snarky puppy it's one of that bands you can hear 100 times and still fells like the first time
Facts
Indeed... furthermore, each time I notice a new sound, a new note and even a new silence.
Yeah, they are so amazing!
Me knowing that I still haven’t practiced today and it’s already past midnight
Also me: sNarKy PuPpY¿!
There's still time!
Such rel8
Twoset would be upset. Go practice
The composition of this is fucking brilliant. Michael League is a genius.
No way is there a single human on planet earth who wants anything more in life than to hear Skate U and Slow Demon remastered along with Flood
Don't forget Good Man Delivered....
Whole record coming!
and definitely WHITECAP!
maybe, me

The remaster you never ask but you need the most
Me waiting for Binky’s hopeful remaster in 2022
@@LSA2013 Binky is fire
Why was it needed?????
The song that got me into Snarky Puppy.
Same
Same here.
Amen
Same here.
#InTheBeginning
It's honestly like listening to a completely different song. There's so many details that I missed in the old mix that I can hear now. Too cool!

That jump back into the ending will always be one of the best snarky moments.
The first time I ever heard this song was at my friend’s drum recital. The crowd went so crazy for the jump back, I assumed it was an on-the-fly call. Then I heard the original...
Here’s his band: th-cam.com/video/bM1eG0w-D2Y/w-d-xo.html
@@Ravelle17 what’s the band’s name?
@@bignatec1000 Ode to Omni
and would you look at that-i found the exact performance I initially referenced: th-cam.com/video/rR8L6oIbY-k/w-d-xo.html
The requirements for membership in Snarky Puppy are simple: 1) Be an absolute virtuoso on your chosen instrument and 2) Play long, complex arrangements from memory, flawlessly. In other words be 1 in 1,000,000 to get an audition.
Mate that solo sounds ten times better now how is that even possible...? And the brass section, OOF.
Snarky Puppy, just a world to listen and learn
4:40 this polyrhythm from the drummer is absolutely insane
Facts!
4/4 over 5/4. It works well with the bass line as its on the 1 and the 'and of 3' in 5/4 but on 1 and 3 in 4/4. If you do the maths, the bass line rhythm for 1 bar is a minim tied with a quaver and then the same again to complete the bar, with the polyrhythm the drums are playing 1 and 3 which when isolated is the same as the 5/4 rhythm. However throw in the 4/4 crochet subdivisions and you get a crotchet tied with a semiquaver in 5/4. Sorry for rambling, but it's just so cool.
Thats not polyrhythm haha
Sput Searight, baby
This was my favorite from the first album, so I'm glad it got remastered
4th album*
One of my favourite Snarky Puppy replay moments is hearing the groove between the bass, drums, and that super tasty synth solo 😃
I played this song so much so much around my friends it became a meme. This song means a TON to me and I appreciate this upload SO much. Thank you SP!!! I'll see my fourth show sometime soon.
The skill level of all these musicians and the fidelity of this recording is outstanding!
Sput on drums, what a monster
Needs larnell let’s be honest
@@Snook_ no sput is the drummer for this song
Snook they are both amazingly talented and they are like brothers
@@mjdubzott99 Sput is disgustingly talented. I got to see him with Ghost-Note at the beginning of this year before Covid nuked the world. He's incredible (along with the rest of GN).
Snook That’s a stupid & disrespectful thing to say yo! Like really??? Sput helped build the sound SP is known for. Sometimes you should keep your opinions to yourself! We go back over 30yrs +, and we’re close in age, but he’s been a big influence on me. I know for a fact that’s the same for Jamison & Larnell as well. Especially in how we approach the SP drum chair. Again, I know everyone has an opinion, but that was disrespectful.
I feel like the original mix embraces the context of the room it was recorded in, it's quite warm, dry, mid range very present. It's as though the new mix aims to contextualise the instruments into a new space, leading to a greater distinction between low end and high end, a scooped mid sort of sound, more use of spacial elements and effects.
My favourite Snarky Puppy song. The one that introduced to the band whilst studying in Uni. From this one song, I've got the albums and been to all their London shows!
I love the way these folks pay homage to the jazz sounds of the 70s - the kind of jazz I grew up with. Especially the horns and electric piano.
*2am* sure I'll just watch this and not sleep. Who needs sleep when you can hear the string trio super clearly...and that previously unheard, but really cruncy Trumpet harmony at 7:18,7:35,7:59 🔥😂 C is for crunchy
Im dead💀☠
This is the absolute cure for any headache you might have.
The first time I heard this was live in Dallas and I had never listened to them before. Little did I know that my music tastes would completely change after listening to these guys. These guys are truly amazing.
The whole thing is sharper. I can hear things I missed before. You brought the percussion forward and let me hear the bass riffs too, nice job. The original felt more like an LP, where everything blends. This brings out each of the musician's performances. Both are different, and both are fabulous.
man this song is AMAZING
Not sure why the remaster was needed. The original was wicked. Suuuuuuch an amazing band.
I agree with you. Why mess with perfection?
I been in love with this song for yrs
2009, they look so young, and already masterful! 😃
Man I wish the video of them performing skate u at this same studio session was still on TH-cam. Haven't been able to find it in forever and it's my favorite version of skate u
Well, it's up now
Only one word: PERFECTION !!!! Congratulations to Sput and the whole band !!!
2020 remaster, only 480p.... Nani!!!
But seriously love you guys,
now upload 1080 and above :D
I doubt they have the footage in a higher quality. This was 2009, you know.
Lovely! Remember hearing a version of this track at GUM Fest 2019. Mark Lettieri started Flood with an Insane Guitar Solo!!! And then, the groove came along. Wonderful Memories :). Thank you Snarky Puppy for the 10-year anniversary edition of FLOOD!
