Sims 3 tends to retcon things that weren’t true in the previous games. But Sims 2 botched the timeline to force Dina’s love story to fit. In sims 1 he’s much younger than Bella.
Yeah, I feel like the lore in sims games should be taken with a grain of salt, for example, in the Sims 3, Kaylynn Langerak is the same age as Mortimer and Bella, a child, but in the sims 2, she is and adult, nowhere close to being and elder, which she should be following the sims 3, or another example, the half alien sisters from Strangetown Lola and Chloe Singles(Curious) are supposed to be twins(they are like 8 sims days apart in age lol) and they are also supposed to be the first children of Glarn Curious, so they would probably have to be elders, because their younger half sister Jenny is almost an elder when you start the game. I like the sims community, don´t get me wrong, but sometimes I feel like they are grabbing at straws with the theories about the age discrepancies and sim´s clones and stuff, when it´s just mistakes made by the developers or game files we were never even supposed to see

Maybe he didn't go to college straight out of high school, (totally possible) and between ages 18 and 34, he either lived with his parents still or got a job and later wanted to go to college. It's possible to be 34 and still not know what you wanna do with your life. Then he would be around 63 in Sims 2, still enough time to be old enough to be an Elder and die of old age recently. Now, behind the scenes, it's likely that Michael Bachelor, in Sims 1, was never meant to be Bella's brother, and then in Sims 2, when they were making Bella's family they decided to make Michael Bella's brother and give her the maiden name Bachelor, without thinking about the actual math and were like "oh yeah he's an adult in Sims 1, so he'll be old and dead by Sims 2" and made him married to Dina to highlight her "gold digger" personality and how she loves marrying older guys, so she married him, he died, and now is after her late husband's brother-in-law. Love your theory, to be honest I've always found the clone theory pretty weird because as you say, they probably weren't expecting everyone to look into the code
So let's assume that during development of the Sims 1 there were 2 Michaels. But because of limited runtime and disk space, one got left out. Now. In The Sims 1 there is no obvious connection between Bella and Michael. This only came about in the Sims 2 and 3. So I'm gonna say that Michael was designed to be a solitairy entity. 20+, fresh outta collage, ready to dive into life. No connections. Than came The Sims 2, where they took Bella and his twin into the equation and aged him double up. (20 + 25 = 45, but he looks like 70.) Now, this doesn't make sense. I theorize that in order for the character of Dina to work, they needed a solitairy person who could serve as a building ground. Now, Michael was the only contender. The clone is perhaps an evolution of the 'original' Michael, just a guy who's unrelated to Bella. So they had the choice: either build this Dina story and make him related to Bella to explain away some plot holes, or have him be solo and take it from there. Now, since they chose the first one, they were forced, by lore, to include him with the Goths in The Sims 3. And to be consistent with the Sims 1, he was a kid too. I think Michael is in flux. He is a character that is used to fill up story holes and not really be consistent with the lore because he doesn't really have a backstory, nor anything going for him. Mrs. Crumplebottom was also a solitairy character, but her story was very clear. Disenchated spinster who lost her husband and never got over it. That is a fairly easy ground to build from. So yeah. I'm done. 😆
I still believe that Michael is the older brother even though he is just graduating college in the sims 1 while his younger sister is married with a young daughter. Some people go to college late or much later in life like ... 40's or 50's and he could be in his late 30's or early 40's and just graduating college. It also depends on how old Bella was when she and Mortimer got married and had Cassandra and how much their age difference is.
Gotta say sims 2 seemed to be made with the most love so I would like to think someone planned the clone theory and has been rubbing their hands together in silent appreciation of all the folks who took the time to figure it out
Michael and Bella weren't actually related or thought of as related in The Sims 1. It was added for The Sims 2, so while I personally really enjoy the elixir of life theory, I think it's simply just a case of Maxis deciding they should be related in the second game and retconned the story.
