So it's gonna be like dragon age 2 ultimatum fate decision making. Stop him and support the mortals from destroying the veil or join him and turn against everyone close to your hero. Man, if I can be anyone in dragon age 4 I want to be male Mage sarcastic Hawke fighting alongside varric, carver, Aveline, Blackwall, Isabella, Dorian and sera. But if I get the same option to kill anyone I please like in origins I'll make my Hawke duel Vivienne to the death in front of all the companions and humiliate her out of my bitter pleasure to destroy her as a whole.
Of all the Dragon Ages, Solas betrayal actually hurt me as a player. I've played & beaten every game & love numerous companions but Solas & my Inquisitor were actual friends. I loved talking to him & all the metaphysical commentary with him. He never left my party. When that fool "betrayed" me I was sitting there mouth open like wtf?! The final thing my Inquisitor said to Solas in the Tresspasser DLC was some shit like I'll find a way to redeem you or save you & Solas looked back & said "I know, my friend." I cried.
NC yea but my instincts told me not to trust Solas (wish i could have grilled him more) so while i was still taken aback it was an I knew it! moment lol.. i also didnt trust Blackwall..he didnt act like a Warden when darkspawn were around so i kept an eye on him so to speak.. i did worry about Iron Bull when we went after the Qunari.. so now what.. solas redemn or condemn? he caused a lot of death and destruction.. gonna be hard for me to forget that..gonna be fun..
Same here, Solas was like a friend who liked to talk and explained to my inquisitor (rogue) how he saw things and what he knew about fade, bioware did an incredible job with him, even without ever playing with a female character I always I liked him very much as a friend and advisor.
Solas is the embodiment of literally everything wrong with the Elvhen people as a whole. Fenris said it best they SHOULDN'T be chasing ghosts because this is what you get.
@Wirr Ling Mankind never destroyed the Elves...The Elves civil warred destroying themselves. Humans came afterwards simply taking what was left of a dead empire. Also almost every real life nation has done similar actions if the Tevinter are to be condemned for taking advantage of a situation then so should all of Humanity. And no that isn't a morally right thing to do. The Elves got what they deserved and what they caused themselves. I feel no pity for the Ancient Elves.
I knew from the moment they started talking about it that whoever drinks from that will become a slave and face a brutal fate. I made my Inquisitor drink anyways it's better than Morrigan doing it for me. If you hate her then have her do it.
@@JackdawYT I just saw an article about urn of sacred ashes corruption, Leliana coming back if killed in Origins and how that and lyrium are tied together, possibly with how Inquisition ends too and various dialogue. Would love to see/hear your thoughts on that and how it might shake out.
I never play as a female character in games if I don’t have to but I just beat the game as a female elf I just feel like a romance with solas is just far more interesting than the other company’s
DA2 is better and makes more sense playing as a female Hawke. But I don't think a female fits the role of Inquisitor, and DA:I itself doesn't flatter a female protag at all.
[ NOTE: I'm Italian, so I apologize if I'll make mistakes. Also, I discovered DA not very much time ago, so I may lack some things that you already know. Please, forgive me ... ^^' ] WTF... Maybe I'm the odd one, but I never romanced the egg xD Alright, his topics about the Fade et cetera are interesting, no doubt. But bringing him in the quests and side quests... there were times I got tired and switched companion. To be honest (another thing for which I'm saying I'm odd), I don't like play as a female ch, even If I'm a girl myself. I tried sometimes, but got sicked after a little while. Well, maybe I've my motivations, but that's another matter. It's not like I hate Solas, it's just as I said before. I'd rather be his/her friend, at most. Even if I'll play as an elf female (or other races), I'd rather romance Josie or Sera... Well, I'm a strange girl and I really don't like marriage and/or "typical" relationships (eg. Cullen & Blackwall). xD Anyway, I do enjoy the DA universe and I'm curious to see how this all will end. :) If we can save our Egg friend in the next DA game, that's ok for me. If it's not the case... well, that's ok too. I can't help it. That's just my personal feelings. I have my sort-of theory, too. About the Maker and other religions. I think none is correct, at least not entirely. Solas explained that the Elven "gods" were no gods, but powerful mages... Based on what I have read in several codex and my personal knowledge, I think that is just this: there is no Maker or god. It's more like the Cult of Spirits. That would mean that everyone is free of doing whatever they want, including choices and consequences, with no one's judgement. It's like a sort-of buddism/spiritual religion, which is long-lost in Thedas, as well as in our own world. If I remember correctly, there's a codex in the Fallow Mire that mention "shamans". Alright, now I'll stop here. That's a bit Off-Topic. :) Bye! Have a nice day! PS: It's a shame Tevinter Nights has not been published in Italian yet ... I'd like to read it!
@A· vi Well, for the Inquisitor many of the character animations are masculine, including how the Inquisitor sits on the throne. The armor and clothing is also masculine. And the responses are all mostly domineering and tough-sounding. Any female I've played came off as butch unless I avoided those particular interactions. The dance with Florienne is unavoidable though. That's why a male is better suited to be Inquisitor. I would also add human and mage to that statement. As for Hawke, I think that story is mostly one of tragedy and calamity. No matter how hard Hawke tries, bad things always happen. If Hawke is male, he comes off as a weakling, an idiot, or a loser because of how much he failed. But a female Hawke is already at a physical and societal disadvantage. So when she fails, it is easier to sympathize with her. She tried her best but Kirkwall was just too cruel. It's natural to feel sorry for her. But with a male Hawke, you expect him to do better, to be tougher, and to be a winner. If HE fails, then he's just a pathetic scrub. Also, if you play as a male, Anders reveals that he is bisexual, which was not true of him in Awakening. He doesn't reveal that to a female Hawke though, so it keeps him more in line with his canon Awakening version. Similar case with Fenris. Also, a female Hawke can romance Sebastian.
I have a feeling something bigger and badder than even Solas is going to show up and threaten everything. Whether that's a Titan, or the Evanuris, or what, I don't know. But I think he'll be faced with a choice to fight to save this world or lose everything to the other bad guy. But, speculation.
