Regarding checking oil level, it needs to be done while the engine is running and operating temp! If you go by the dipstick with the engine off, you will end up overfilling the engine/oil tank and have a huge mess on your hands as will as potentially sucking in oil into the intake. With regard to it not stating, Make sure you test the crank position sensor as well as the speed sensor. These do go bad and will cause the engine to not start. Good luck with the car!
Why did you not inspect the clearance of the valves and look after broken stud bolts? By the way: I have a Carrera 1987 which stood for more than 20 years in my garage without driving. Made same work like you. Steering wheel is on the correct side (right). Greetings from Bavaria.
Cheers Mate from the USA. I’m a new Porsche owner also and building 2 VW beetles and lots of American hot rods on my channel. I just subscribed to your channel and will be keeping up with your content. Congratulations on buying a nice 911 -Spanky
No offense, but I stopped watching when I realized you'd removed, cleaned, and reinstalled the covers over the valve train without bothering to check the valve clearances. ???
Yes I wasn’t aware that they should be checked. I’ve had a few comments on that so will revisit and sort. Will I need to replace the gaskets or will them be of to ‘re-use’? Thanks for watching

@@blandsbarnIf you inspect it you need new gaskets. I bought the version with silicon traces.
Final inspection of oil level you must do at idling and hot engine. If you want I can tell you videos regarding oil level.