I also thought it was weird how he went to College super late... I mean, The moment he is out, his little sister is literally married and has a daughter. So what I do when I play the sims 3 is send him to the military career once he turns into a young adult. I think it would make sense at the time to be mandatory to serve in the military but obviously I dunno for sure xD then, after he is in the military career for awhile I send him to College
I think every Sims 3 World has its own unique spot on the lore timeline and that they are not all exactly 25 years before the events of TS1, only Sunset Valley is. This theory helps to make sense of a lot of the ages of classic townies in other worlds, such as the Caliente sisters as YAs in Barnacle Bay. I tried before to place every Sims 3 world on the timeline before but it gave me a headache and I gave up 😂. I would love to see a video trying to break down where each world most logically fits. Beware - some worlds have timeline errors that exist within the worlds themselves so it's impossible to find the perfect spot for them on a timeline, for example Riverview with Skip Brookes as you discussed in your video on him.😆
That’s what I always thought. I don’t remember where I heard it (so maybe it was a theory, not outright confirmed) but I definitely read it somewhere. They all take place before Sims 2, but not all on the same point. Sunset Valley takes place fifty years before Sims 2 with Michael as a teen, but Barnacle Bay could be set after he died and right before the Caliente twins moved to Pleasantview, so like only a year or two earlier. Sunlit Tides and Lucky Palms would be about twenty years before Sims 2, since Daniel and Mary-Sue and Darren (and Darleen) are all young adults (who have teens in Pleasantview), and Dragon Valley is probably fifteen years earlier, since John and Jennifer are engaged, and Lucy can’t be older than ten in Sims 2. Pretty much every store world has someone from Sims 2 base game; I definitely think each world is a slightly different point on the timeline.

For some reason I feel like Bella and Michael didn't end up getting along well as they grew up, but Michael and Mortimer did because both were scientists. I feel like maybe Bella got tired of the life with Mortimer (in the sims 2 they don't really like each other). On the other hand, Michael probably knew Skip. My theory is that Bella met Skip through Michael (or maybe even Mortimer). Bella didn't like "being kept young" with the elixir her husband and brother seemed obsessed with, and she didn't have much in common with either of them. But Skip was a scientist who had the romance aspiration like Bella. So maybe Bella met him and fell in love, which caused her to have an affair and have a bad relationship with Mortimer (and maybe Mortimer arranged her disappearance? Who knows) Both Michael and Skip seemed to be cloned. Maybe Skip got cloned as an experiment (getting paid by Michael), and maybe it's possible that Mortimer (or someone else? Michael? His wife?) killed him in that little pool due to his possible affair (or maybe just knowing too much). Alexander Goth seems to piece some clues together, and at some point seems to get in contact with Bella (the real one), and gossip about Mortimer. It could be that Alexander wrote the book "Murder in Pleasantview" about Bella, but it's also a possibility that the book is about Skip. Mortimer maybe knew Dina through Michael, which is how he could have contacted her to have Bella abducted, and he moved on pretty quickly and started romancing Dina. What about Michael's clone? I think maybe he cloned himself as an experiment, but decided to use his clone to take his identity. Maybe Michael knew about Bella's affair, maybe he felt like Dina was going to cheat on him, or maybe he felt scared that the consequences of cloning Skip (and possibly Brandi as well) would fall on him. He set up his clone to live his life, and then he ran away while also taking the elixir with him to keep himself young. Maybe he even traveled to the past to continue living his life in the sims 1 (without having any connections to Bella), but I wouldn't know how that's possible since Cassandra was the one who invented the time machine. Timelapse things I guess?
