Hi. What I think is missing in your explanation is that for each such session you are creating a separate catalog with smart previous.
This means that if in theory you had another catalog with all the photos from all your weddings then the changes made in the specific catalog change will not be reflected into the catalog that has all the weddings.

as the editor, how do we properly export the catalog to be reopened by the main photographer?

Close the catalog and then zip it up! No need to export a new one!

How does the editor export to send back? That’s what I’m having trouble with when my clients send me smart preview catalogs