@@brittvakarian I do think it's too simplistic. I mean, so much was revealed in DAI and in the books-I know that information won't be allowed to go to waste. Plus that little snippet of video really looked like the inside of a Titan being infected with red lyrium. I can only imagine how powerful something like that would be, and it would make sense if Solas had plans to try to prepare for a fight with the Evanuris. A beefed up Titan would definitely have cause to fight them, but the red lyrium would drive it mad. I could see something along those lines backfiring on him. I'm also curious what the "Veil- strengthening orbs" were actually used for. It doesn't really make sense that he would strengthen the very thing he intends to tear down. It also doesn't make sense that they'd be an ancient elven artifact pertaining to the Veil, considering there was no Veil when the ancient elves were around. 🤷♀️
Or? Try both Titans and Old Gods and Evanuris. All of them in warfare with each other and us. Meanwhile the Qun invading Northern Thedas and the Imperium becoming more and more corrupt and divided. My guess is how the story will play out is we'll be hired to track down Solas in the process get involved in the New Qunari Wars of Tevinter and Antiva (perhaps seeing an Exalted March happen) then Solas tears down the Veil unleashing all of the evil god-like beings on Thedas.
@@alainecollins6532 The Titans could be CAUSING the Red Lyrium to turn people insane...Why? I don't know they might be pissed off how surfacers have committed genocide against their kind? Even Dwarves wouldn't be safe from their fury given they abandoned their creators and created corrupt societies to replace them. If the Titans are evil then it's more than likely Red Lyrium and the Blights are their weapons of revenge then anything else.
You are ripping my heart out with this video. I romanced Solas and I just want a happy ending for him and my Inquisitor. But somehow I doubt that it will happen in DA4. I still think that Solas will free the elves in Tevinter, weakening the Empire and creating chaos as a distraction from his plans. I also hope that he won't use red lyrium. He should know better than that as red lyrium corrups everything - it even corrupted Andruil.
My male elf Anuel was a Dalish warrior and he created a bromance with Solas. Wanting to become his own person, Solas helped him with that and he was grateful. Anuel was hurt when he found out Solas lies all along but understood Solas and why he was on the path. Even with this he knows that this world cannot die and it is not right to the people of Thedas and as a leader it is his responsibility to ensure that all people of thedas are safe and can come together. He will try his best to redeem Solas but knows there’s a possibility that he will have to kill someone he considers his brother.
What about the soul of the High Dragon soul from Morrigan's son. Mythal took it from her and if you correct Jackdaw, that power would be key to her revival once the Veil is shredded cheese. My thoughts, best case; she uses this power in order to personally exact vengeance on the Evanuris, or to assist Solas in sniffing them, as they would be weakened and unable to use their full might. Worst case; She kills Solas, the Evanuris, Tevinter, the old lady across the creek, you, me, joy, etc.
After reading tevinter nights....i think it would be cool if the protagonist is a lord of fortune or a crow or even an altus....btw love your vids jackdaw.
From Trespasser’s events to Tevinter Nights’ revelations, we have a lot to talk about regarding the future scheme of our beloved friend. The journey ahead is going to be nothing but tragic. Also, I stream on Twitch 3 times a week these days, if you’d like to catch one of my streams, follow me on Twitch: www.twitch.tv/jackdawyt
Of course it won't end happily...When has it? Even the victories in Origins and Inquisition were overshadowed by the events that followed. Either we're going to be forced to kill Solas or we'll have the option to side with him costing millions of innocent lives in the process. Either way yes there's going to be war and bloodshed and racial hatred leading to mass genocide.
Man, I am just distraught about this, in the best way. The Dragon Age franchise has gone through with creating some of the best, most in-depth lore I have ever read for a video game series, and because of this, they have set us up for an epic ending. They have set so much up- the Blights, the Mage/Tempar conflict, tranquils, complete religions and races- I can't get over the lore created for this series. Between Mythal, Solas, Keiran and the Old God soul-- and I'm so excited to see it all come together.
I never want DA to end 😅😭 the whole franchise is completely immersive. Like you said, the level of lore about everything is mind blowing plus, the characters and their own lore and stories are incredible too. I’m quite picky with games, they need to be just right (lore, story, characters etc) and DA is perfect to me :) I need DA4 like yesterday haha! Solavellan all the way 🥹
Hey Jackdaw. Love the channel & content, keep at it. I wanted to throw this out there.........What of the Elven Artifacts Solas asks the Inquisitor to activate throughout Thedas, is actually his Plan B. I remember him mentioning at least twice, he is unsure if the orb would have survived (Intact). This would tie in with the "Solas Ritual". The first time you activate one is in The Hinterlands, also if you chase away the elven mage that was fighting a demon near there. Solas slightly approves & she in turn literally says "Then may the Dread Wolf take you". Could one have to do with the other?
That was a world ruled by Corypheus a False God in charge of Tevinter and corrupted with Red Lyrium everywhere. If it was only the Veil was gone and there's no more gods that people worship or enslaved by...Then Future Solas would of loved the place. To think that what we saw was Solas vision is not accurate at all there's clear differences between their ideal paradises. In Solas ALL Humans will be gone, No Gods will remain, The Veil will be gone but the Fade would be merged with Thedas not consuming it.
@@JackdawYT i'm interested in the vengeance angle you attributed to solas in this recap video. i never read him as being vengeful -- even on behalf of mythal. to me, his actions scream 'RELUCTANT LOYALTY,' y'know? (i think mythal's vengeful, don't get me wrong. i just don't see that same spirit of retribution in solas.)
I have the feeling that Solas is the only one actually seeking revenge on the other gods. As he said Mythal was the best of them, a voice of reason. And I assume she put the soul of the old god she either got from Kieran or from the dead Wardens/ Alistair's grave, into the eluvian. And that maybe the next hero somehow is possessed by it. It is known that the Qunari have a part of the eluvian system for themselves and they are at war with Tevinter. Our hero could be a bland soltier amongst Tevinter armies and stumble across it. Of course if Mythal plays a double game to trick Solas, that means either Morrigan or the inquisitor are her pawn. And Solas knows about it. On the other hand Mythal could be tainted by hate and revenge. Just like Flemmeth was when she was betrayed by her love and loocked in the tower. Spirits are temped to show when they feel a feeling which resembles them so Mythal was directed right to Flemeth and both escaped to plot their revenge on humanity. And Solas just happens to be their side kick in need.
