these games. Ng+ is fun for a while but a large part of the enjoyment of the games is building your character, finding new gear and getting to new areas. That's one strength of Shadow of the Erdtree over other expansions in the series. It keeps that character progression alive.
I hope you got the "Bravo!" gesture from Varre, so that you can clap at all the high level phantoms you will encounter. My favorite gesture for invasions.

I love watching how you treat the boss fights like PvP matches with all the weapon swapping lol. Also side suggestion, maybe for this build you could try a semi parry/deflect/counter build for PvE, especially with the addition of the deflecting hardtear in the DLC
Yeah rushing to the dlc to unlock deflecting hard tear as early as possible is such a fun way to play through the game - pretty sure chase could take down mohg at low level easily enough
I really wish you would do a level up series where you tauntered-tongue and fought invaders! I think some may give you a legit challenge... would be cool!

lol that Rune Bear scared the shit out of me the first time I encountered it. I had no idea where it came from. I tried to run on Torrent and his yell killed me about a mile away. At first I thought he chased me down after I galloped full-speed away all the while spamming the sprint button.
6:35 afaik, you can't (unless you parry him). Night riders have 80 poise, but they have a poise reduction multiplier that makes their actual poise 400. You'll kill them before breaking it. Another enemy with similar feature is ancient dragons. They've 600 effective poise, 300 if you hit the head.
These are always a fun watch. Btw, you probably already know, but you can buy the beast repelling torch at the Caelid merchant so you can get items that are guarded by animals without having to fight them. Works on any animal, including bears (probably not rune bears, but I'm not sure,) with the exception of the undead skeleton dogs. You can two-hand your weapon and have the torch effect active if you don't want the light. Also, you can frostbite the crystal soldiers and they'll move extremely slow, turning them into basically a free kill. But I don't remember how early you get frost infusion, tbh. Anyways, sorry if you already knew all this 😅 Looking forward to the next one!
I want to echo what someone else said - it would be super entertaining if you played with Taunter's Tongue on during PvE. Just keep it simple and treat the runes you get from killing Taunter Tongue invaders as PvE runes and don't level up with them. It'll make the PvE areas a lot more crazy and entertaining if there are goofy invaders (and goofier hunters if you turn the white ring on) running around, compared to just watching you go through and clown on all of the NPCs for the 4th time. Still the same amount of PvE, but just spicier and we get to see you on the other side of invasions for once.
OK hear me out. When you are not invading you have to have taunters tongue active (except for bosses ofc) just to make those parts include PvP as well.
I think he likes to keep the pve souls and pvp souls separate. But i’d love to see him participate in some taunters tongue action and consider them as pve souls.

Interestingly, the golden parry ash supposedly only has 6 active parry frames (at 60FPS) since update 1.12 TLDR: The Carian ash is literally 2x as good as a medium shield parry lmao
They were all changed patch 1.13 or 1.14 -I forget the detail but all the standard ones are better than they were and all the fancy ones are identical.

when at +0 on these kinds of runs or low level characters ive found twinblade from agheel lake ruins to be quite good with the bloody slash. there are so many amazing weapons you can get right away though and just use all game.. zwei, claymore, shamshir, kgs, bkh, spiked caestus

Also, maybe try offhand Carian sorcery sword to apply scholars armament on claymans harpoon with spectral Lance for good close up pressure and mediocre long range
The reason why they didn't put a site of grace next to Var, is because it is unclean to kill other tarnished, so a church of blood from PvP is too unclean for a grace. Hope you enjoyed the lore Chase =D