Continuing with this, if it's true that Alexander wrote a book that changed the future and created the sims 4, maybe it would explain why Bella and Mortimer are very much in love in the sims 4 and she has no connections to Michael, and also the Broke family doesn't seem to exist. In this timeline Bella and Michael simply didn't get along, he didn't keep contact with Mortimer, he went to university, graduated and kept doing his life far away from Bella. Bella never met Skip (and Skip maybe didn't even meet Brandi at all either) and never fell out of love with Mortimer. She never got abducted, no one got cloned (maybe the clone machine was actually never invented), Michael never married Dina, Dina and Mortimer never became a thing, no one got murdered. So basically Alexander made the best reality possible lol
Snack report: Blueberry poptarts Also I’ve recently been playing the bachelor household in sims 3 and I’ve been trying to get Michael to look more like his sims 2 and 1 counterparts but I’m terrible with the CAS so it’s still a work in progress lol. Sims 3 had a lot of weird things going on with the timeline though like Kaylynn being the same age as Mortimer or skip broke being a toddler while Brandi’s parents are still teenagers (side note but in the sims 1, Brandi’s parents still hadn’t conceived her, which meant that Brandi was a 24 ish widow with 2 kids and 1 on the way? She really did have life on hard mode)
My theory is Michael wasted money or failed at his career, so Dina wasn't going to inherit the fortune she expected. Meanwhile, Nina was a Don's lover, a younger and richer man than Michael. So, Dina and Don developed a secret relationship. Dina couldn't convince Don to begin a steady relationship and got angry with him (that's why Don doesn't have a close relationship with her at the start of the game). However, Mortimer felt in love with Dina and she is glad to be the girlfriend of the richest Sim in the neighborhood. Both Michael and Dina are a parody of middle class people that spent too much money as if they were rich in the early 2000's. Michael's father is another example because his house is very expensive, but he just has 4,000 simoleons in his household in the Sims 3. He wants to be richer according to his lifetime wish, so he may suggest or force Bella to marry Mortimer. I've always thought Goth's marriages were arranged except Agnes-Erick.
I mean couldn’t the “clone” Micheal potentially be the child of Dina and Micheal as a safeguard if the cloning tech failed. Especially if they used alien tech.
I find Michael Bachelor story interesting, but he’s also my Lepacy legacy husband in the sims 3 lol. I’m also having lunch. Lunch is left over chicken enchiladas.

I hope someday I can support you more throughout the channel.❣
see what makes this one so difficult for me is how Dina allegedly inherited Michael's house.. HOWEVER, Dina and Nina only moved to pleasant view the day of Bella's disappearance, together, so if Dina inherited Michael's house, where did she come from originally, how did they actually meet despite them not living in the same neighborhood previously, and.. how did both Dina and Nina only show up to pleasant view the day before Bella's disappearance if Dina was previously living with her husband.. and does that also mean Michael died a day before Bella's disappearance, since Dina inherited the house and both Dina and Nina are described to have only moved to pleasant view the day before Bella's disappearance? and I know I'm reading into it much further than the developers ever intended but I feel like there's SO much to this specific rabbit hole
I was wondering if you could make a video on why the Sims 4 is a different timeline. My theory is that by Alex traveling thought time, time warped and created a new timeline. I was also wondering if you could make a video in the Sims 4 goths in relation to this. Edit: snack report cookies and tea.
Yes, I think Sims 4 is the "end" of the Goth theory, Alex travelled through time to save Bella, ended in the Sims 3 and wrote the book Murder in Pleasantview, finally made a new time machine and ended in this new timeline where Bella was never abducted
I've been going through some hard stuff in life lately but your videos really cheer me up. I've been playing Sims since 2000 so all of this is so fascinating to me. Nostalgia. Such good memories.
I always wondered if after Michael’s death, and Bella’s disappearance, if Mortimer & Dina just mourned together & an organic relationship blossomed. Part of me wants to believe she’s not a gold digger, and is ambitious. (Do her memories reflect an inheritance after Michael’s death? If yes, probably gold digger, if not, definitely not.) Although for drama purposes, I love to believe that she’s a scary gold digger who had her alien ancestors get rid of Bella so she could have the wealth she’d always wanted, lol! Except I almost always make Cassandra and Dina enemies and my queen Cassandra always keeps the wealth and mansion & kicks them out. Power moves only
When it comes to Hidden Michael, I am 99% positive I’ve seen him in a family tree photo taken by someone who possibly got press access to the game a bit before it was released. It was a bit blurry, but it was definitely not the Michael from the shipped game. If I remember correctly, the UI looked like the one we have so it had to be July or August 2004, which could be reasonable for press reviews. Maxis definitely had different versions of neighborhoods to test out and decide which one they would use. Since there is no way to access the hidden Michael in the game, I think it was a simple switch to solve whatever problem they had with the original Sim.
It seems like the sims creators usually forget to add the technical side of the stories in later games. Like.. It'll say stuff like Bob and his wife in the sims 4 hate each other, but they seem to have a normal relationship.