It's possible mythal can have a darker path. But at the same time. She's know as the protector. She was also what helped saved the warden and was there at the start of Hawke setting them on their paths. Who happened to save ferelden and kirkwall.
If you think Mythal is a selfless hero you've not been paying any attention at all. She's utterly selfish and has her own reasons namely vengeance to have done what she did. Can't kill Solas and the other Evanuris if the entire world is Blighted. Can't get resurrected if you truly die. Also the entire Temple of the Well of Sorrows shows us she was a massive slaver still is. Every last being to ever walk in that Temple then drink from the Well was/is a slave to her. Just because she's nicer than the other Gods doesn't make her any less of a tyrant nor does it make her inherently good. This series has never portrayed it as black and white...You'll see when this is all said and done that Mythal was one of the greatest monsters around worse than the other Evanuris but with understandable reasons behind her goals.
If wisdom can turn into pride then I would bet my left kidney that justice has already turned to vengeance. We saw it with Anders and in Inquisition we saw Mythal's white hot fury at the evenuris. Whilst she may have once been good, her selfish motives are now in control.
Another way to think about Mythal is that she will take control of Fen'Harel from within and may use the one who took the Well of Sorrows as a beacon to do it. But first, she will wait for Solas to destroy the Veil and fight the Evanuris. While it happens, we might face the Forgotten Ones too, and even get access to the Black City, in order to fight and destroy them. Only then she would fulfill her plan and restore the peace to the world, maybe also killing herself in the end. Ending all the Creators and the Forgotten Ones might bring back the Maker or reveal He haven't really existed at all. Maybe with all religions gone and magic again in the world, the Dragon Age serie would end in peace, with no more Blights nor battle between the Chantry, the Templars, the Mages. No more enslavement of Elves, peace between the Dwarves and the surface, Tevinter losing their argument for superiority (magic) etc. I just don't think all of that would happen in just 1 game, it's too much. But, as EA seems to have abandoned the DA series, it may be possible for them to create an enormous campaing. More than 100 hours for a simple playthrough, with insane amount of level gained and increasing difficulties as the war gets more and more complex and "all or nothing".
Video: *thoroughly and concisely explains Sola's lore and how the Inquisitor changed everything for him* Me: *gasping* "why am I gasping? I know this already."
I hope in the 4th game Solas has different reactions based on whether or not you were friends, enemies or lovers. I hope they widen the range of dialect a bit more regarding that.
Mythal is featured since Origins, while Fen'Harel is relative new (in screen time, we all know the Creators are explained since first game). So, from a screenplay point of view, I think it would make more sense and turn the macro story bolder if Mythal is presented as the true villain. Not like something as an old perfect plan, but something she developed after knowing Fen'Harel had woken from slumber, coming from pure desire of revenge. Her people abandoned her. She was forced to jump from body to body endlessly for a long, long time. For me, she simply wish the Evanuris to destroy everything, including Fen'Harel.
Can't wait for more of your video miniseries Jack. As for this vid's topic, I think Solas' ritual probably involves convincing spirits to possess willing hosts. These willing hosts will be his agents and his followers. The higher level spirits will posses Solas' magi agents. Any lower spirits will possess his warriors and rogues to boost their strength, speed, accuracy, etc, or perhaps just operate as Spirit Warriors do, which doesn't require possession. Also Seekers. Think back to Ulred, or even Connor. Their powers were made so much greater than any known mage. Another example is Sigrid Guldsdotten. In JoH she fuses with her spirit mentor and wants to hold onto him. You can either convince her to let the spirit go, or maintain the pact and become an agent for the Inquisition. A Chore Table mission involves sending her to a party, where the nobles are awestruck at how powerful she is. She also impressed a Magister, and outdid the senior mages of Ferelden. Now imagine a game full of such powerful beings. Would make for interesting boss battles, in spades! Even the lower spirits would be able to augment Solas' followers. Wynne's spirit wasn't that powerful, but it was mostly focused on preserving her life. That's why her Spirit Mode was not all that impressive, though this can be boosted by healing her one regret and giving her Aneirin's Token (amulet). These spirits could boost even ordinary followers and make them more formidable than most soldiers or even templars. Also, Solas' original character iteration, Zathrien, was bound to Witherfang. Their power was enough to keep Zathrien alive for centuries and preserve a werewolf curse on multiple targets. And of course Solas is bound to the Dread Wolf, or he IS the Dread Wolf. Not really sure what's going on there, if he's like Anders and Justice, or if the Dread Wolf is just a manifestation of Solas' own spirit, like an aura. So, how is Solas convincing spirits to possess people? Usually spirits don't want to do anything of the sort, and aren't interested in living in the real world. I think Solas has made a deal with them. He promises that the Veil will come down, and that spirits will have a better world to live in once the Fade and Real converge. He has also told them of the Neverran mortalitasi and Tevinter blood mages who bind spirits, and has promised to stop them from binding their spirit-kind. That's why Solas threatens them to stop using blood magic and binding spirits. It's part of his plan to keep the spirits willing to go through with his ritual. Once he's ready, he will have the spirits possess all of his willing followers at once. Until then he needs to prevent the binding of spirits, and probably demons too, by mages in the real world. To expand more on the first issue of making the Fade great again, I think Solas has convinced the spirits that the Fade as it exists is fragmented and bland compared to what it was in the days of Elvhenan. Spirits recreate islands that reflect bits and pieces of the real world, or what is gleamed from the dreams of mortals. Solas says there's a better way, and that's to take down the Veil and merge the two realities. That way they can restore beauty to the Crossroads, which will have a carry-over effect on the Fade as well. Plus, spirits will be able to visit the Crossroads freely and experience all the marvels it has to offer. But why does Solas need this army of augmented mages and soldiers? I think Solas anticipates some resistance from the awakened evanuris. I think he assumes they have entered uthenera to pass the many millennia while trapped, and that they will be weak when the awaken. I think Solas is right about all but two of them. I think Elgar'nan remained awake and in a perpetual