As for foreign reserves diversifying, ok, but what inderpins global trade and borrowing....collateral called US treasury bonds and few others. That's what drives base demand for US Debt, not Gov't purchases.

Agree, demand for debt still exists but desire to purchase is dwindling. Thanks for sharing.

Gov't deficit spending has increased steadily since 1981, yet the inflation rate fell the whole time up to 2020, hence the 40 year bond rally.
Again, what's the connection to inflation? It is rational to think it, but reality so far has not confirmed it.

What happened in 2020? stimulus, interest rate skyrocket, Gov debt, inverted yield curve.. and your right however gov debt stood 19T in 2016 and it's over 34.85 now - the debt load will eventually crush the economic engine supporting it. Thanks for watching and sharing.

Isn't part of the value decrease of international US-bond holding owed to the rise of interest rates?

By including the word (Value) I'm assuming your looking for the following - Bonds typically have an inverse relationship to interest rates.

Too much reckless spending by the goverment . Rampant inflation aiming to hyperinflation . Spending in foreing wars . Soon we the americans will suffer many goverment cuts . This is very sad .