Snack Report: a vanilla malted I’ve always headcanoned that Sims 1 Micheal just got out of med school but realized he really doesn’t want to be a doctor so he’s now trying to figure himself out. And on dying so early in the Sims 2, he was Mortimer’s first test subject for the elixir of life and it backfired on him. Idk you have to do some crazy mental gymnastics to figure out Maxis’ timeline mess.
I've heard a theory years ago that he may have been low on cash and volunteered to be Mortimer's test subject for the elixir of life. Also, Michael x Dina forever, I ship them so hard (mostly thanks to the discontinued 'Fortune and Romance' fan story).
Nice video! Another point worth mentioning is in the Sims 2 whenever you use the "Prints Charming Fingerprinting Scanner" Michael Bachelor is often the sim who pops up. Some say that he is the default token the game pulls, when it scans things. I tried this on a new saved file and visited the Goth's lot and he appeared over 45 times. Whereas Bella appears twice (back middle wedding chair and candle wall light near the kitchen - at least this is in my game). It's intriguing looking into this. But I'm left wondering why Michael Bachelor?
I've had the duplicate Michael Bachelor show up in the downtown/public areas from time to time. I never really noticed that he was supposed to be dead...

Can I recommend a household for the lore series? Because the Singleton Household in Appaloosa Plains from ts3 is kinda fishy with having a gravestone of a foal in their house...
Snack report: strawberry pie First time knowing Michael Bachelor is when I play Caliente household. The ghost of him wanders at night and scare Dina. I am also interested in resurrecting Michael. In fact, right now Gypsy brought me the genie lamp and I can bring it back legally, without tricks or modifications. However, I am a little worried because I know that the character is not 100% complete and has that strange peculiarity of considering Dina as a family member at the same time that he can have romantic interactions with her. Other than that, can you assure me that nothing bad really happens if I bring it and it works fine?

Both Michael and Skip seemed to be cloned.
I'm obsessed with your videos😅 for some reason sims lore is super interesting atm 😂
Fun facts
Bachelor translated in Dutch is single
The family in the Dutch sims 3 is called vrijvogel
The literal translation of that is freebird
That's pretty darned cool 😎
Snack report: Blueberry poptarts
Also I’ve recently been playing the bachelor household in sims 3 and I’ve been trying to get Michael to look more like his sims 2 and 1 counterparts but I’m terrible with the CAS so it’s still a work in progress lol.
She really did have life on hard mode)
omg I love the new editing mrs lore!! the new titles are amazing and super cute
Thank you so much 😊❤️
My theory is Michael wasted money or failed at his career, so Dina wasn't going to inherit the fortune she expected.
This helps a lot since I've always been very interested in Michael definitely since he is important in my sims storyline
Maybe Michael went to graduate school, and done academic research in sports, since he loves athletics so much?
We stan Mike Bachelor in this household
I mean couldn’t the “clone” Micheal potentially be the child of Dina and Micheal as a safeguard if the cloning tech failed. Especially if they used alien tech.
„…he stole Mortimer’s recipe…” and the dogs stealing the sausage 😭 brilliant love it 😂
I find Michael Bachelor story interesting, but he’s also my Lepacy legacy husband in the sims 3 lol. I’m also having lunch. Lunch is left over chicken enchiladas.
I just wanted to take a second and say thank you. Seriously you created such beautiful and wholesome memories in my mind, while playing the sims till the night, creating interesting lores and be covered in your vibe😭😅 I hope it made sense, but just thank you. I remember where you created your Chanel just from the beginning and I was begging for videos like these, because of Plumbella. I think my prayers have been heared and keept it up. I hope someday I can support you more throughout the channel.❣
Oh my gosh thank you so much for those kind words! 💕 that means so much to me I’m so happy you enjoy the content!!
@@TheSimsLore It's what you deserv seriously. So yeah haha😅 Your videos are really special for me, they are so calming.
see what makes this one so difficult for me is how Dina allegedly inherited Michael's house..
Edit: snack report cookies and tea.
true, true
by the way, Don Lothario has time traveled too!