rage, torturing his own followers in his anger for thousands of years. Meanwhile I think Falon'Din has remained awake, aware, and watchful of his chance to escape while Dirthamen has slumbered. He stayed cool and calm the entire time, exercising immense mental fortitude and discipline. Falon'Din will be the true brains of the villains, while Elgar'nan will be the major power, though Falon'Din will be powerful too. But Solas will expect them all to be weak and they will have to rely on the strength of their loyal followers. Solas' army will be tasked with stopping those rival factions. Solas might try to go after Elgar'nan or Falon'Din himself, depending on which one actually killed Mythal (I believe that it was Falon'Din who did it with the help of his brother). Solas will send his top generals to go after all the other evanuris. Those generals will battle the evanuris while the other soldiers hold back any rival soldiers. I think the group(s) sent to take Elgar'nan will be supremely shit-hammered by him personally, who will burst forth from his eluvian in a rage. This might be the first location we investigate, and I think we might find the place where Elgar'nan was imprisoned full of his own followers either dead or in complete shock after all the thousands of years locked up with him. Falon'Din will hold his own against Solas, and probably defeat him and escape with his brother in tow. All the others might be defeated or not depending on the situation. Maybe June will barricade himself inside his own prison using various creations and contraptions to protect himself while he slumbered. Andruil, Sylaise, and Ghilan'nain might be sealed together or separately, and any of them might put up a good fight. They might also be able to escape, or perhaps use blood magic to gain power by sacrificing their followers. It's also possible any one of them could have outside help, perhaps from the Formless One. I think Solas' original plan was to use the lyrium mines as bait. Assuming the evanuris awoke in a weakened state, they would logically head for the lyrium mine to replenish their power. That's where Solas would have ambushed them. But the qunari and the Inquisitor ruined that plan.
As for Solas creating the Veil, I think that's not canonically confirmed. I'm sure he thinks he created it, but it's possible that he simply discovered it and mimicked that magic to seal Elvhenan off from the Fade. Like how Sylaise "created" fire. The Spirit of Knowledge tells us what the elvhen said the day the Veil ruined their cities. They asked, "How could the Dread Wolf cast a Veil between the world that wakes and the world that dreams?" What I find interesting is that they state "a Veil", not "THE Veil". This might indicate that other Veils exist in other places or stand between other worlds to divide them. They go on to ask "What is the Veil", which might indicate they had never experienced anything like it before, or it could be that they didn't understand how that particular Veil worked in comparison to a naturally occurring Veil. I also find it odd that they knew what to call it. If this was the first of its kind, how would they know to call it a "Veil" or whatever elvhen term they used? The Inquisitor asks if those records are saying Fen'Harel created the Veil, and this is met with immediate skepticism from certain companions. Sera says it can't be true, and think the Veil has always been there. Vivienne also states it's impossible since there would have been a record of such a time when there was no Veil during human history. I think what Vivienne said suggests that humans existed in a far-off part of the world where the natural Veil existed, and could not venture past any area where there was no Veil because it was too treacherous and mystifying. But when Solas cast a Veil over Thedas, humans were able to explore further and eventually came to occupy it. This is partly why I think Solas tearing down his own work will not tear down the Veil completely, just the parts he sealed off, which includes the parts holding the evanuris. This is why his plan will ultimately fail, and our protags will have to step in to clean up the mess. Minor point. I'm not sure the evanuris are in torment while sealed away. I'm sure captivity of any kind can be seen as torment to some degree, but most of them probably entered uthenera to pass the time. Elves calling Fen'Harel's agents "cultists" is as clueless as calling humans "shemlen" when the term applies to elves now as well. They don't understand the meanings of words. The agents aren't cultists because they didn't derive their belief from anything else, nor are they putting their own spin on it. They're more like apostates in the traditional sense of the word. They once believed Fen'Harel was the Trickster god, but now they think he's just a powerful mage who can restore their elvhen glory. They no longer believe the Dalish tales. Of course, city elves aren't even apostates since they never believed the Dalish tales to begin with. I agree Mythal is playing Solas toward her own ends. She wants the evanuris to be destroyed. I think Solas is just the key to releasing them so that the previous protags and next protag can take them all out. I think the (ex-)Inquisitor will have the option to spare or kill Solas, but I think the next protag will help defeat him and bring him down to that point where the (x)In can make that final call. I think it would also be interesting if we had the choice to make him tranquil, or even hand him over to Elgar'nan. It may also be interesting if the new protag can choose to defy the (x)In's choice and either kill Solas or stop the (x)In from killing him. All up to the player, of course. But I think it's likely that the new protag will help the (x)In defeat Solas in battle. Maybe the new protag fights the Dread Wolf aspect of Solas, while the (x)In fights Solas with his power divided or disrupted. Maybe having the Well of Sorrows' knowledge will help defeat him, which might bring Morrigan back into the equation as well. I'm not sure if Mythal will be good or evil ultimately though. You'd think after centuries living with Flemeth and raising daughters, she would have some compassion for humans. It's also possible she doesn't. But then I don't see her allowing Flemeth to grant Morrigan the power to survive in the Veilless world. Og Kieran calls Morrigan the inheritor of the new age. So either Morrigan inherits it for herself and humanity, or Mythal "inherits" Morrigan. I tend to lean toward Mythal being on the evil side of things. Maybe she wants to become goddess again and rule alone, thinking her way is the most benevolent.
I wish that Inquisitor join the Solas side if she had romance with him. Especially if she was elf mage and claimed that she loves Solas. And also I wish to see Fenris or Kieran in the Dragon Age 4 as the dark characters that helps the main character.
Since Andruil tired of hunting "mortal men and beasts" - is it safe to say that humans were around in some form? And if so, they were before the Veil went back up. Why does Solas think he's going to kill everyone if humans, dwarves were around before the Veil? I don't know. I have a theory the Forgotten Ones were immortal humans. Would make sense since both groups hated one another.
