Just discovered your channel here in St. Louis, MO...enjoying your videos. I have an 03 Z4 with the 2.5i. How in the world did you get the convertible top motor out of that compartment? Looks like you might have pried it out with a screwdriver?? I think my motor is working properly, but I'm definitely leaking hydraulic fluid so I'm not sure what to do. I'll keep plugging away at it.

For the fuel lines put electrical tape over the braid before cutting then put the fittings on

Trust me, you can never be too geeky well worth the wait. Can't wait for the next episode. I was mechanic for Paul Grimer back in the day we used Salisbury diffs. It was my job to change them if conditions changed good fun laid on your back in a muddy puddle 😂 but I could do it in less than 10 minutes. I'm very interested to see how things have moved on now, keep up the good work!!

I bought a 3l e85 z4 for cheap (spent a bit restoring it), and I get what you mean with the trim under the handbrake. Thats just a coin tray for most people, which will get scratched at it appears to be painted plastic. I'm not keen on the carbon stickers, but those don't look too bad, but I'd rather not. I'll probably wind up getting the gear stick gator and steeringwheel re-trimmed and swap out /re-trim the seats. It is a fun car to drive, there is no denying that, but the gold wheels and the grills look ricey af:)

Just looked at some photos from Ipswich the front of the all black car with no writing on looks scary especially in someone's rear view mirror

by the look at the pics in your garage you raced spaceframe nationals. So even with the evolution these cars did lately you can adapt fast. would be different if you last raced a car like early Starlets. All the best from germany. Hope you get a good start.

I really enjoyed this video. It's to the point. I have a 2005 Z4. I love it. However I have a 2006 with no motor or transmission. I'm going to gut it completely and install I 6.2 ls2 with a 4L80 transmission.

We learn by our mistakes mate, trail and error sometimes - but having the tenacity to keep going, that’s what it’s all about 👌🏻👍🏻

Interesting vid as I recently had the bumper off with similar issue of broken plastics and missing fixings. The clips and star washers are quite cheap from BMW. Have you sealed the foam in the door card with anything? Our Z4 had a water leak that soaked the carpets which was due to the foam inner piece (that you cut) in the door, not sealing properly allowing any water that runs through the door to get into the car. The angle of the door means that the foam seal is integral to keeping out water and a pig of a job to dry the car out. The seal in the caps on the back of the headlights also seem to leak if they are removed, which may be the reason for the condensation on the old lights - eventually it will destroy the ballast if xenons are fitted, as it drains water into the 'sealed' box under the headlight.

Did your indicators flash fast and trigger the “bulb out” light after changing the headlights?

What bulb did u have to put in? Was a H1 for lowbeam? R u Happy with the supplied H7 highbeam or would it be good to use h7 philip whites?