@@Lily-gz6ug oh yeah
Yes, I think Sims 4 is the "end" of the Goth theory, Alex travelled through time to save Bella, ended in the Sims 3 and wrote the book Murder in Pleasantview, finally made a new time machine and ended in this new timeline where Bella was never abducted
In Sims 3 you can travel to the future and pick the future you wish. Sims 2 would be the normal future and Sims 4 the utopian one.
anyone notice that despite being a jock in his teens he has a low active personality in sims 1?
I've been going through some hard stuff in life lately but your videos really cheer me up. I've been playing Sims since 2000 so all of this is so fascinating to me. Nostalgia. Such good memories.
I always wondered if after Michael’s death, and Bella’s disappearance, if Mortimer & Dina just mourned together & an organic relationship blossomed. Part of me wants to believe she’s not a gold digger, and is ambitious. (Do her memories reflect an inheritance after Michael’s death? If yes, probably gold digger, if not, definitely not.)
Although for drama purposes, I love to believe that she’s a scary gold digger who had her alien ancestors get rid of Bella so she could have the wealth she’d always wanted, lol! Except I almost always make Cassandra and Dina enemies and my queen Cassandra always keeps the wealth and mansion & kicks them out. Power moves only
Just watched matpat's theory and you just happen to guessed his a month before! Damn I think you're spot on
I'm liking the new visuals you're using! Great video
Thanks so much 😌❤️
Snack report!!
Chicken burrito & pandan coconut & black sesame mochi haha
Kind of a comfort meal, perfect for this comfort video lol
Oh my god??? That sounds incredible I am so hungry now haha 😂
Since there is no way to access the hidden Michael in the game, I think it was a simple switch to solve whatever problem they had with the original Sim.
love it when i'm bingining your channel and you post something during it
Mike is very nostalgic to me because is the frist sim i played when i played the sims 1
Lady Lore, your editing is getting finer and finer with each video. Amazing work!
Snack report: tuna sandwich and iced tea.
Aw thank you so much 😊❤️🥰 and that snack report gets an A++, I looove tuna sandwiches and ice tea 😭
I'm stuck in today because of a fire in the area basically making outside unbreathable, but finding a new sims lore video just make the day less awful
Snack report: tortilla chips and spicy guacamole.
Love your videos, they're super relaxing and nostalgic for me. Thank you! xx
It seems like the sims creators usually forget to add the technical side of the stories in later games.
Like.. It'll say stuff like Bob and his wife in the sims 4 hate each other, but they seem to have a normal relationship.
Snack Report: a vanilla malted
I’ve always headcanoned that Sims 1 Micheal just got out of med school but realized he really doesn’t want to be a doctor so he’s now trying to figure himself out. And on dying so early in the Sims 2, he was Mortimer’s first test subject for the elixir of life and it backfired on him. Idk you have to do some crazy mental gymnastics to figure out Maxis’ timeline mess.
Fantastic video on sims lore!
I've heard a theory years ago that he may have been low on cash and volunteered to be Mortimer's test subject for the elixir of life.
Also, Michael x Dina forever, I ship them so hard (mostly thanks to the discontinued 'Fortune and Romance' fan story).
yesss! I loved that series!
Im just now hearing about this Fan Story you speak of. Sounds interesting.
@@lostsilver5469 Really recommend it, the quality is so good.
Snack report: Chocolate Chip Cookies dipped in caramel
I've had the duplicate Michael Bachelor show up in the downtown/public areas from time to time.
I never really noticed that he was supposed to be dead...
The bug makes sense for the clone theory.. cuz without it, it's not fun.
time index 2:53 I am confusion. 4:28 frightening, that's all I'm gonna say. 7:54 Eeeeek! I...I need a drink.
I’m having Dorito talkies
Another awesome video! I always wondered about Bella's brother but knew next to nothing about him.
Snack report: popcorn, skittles, Belgium chocolate and champagne
6:35 Well now that's an unexpected twist
Seeing Don Lothario getting kicked by the soccer guy caught me off guard.
Snack report: buffalo wings.
My fave 😌😩🤤🤤🤤
He definitely had the hook up with the elixir of life. Mortimer would have helped him and other sims in need. Makes sense.
Snack report: fasting until tonight, so no snack at the moment
YOU'RE BACK!!