I never heard this song until a couple days ago! I got the first album now !!
this was the first ever Snarky tune I listened to after a wild ride of clicking on related videos from an Evan Marien/Dana Hawkins video quite a few years ago :D
This feels like stepping into the future, from the past... if you know what I mean...
The drummers though 🤯
That snare... Brings this masterpiece back to life!! Also the horns sounding cripsy!! Nice job Mike and Nic
IT NEVER GETS OLD!
Drums on *hard* mode!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
"Wrist Breaker Mode"
First song that introduced my to Snarky Puppy back in 2010
This is the song that made me fall in love with Snarky 🔥
Me too !!! a marvellous song full of subtleties ! Perfection ! Congratulations to Sput and the whole band !
SNARKUS PUPUS ROCKS!
Tell me these 'guys' are not into Genesis. Great jazz. Love it.
This is like great classical music electrified omg just so beautiful but so jazzy thank you ears for indulging me
Who else is listening to this going back and forth between the original mix and the remaster?
Two batches of cookies, same ingredients, different ratios. MUST EAT ALL THE COOKIES AT THE SAME TIME.
Quite a bit wetter, and more top end, is what I'm getting.
@@timangus that's what I got too. I love the way the strings and the percussion sound on this remaster, super crisp. I also think the change in timbre on the synth solo is cool.
I can't say I'm in love with some of the extra wetness on the horns. I also like that Chris bullock's sax is mixed a bit higher on this one but it could have come down a bit. I also wish the bass had a teensy bit more prominence in the mix.
Can anyone explain this wetness business to a mixing/mastering layman
@@vicentealvarado5608 wetness is usually a reference to the amount of reverb signal sent to an audio source. The most noticable difference here would be Bill's solo almost halfway through the piece.
Damn, Justin Stanton really Cory Henryied that solo on that one.
Justin’s was first.
Snarky Puppy is my world, bro
Best band in the world
Amazing song amazing band.
waooooooow.....la claque!!!!!!! trop trop trop bon....... j adore snarky puppy!!!!!!!
The snare and synth sound soo much better
Ohhh man the good old days. Sounds delicious!
Honestly one of the coolest songs ever, I makes me so happy/inspired every time I watch
You can tell it’s phresh the moment Sput comes in. Sounds great
Love that they're remastering the whole album! I definitely prefer this mix over the original. One of my favorite SP tunes
You are all just absolutely brilliant musicians! Thank you!!!
OMG, they are so babies, what a cuties! Always surprising the world with their geniality. I simply love this band.
i honestly love everything about this but the snare.
Yeah dude, you think that's sample replacement? Think I can hear the original snare subtly from some overheads, plus watching the video you can see ghost notes being played that don't make it into the audio.
yeah. it just doesn’t even sound real
It's hard to get past
@@TheJackster95 Might be due to gating of the snare close mics.
that's the first thing i noticed too. His snare sounds like dog shit in this lol.
I'm a simple man... I see "Snarky Puppy" and click
This was the song that introduced me to snarky puppy's music, every single time I hear it again it feels like the first time.
That jam was outside, love this band.
Saw them play this live, just an incredible band.
Lucky you !!!
The bit towards the ending is my favorite
It still my favorite song!! Thanks!!!
"OMG"!!!!! Perfection at it's best. Every time I hear this bad. They get better and better, Dam that drummer is awesome.
This was absolutely fantastic! Still my favorite band of all time! You guys continue to earn that! Magic baby 🔥❤🎉🥳🥰
OMG sounds SOOO good. I didn't realize how much I needed this right now until I heard it. BRAVO :-)
7:52 That's the fastest a human being has ever moved.
Lol.
Scientists are now using Michael League at the CERN to lauch particules at high speed inside of the LHC.
😂
Love and admiration, Snarky Puppy! Staying hungry for more!
It almost kinda looks like the audio was done on its own and they are just playing some random old footage of another recording haha! This remastered version is great, first song I personally ever heard from Snarky 8 years ago.
7:45 "EEEEEGGGGHHH ... SnArkHeY POOUUpY!" Good thing they didn't edit that out.
This is frickin awesome
Congrats Nic Hard Dave MCNair!! Great job, there is more air in this mix.. Love it!
Can't wait to see you in Rome during September!! Great song, keep up the good work
Somehow that second ending still catches me off guard
This satisfies my entire spirit! The remaster I never knew I needed, but gladly accept. 😄
The remaster is 🔥🔥 its lit the sound 🔊 quality is on another level
The sound of a good Denton house party
This is so, so good.
Damn it's been 10 year since this was first recorded! Also, I didn't know that Sput used to play Soultone before Meinl.
Rhythm-arrangement damned tricky. Sput doing a great job! :)
The Snarky Puppy magic! Keep it coming guys.
Fantastic musicians! Wow!
My favorite band in the world.
Looking forward to the rest of the album! Most deserving Snarky album of another look. Never been happy about someone losing original masters before!
i have not yet come up with an aedequate titlefor the playlist that i am going to begin with this :-)
Still a classic!
Now this sounds like it was composed and performed yesterday
Very excited to see what you all are cooking up for this release! 🤔
Well done:)! The energy you exude with this cut...is welcome! Thank you!!!
Brasil loved Snarky Puppy !!!!
When the song is completely perfect but you still missing Cory Henry lol
AMAZING 💥💯❤
great mix & mastering.. the bass is alive!!!!
Love this track
EPIC!!!
Thanks for making quarantine better.
Yeah!!!!
My favorite Snarky Puppy video with one of my favorite songs!
This music tells me a message: "things will be fine..."
I got (a lot of ) tears in my eyes...