@@JackdawYT Aw thanks for the love, lol. It was my own crackpot theory since Inquisition and its DLC's. That temple with the angry message about "Let Andruil's bow break", etc., and the story with Andruil getting into a fight with a Forgotten one (forgot the dude's name, lol) over Fen'Harel. Not sure why two factions of elves would be warring with one another - though it is possible, but maybe kinda boring? It would make more sense ( to me) that one faction maybe could be another species altogether. What's curious is this "war" that came before the Evanuris became the immortal "gods". This would have taken place way before any "age" and Solas is frustratingly vague about it when he mentions it. I don't think it was between the Forgotten ones and the Evanuris - but maybe against something else altogether? Maybe the Forgotten ones and the Evanuris were allies and had a falling out? I'd like to know the official name of the Forgotten ones as well. I highly doubt they called themselves that. And here's another wacko theory: imagine if in Thedas, there had been a natural Veil between reality and the spirit world (like our world with no magic), and maybe the war, or the Evanuris tore it down for more power? And Solas put it back up, not realizing that it should've been there all along (as he didn't come into existence technically until after the mysterious "war" and who knows what info/propaganda he was fed regarding it) -- and oops, now he wants to tear it down again, lol. Like a vicious cycle. Sorry for the novel; batting around ideas and theories is fun.
Flames Of Chaos haven’t heard of elven males referred to as “men” anywhere in the game. And weren’t all the elves immortal during the Evanuris’s reign? Also the Tevinter Empire was a decent size by the time they went to war with the elves. From where did they originate in such mass numbers if they weren’t around before the Veil?
@@maiafay Of course you don't hear it in the games...It's 8,000 years AFTER the fall of the Elvhen Empire. Now it's a time where Humanity IS all over the place and took the term for themselves or were given it either way the word is now associated with them. Given racial tensions Elves and Humans aren't going to refer to themselves with the same status and titles unless it's to mock them. The Elvhen Empire didn't fall in a day...Pretty damn certain it took a long long time. We don't know how long there's no records. But it very well could of been decades or hundreds of years. Enough time for Humanity to arrive on Thedas then breed and take over lands. Anyways that's not even talking about the more than likely magical origins of the race.
All focus is on the elven pantheon and the chantry is all but forgotten. A lot of truths will be revealed in Dragon Age 4 especially about the chantry, Andraste and the Maker. You pass through the veil to get to the black city which is possibly the realm of the elven pantheon but the chantry believes it to be once the realm of the maker before the magisters tainted it. The veil is the realm of the dread wolf, his creation. So where is the Maker in all these?
was the orb destroyed by falling rocks? i dont think we saw a visual of what caused it to crack? i assumed it was using it to hurl corypheus into the fade and close the breach.
I want to join " The Forgotten Ones " and bring it all down. Evenuris, Blight, Tevinter, Qun, Grey Wardens, Old Gods, New Gods, Demons, Zealous Dread Wolf. At this point Thedas needs a reboot .. Stand with the people, and fuck the rest.
One things I would love for bioware to do is doing something like we can choose how our world would be from the settings especially for new players . like we can choose who is the heroes from Origins to and what they had done to save the world during that time and then the same for dragon age 2 and the same for the rest
My playthrough kept Solas I bit on the outer, he didn't like a lot of decisions I made as an elven mage... He left in a hurry at the end and I missed almost ALL of this information. At the end of the game I just thought he'd been scheming something evil this whole time and kept the wool over my eyes. How wrong I was! Perhaps I should try a second playthrough? Go a warrior, let the mages go mad and have a love story with Solas... 🤔🤔
Too bad you arent given an option to side with the Dread Wolf play it on both sides having 2 different potential storylines depending on your choices. Be cool to see it from both perspectives.
I just want to here to full ORIGINAL, unedited Chant of Light; the Maker and the lore around him for is what i focused on the most for some reason when i started this series more then a decade ago, idk but i felt like if we could understand the truth behind that, the truth of all the other lore would become known. Anyone else think that the Maker was just an incredibly rare Spirit? Perhaps a Spirit of Creation? Some form of “first concept”? It would make sense that the concept of “Creation” would be responsible for its own abrupt existence, and the existence of everything after it 🤔
"Vengeance shall be mine" will be my path (if allowed) for his betrayal at the end of D3, He chose his path and I will separate his head from his body for it. But will try not to hurt the other elves who do not side with him, those who do die.
I feel like whoever we play as next will take the Inquisitor with them to confront Solas, and he'll either cave to redemption because of them or he'll be forced to kill them so they dont stop him 🥺
I have another Jackieboi! Alix the Wilton Regan publicly announced on her Twitter that she is being featured in three, soon to be announced, games. Considering that this comes before the XBOX games showcase, one can only wonder.
After reading the Horror of Hormak (Hormok?) I personally can't wait to kill the Evanuris. Solas betrayal cut me deep, and I'm going return that favor in kind, screw redemption, hes going down.
100% He loves her TOO MUCH for it to be natural. Then there's the fact this series has NEVER portrayed anything as black and white...To believe the Evanuris are all evil based only on the words of their number 1 enemy and the person they killed is pretty stupid. They're definitely all False Gods and Slavers and Killers but they're not going to be the evil incarnate that Solas claimed they're. They're simply gonna end up being like Magisters or Orlesian Emperors...Meaning political rulers who've done good and bad for their society. And Mythal was one of them she'll be complicit in many of their crimes then betrayed them for power.
I have a feeling that the Evanuris and the Forgotten Once are one and the same. The Elves couldn't understand the sudden turn of the Evanuris from presumed benevolence to madness (probably due to their supposed use of the red lyrium), so they separated the two. Or they simply couldn't settle their enslavers and their rulers into a single group.
so in short....Solas was an elven god that got mad at his people for killing his friend and created the veil as vengance. Now he noticed all elves were turned mortal and are wavering as a species and now wants to destroy the veil to save them?