Snack report, ben and jerrys topped salted caramel brownie
Oh my godddd 😩🤤🤤🤤
Thank you for this fascinating and engaging video (love the editing - it's great!).
I needed a new video to calm my ADHD mind to sleep - oh and SNACK CHECK: I'm eating a bacon and egg burrito with a coffee for brekkie🙂
I honestly think the original Michael they made on sims 2 (darker skin, popularity aspiration) feels like the right one. He also has a high relationship with Nina which makes sense. The other one has knowledge aspiration it doesn’t really fit, popularity sims are more into fitnes
Damn why do people always make Dina a bad guy xD
She is one of my favorites ♡
She can be bad and be a favourite, the best ones are 😏💕
They see her as a gold digger trying to steal the Goth family fortune.
wake up babe, theres a new sims lore video!
Snack Report: so I'm actually in the middle of dinner, which means a chicken-red onion-mushrooms-and-mayonaise pizza. Surprisingly tasty
YES! New sims lore!!! ❤️
Snack report: I am having a salad, which is more dinner than a snack per se
JUST WHEN I WAS HAVING A SNACK
Never even heard of him
im on vacation in greece bit of a crappy wifi but willing to play miss lores video💕💕
Awww thank you haha hope you’re having a great time on vacation!!! 🥰😄
We absolutely need the goth family back in sims 5, it would be cool if in sims 5 the real bella returns
Wel leuk om de achtergrond van de sims weten hihi 🤭
I woke up, saw the notification and did a little happy dance then clicked on the video lol❤
💃💃💃❤️❤️❤️❤️
Snack report: cheese and grapes!
I always enjoy your videos
Snack report: chilli and lime crackers
Snack report: chicken nugget sandwich
Sims lore is always interesting!
for my snack report im having extra gum
Also Micheal was a hacker in my game. From the very beginning. This is my personal Canon.
Snack report: Mr noodles. Chicken flavored.
Snack Report: a warm chocolate chip cookie slice from papa johns and a double cup of lemon w/echinacea tea (hot).
But doesn't he have a... bachelors degree *pudum tish*
Can I recommend a household for the lore series? Because the Singleton Household in Appaloosa Plains from ts3 is kinda fishy with having a gravestone of a foal in their house...
Snack report: strawberry pie
First time knowing Michael Bachelor is when I play Caliente household. The ghost of him wanders at night and scare Dina. I didn't pay too much attention to their lore back then, so I thought he was Dina and Nina's father when seeing photo of birthday party but Nina didn't get celebration unlike Dina (which turn out it was their wedding lol) xD
EARLY! i think the whole bachelor/goth families have a clone :0
SNACK REPORT: im having a chocolate cookie
I just got a 18+ Sims 4 ad!!!
Can you do a video about the Ruiz household in hidden Springs please?
snack report: chickfila ice
What about Strange Town Syndrom?
Yes about time.
snack: a glas of Dr Pepper aka Blood Vitae
i have a tasty ice cream with pecan nut and chocolate! yummy! Thanks for the vid
I'm sorry, Dina's alien connections? I see I have some catching up to do
Yeah, she has alien genetics because someone (I think her grandfather or great-grandfather) was abducted by aliens and had an alien child.
My sister used to make Bella cheat on Mortimor with Michael in the Sims 1 👀
😭😭😭
Very interesting 🧐 🤔
2:53 wtf💀💀
snack report: strawberry Pastry Crisps 🍓🍞
Michael's clone >>>>>>>>>>>
I hate how his skintone changed
He could also have started tanning later in life🤷🏼♀️
Do The Alvi family I want to know who is Iqbal Ex-Wife is it Kiki Alvi or Rachel Alvi is Iqbal’s Ex-wife
I've never had any problem resurrecting Michael bachelor I've also aged him down and he's had kids with Dina before you must be doing something wrong
@@elniko98 I usually just use the grim reaper phone or the Jeannie lamp to resurrect Dead Sims but the only real thing wrong with Michael's DNA I think it's just an eye color other than that you know he plays perfectly fine now Darlene dreamer is a little iffy she glitches but Michael batchelor is in better shape because I like to play with him
I had no idea there was actually Sims lore, WHAT?, WEʻLL...
Cool. **sits with my popcorn**
❤️