Ooo just had a thought what if elven female who romances solas and drinks from the well makes an appearance in the DA4 and Mythal attempts to use her and it crosses the line for Solas and he goes back to the good side?? Think about it BioWare hahah ♥️😁
Taking Sandal's words as prophecy, I wonder if the protagonist's main choice in DA4 will be whether to re-erect the Veil. I'm curious how that will all play out!
Solas WILL destroy it no buts. It can't be up to the player given they could play as a female and Sandal specifically said it'll be a He. It'll be a predefined male with the power to destroy the Veil. That's either Solas or the Maker nobody else...Given the Maker doesn't ever care to show up that leaves only one candidate.
I know I'm a wonder pessimist when it comes to Bioware nowadays, but darnit, I just want them to make great games again. I remember when they were brilliant, selling a couple million copies of Baldur's Gate 1 when everyone expected the new "Pool of Radiance" to be the game that brought DnD back into computer gaming; certainly not a team of a couple dozen upstarts using their own engine on a shoestring budget that needed help from Interplay with their Social marketing controlled by Black Isle. As skeptical as I am, and worried about the release date along with cancelation issues that could arise because of it, this is also a perfect opportunity for them to get back to the original dark fantasy that was envisioned when Gaider and Laidlaw locked themselves away for 2 weeks and wrote a few hundred pages of lore about a new world on a coffee table at Dave's house. Barrel chested men and sexy sorceresses fighting Demigods and demons that temp with power, sexuality and intrigue all while being pawns of various characters who are also being used by others while the once unassuming Solas seems to be the "Big Bad" (Flemeth was the Big Bad once too, and may still be...). Who knows, maybe we'll even find out what happened to our child from the first game. How kick ass would that be?
I am excited..but also hesitant. Either way I am pre-ordering this game...it still hurts Everytime I play DAI. I think I am a masochist as I always romance him...and I cry every time bar the end of the main game and the end of trespasser...I was hoping to leave with him like my character did with Morrigan in DAO. As much as I love Flemeth/Mythal I feel like she is the final boss of the series..the true bad guy and that Solas was merely a pawn. Solas is one of my favorite characters (only second to Morrigan) in Thedas. I know this game is going to hurt like hell no matter what path we chose.
Hey Jackdaw! Thank you for the video, it was aweosme (just like every other of your videos). Last time you were on live on youtube I asked that: "Do you believe that Abelas and his ancient elven bunch will help Solas in DA4 or will they not even be in the next game at all?!" But I didn't get an answer because you had other things to attend to. So what do you think? Thanks for your answer in advance... keep up the good work, and stay amazing. :)
Hey, thanks! I know for a fact Abelas and the other ancient elves are joining Solas, they're on board with his plan, and in fact are helping him seek it.
WHOA!! How did you find out about this meeting where Solas disguised himself, killed the other spies, and then revealed himself to the inquisitor spies?! Where did I miss this?!
Everyone knows this isn't going to end happy and good because it's Dragon Age, it NEVER ends like that! It will conclude in varying degrees of f&%@#%-up!
Mythal had the old gods soul drained from her as fen'harel rising to power flemeth will be weakened during DA4, fen'harel will use the lyrium idol to weaken the viel , there will 3 major parts in DA4 the war between the qunari and tevinter , the Grey warden at Weisupt fortress and the war against fen'harel and his elven army
hi guy i am new to DA and love every bit of it i am play on xbox 1 was wondering if anybody could tell me on all the videos here the characters have different clothes and hair styles than mine how do i get them
@@ShoppingAttic just think about if u play dragon age 2 the leader clan of elf explained how beyond n fade are same but dai treasspass solas said he rip veil even those veil really the fade
As Solavellan TRASH I know my views on Solas are extremely biased. But I don't get how people don't understand that Solas isn't doing this for his own power fantasy but rather because he is riddled with guilt at destroying the old elvhen world. He's trying to right wrongs he's committed hundreds of years ago, unknowingly setting himself up for more failure because he's too wrapped up in the past to see the present, which is what makes him such an interesting character. Most people who hate Solas think he hates the current people of the world for not being who they were in his time, but if you take him in your party, you see him approve of doing small things to help the little people - he truly CARES, but is too wrapped up in his plan to fully understand that THIS is the new normal. I honestly hope to god that a friend/lover can show Solas his plan is wrong (be it after the Veil is torn down or before - because we all know it IS coming down eventually lol) and help him realise the current world is just as good as the old, and help him let go of the guilt that plagues his mind and fuels his motivation to bring back the old world
How come when we play as Hawke and the Inquisitor, and charge the darkspawn lairs in dragon age 2, and dragon age 3? The darkspawn are slaughtered so fast and easily. and effortlessly? I mean, I am commander Duhaime's best warrior. And I wouldn't go alone in a darkspawn lair, and lay all about em like Hawke and the Inquisitor did. I guess they both weren't normal people. And or had backup from other powerful warriors. If they can do it, so can we regular people. Hope we get to eradicate 100% of the darkspawn this time in dragon age 4. Time for a venatori to be in the spotlight.
Is it possible that each race has its own gods? The Old Gods belong to humans, the Evanuris belong to Elves, the Titans belong to Dwarves, the Kossith (?) belong to Qunari? I don't know. The world is on fire and I'm confused.
the real question is IS what he doing wrong given what the humans have done to the elves this is why i hope they let us play a path that lets us side with the dread wolf
I haven't read those, but I will do that. But I don't see how Flemeth's words is evidence of her not being absorbed by Solas, the words could mean anything really, which I actually just interpreted to mean that Mythal tried to exact vengeance through Solas. We haven't seen anything in the games to suggest that Mythal is anywhere else besides in Solas right now and in the well of sorrows maybe? While in DA2 she could reside in an amulet but there haven't been any reason to think there are more of those.
I continue to think that Mithal is not evil. It is a nonsense what she did in the past then. She saved the Father's Alistair, save Alistair and the Warden, save Hawke, give the possibility to the Inquisitor to save Theldas with the well of Sorrow. ....she plays as a protector not as ennemy of Theldas. I have a lot of question I want to have answers : Is the Architect well one of 7 magister? Can he heal the Grey Warden (because it is him which heal the mother of Alistair, Fiona) If the Architect is well a magister where are the 5 others magisters. In the kinematic of the Dread Wolf rises we see clearly 2 stars in the 7 boxes in the circle where we can see the red lyrium idol, that means that the left two gods will appear in DA4? The artifacts we activate in DAI to close the Veil following Solas are a way to open and close the Veil? Already, in activating the artifacts we have played the game of Solas without what are really the artifacts? I don't understand why he insists to close the veil if at the end he want to open it? I am not sure that Corypheus is really dead because, in the veil there is still a grey Warden fighting Nightmare except if we let Hawke instead the other possibilty of Warden. Why the altar of Dumas worked in DA2? If he is dead, why that worked? Solas told in the Trepasser that they ( General) were in war against their leader before they became king and considered as gods and they succeed to banish this leader. Who is this leader? This leader was a Titan? We know that ancients elves lived in the cave, ( Witches hunt). If this leader ( Titan) is the famous creator who influence Andrasté? What awaken Solas? He sleep thoudands year and he awaken in a foreign world, feeble! As the immortality is linked to what the world was before he created the veil, is it still immortal? Who is Sandal? Is he a herald of the Titan?
Ugh. I feel for Solas. I truly do. But every single one of his plans has been wrought with unimaginable consequences. I’m gonna fix that thing I messed up by messing up. Oh oh, I have a plan to fix my messed up fixing. What could go wrong?

All I know is that DA4 will hurt like hell and I can't wait for it.
why are we all masochists
Amen, it's going to sting, but I'm up for the pain!
But if I get the same option to kill anyone I please like in origins I'll make my Hawke duel Vivienne to the death in front of all the companions and humiliate her out of my bitter pleasure to destroy her as a whole.
solas brakes my heart every time I play DAI
@@joshishere96 I take it you're not a fan of Vivienne?
I think my wounded heart is ready to beat this egg.
I think my wounded heart is ready to fruitlessly attempt to redeem that egg.
Whip 'im fluffy!!
Scramble 'im!
Right there with you dude. When he said that last line to me, I swear I had goosebumps.
Yess it doesn’t help I romanced him either but his views are everything is so pure I really hope we can redeem him , he deserves it
Same here, Solas was like a friend who liked to talk and explained to my inquisitor (rogue) how he saw things and what he knew about fade, bioware did an incredible job with him, even without ever playing with a female character I always I liked him very much as a friend and advisor.
I cried at the love story they have. It’s so beautiful. Tragic and heartbreaking but beautifully written 😭😭
Solas is the embodiment of wisdom become pride.
My Inquisitor drank from the well of sorrows....I am beginning to think that it isn't such a great idea😬
😁 I know, right?
I hope that the devs actually include that arc. Where there comes a moment when who drank from the well becomes a quintessential plot point.
Mythal's gunna get you now
Listen tbh my elven Inquisitors always drink so he can use me all he wants 😎
I knew from the moment they started talking about it that whoever drinks from that will become a slave and face a brutal fate. I made my Inquisitor drink anyways it's better than Morrigan doing it for me. If you hate her then have her do it.
I expect Solas to turn back to the peoples' side against Mythal / other villains by the end, once he realized he's being used.
Agreed! I think we'll see him finally crack and realise Mythal's scheme.
@@JackdawYT I just saw an article about urn of sacred ashes corruption, Leliana coming back if killed in Origins and how that and lyrium are tied together, possibly with how Inquisition ends too and various dialogue. Would love to see/hear your thoughts on that and how it might shake out.
Oooooh good theory!
Nothing a dwarven axe can’t fix
What I find interesting that during the cutscene where the people are singing in DA:I you can see Solas holding the Staff of Corruption
He's laughing on the inside as they all sing
@@JackdawYT I think Solas holding the Staff of Corruption might be a small foreshadow of what's to come
personally i cant wait to redeem him somehow!!!! if its even possible but still super hyped for the eggman's plot
I can't wait to see him again in DA4, I'll legit die
Same. Let's have some hope for redemption.
My little solavellan heart has no choice but to attempt to redeem him. This next game is seriously gonna hurt.
Oh, and I desperately hope griffins make their reappearance in DA4.
That depends if we're going to the Anderfels or not.
I never play as a female character in games if I don’t have to but I just beat the game as a female elf I just feel like a romance with solas is just far more interesting than the other company’s
Bro I feel the same I hate playing as a woman in games but just this one game
DA2 is better and makes more sense playing as a female Hawke. But I don't think a female fits the role of Inquisitor, and DA:I itself doesn't flatter a female protag at all.
[ NOTE: I'm Italian, so I apologize if I'll make mistakes. Also, I discovered DA not very much time ago, so I may lack some things that you already know. Please, forgive me ... ^^' ]
WTF...
Cullen & Blackwall). xD
Anyway, I do enjoy the DA universe and I'm curious to see how this all will end. :)
If we can save our Egg friend in the next DA game, that's ok for me.
Bye!
I like this much more than kill Solas or not kill Solas while that kills everyone else. Surely it won't be that simplistic.
Razikale
Thank you so much for the video! It helps me de-stress about life and stress about Solas instead. 😂
You are so welcome!
I feel the same way!
I don't think Archdemons are High Dragons. I'm thinking they're Tainted Great Dragons.
After reading tevinter nights....i think it would be cool if the protagonist is a lord of fortune or a crow or even an altus....btw love your vids jackdaw.
Thank you so much! I agree! A Lord of Fortune would be epic! I like the idea of being a Tevinter Siccari too!
Why does solas have such animus toward the Greywardens? What does he know about blights?
If this scheme not interesting I'm outta there the kitty is out of the bag and it's ready to leave
My heart broken Lavellan wants to stop Solas, yet save him... but it seems like it won’t end happily.. :,(
Of course it won't end happily...When has it?
Even future solas wouldn't want solas to destroy the veil.
"This world is an abomination it should never come to pass".
Future solas.
In Solas ALL Humans will be gone, No Gods will remain, The Veil will be gone but the Fade would be merged with Thedas not consuming it.
fantastic job with this one-- concise, comprehensive, and visually engaging. thanks for putting so much intentionality & care into these lore videos!!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much for the support!
Oh God, my heart is breaking already.... Vhenan...
I romanced solas in inquisition so I cant wait to see what happens is dragon age 4
Same
Same!!
Yes, this is the escapism I need right now! I'm so ready to punch this egg...again
*gasp*
haha glad I could help! :D
You see the real reason he wants to destroy the veil is because he left his toupée in the fade and he wants it back.
Video: *thoroughly and concisely explains Sola's lore and how the Inquisitor changed everything for him*
Me: *gasping* "why am I gasping? I know this already."
ooh Mythal having an ulterior plan is super interesting! Love this Series :)
Yay, thank you so much for watching!!
That's a very good tinfoil! Thank you for this!
Men could simply be a term they used for males. There's nothing to indicate humans invented the term in Thedas.
God damnit, I could listen to Solas' voice for hours. Tell me more about The Fade oh wise egg man
hahah same, he's so wise and smooth at the same time!
He's got forehead for days... * swoons *
was the orb destroyed by falling rocks? i dont think we saw a visual of what caused it to crack? i assumed it was using it to hurl corypheus into the fade and close the breach.
My dumbass sitting here like: "In a world of dark gritty reboots, Solas is straight-up Moses gone terribly wrong."
hahah so true!!
Gosh this game cannot come soon Enough i am hyped even now and even if it was coming out next week i still would be so impatient 😲
Starting to regret drinking from the Well of Sorrows...
But will try not to hurt the other elves who do not side with him, those who do die.
me: *clutches at heart and sobs quietly* My egghead.... (literally and figuratively)
Inquisitor: i loved the part where the wardens wanted to raise a demon army
Solas: *sweating* demons are just tools
if the inquisitor is dwarven he cant be posessed so if you have dwarf drink from well of sorrows
Another excellent video, Jackdaw! I'm sure I'll rewatch it before playing DA4 since it includes everything we need to know for the next game :)
Glad you enjoyed it!!! :D
I honestly think this is going to back fire for Solas so bad.
After reading the Horror of Hormak (Hormok?) I personally can't wait to kill the Evanuris. Solas betrayal cut me deep, and I'm going return that favor in kind, screw redemption, hes going down.
I definitely think mythal is the master manipulator!
what if mythal was manipulating solas and the other gods killed mythal for betrayal
Solas had better be able to be truly redeemed or I am going to be very sad lol
You know I feel like with all the stupid ass life decisions Merrill makes, she's going to run off and join Solas.
Solas used many names (ex:-Solas, Fen'Harel etc). What was Solas's real name when he was an elven king before he becomes a god?
"I was Solas first, Fen'Harel came later."
He was 'Solas' before the Pantheon.
WHOA!! How did you find out about this meeting where Solas disguised himself, killed the other spies, and then revealed himself to the inquisitor spies?! Where did I miss this?!
It's in Tevinter Nights. It's an awesome story
@@alainecollins6532 WHAT?! How do I get this??? I need this in my life..!

Solas is on his way to cancelling the Evanuris. 😅
hahhaha Andriul is CANCELLED!
@@JackdawYT omg :)) yes. There's been plenty of allegations about her killing Mythal after all.
Don't worry I'm sure we'll have to do all the legwork and fighting. Then he walks in and kills them before we could cocking us.
@@flamesofchaos13 like the trickster god that he is :))
What if the demons that are in the fade are the old gods or agents of the old gods trying to get out
Who do you think Briala would side with?
Very good question, perhaps Solas considering the majority of the elves are siding with him as he plans on redeeming their kingdom.
I'm telling you, Mythal will betray him, all will be lost, and in a superhero moment Sandal will make his badass entrance xD
Well of sorrows more like the well of alcohol, because I’m going to need it for DA4
yay!!!
hi guy i am new to DA and love every bit of it i am play on xbox 1 was wondering if anybody could tell me on all the videos here the characters have different clothes and hair styles than mine how do i get them
Eggy better still have that tier 3 gear, or hes dead!
Here question veils was around before dread wolf ever created would double standard
What??
👍👍👍👍👍
If Solas reassumes his godhood, could be not simply create his own country for elves like Dales? Surely he could make the other countries submit
Is it possible that each race has its own gods? The Old Gods belong to humans, the Evanuris belong to Elves, the Titans belong to Dwarves, the Kossith (?) belong to Qunari?
I don't know. The world is on fire and I'm confused.
I wonder if you get to play as the inquisitor in DA4 or you start as something else. I hope you get to choose race.
Love Solas
the real question is IS what he doing wrong given what the humans have done to the elves this is why i hope they let us play a path that lets us side with the dread wolf
Do you think leliana will return in Da4? I hope she does.
Perhaps as the Divine! If not that, then maybe she'll send letters to our new protagonist or something like that!
@@JackdawYT i wish it would be an advisory role like in inquisition.

What evidence is there to suggest that Solas didn't absorb what was left of Mythal?
Tevinter Nights, Callback.
Mythal telling Morrigan she "will have her due ".
Mythal's supposed "reckoning that will shake the very heavens".
🥚❤
Im real sorry for not contributing with anything worthy in my comment but... Anyone else noticed the pants/shorts running about at 7:34? 🤡
Why does everyone call Solas an egg?! So infamous is this name that some never even say his name anymore, only egg! Lol
hahaha, it's just a funny nickname for him. Saying his real name brings back all the sad memories, but calling him egg boi helps with the pain.
Frenemy egg
I continue to think that Mithal is not evil. It is a nonsense what she did in the past then. She saved the Father's Alistair, save Alistair and the Warden, save Hawke, give the possibility to the Inquisitor to save Theldas with the well of Sorrow. ....she plays as a protector not as ennemy of Theldas.
I have a lot of question I want to have answers :
Is the Architect well one of 7 magister?
Can he heal the Grey Warden (because it is him which heal the mother of Alistair, Fiona)
If the Architect is well a magister where are the 5 others magisters.
