Hey besties! Hope you enjoyed this! 🥹💕 I also forgot to mention that back when TS2 was released, you had to go on the actual website to download patches - which is something people did not do because they just simply didn’t know about it! Good to keep in mind as to why it was YEARS before people realised there was a bug!!!
Ok so I've had sims 2 since I was young and never downloaded patches yet always had bella turn up in strangetown???? I don't believe this story much tbh unless you tell us when it was patched please
More like 20 years of incompetence and fail to do every job position she been in. It's a pure miracle she is part of EA and it's a pure miracle we still have Sims today as a franchise. Even tho spiritually it's long dead. Bella Goth was abducted by aliens and that is all there is to it. Not sure what people dig around and try to pull information that don't exist also mention spinoff content as like it matters anything when it was made by an incompetent bunch who never even followed the actual lore. There is TS1 and TS2 as the main story. TS3 is a clusterf ck while TS4 is just a pathetic cashgrab with zero content and the characters that they included are just placeholders with recycled names so some idiots get cashgrabed on nostalgia. Even tho far as I gathered no one from the old days bought 4 anyway. It's all new people or people who were kids and have no clue wtf 1 and 2 even is about but sure enough call themselves fans of it for sake of simpathy or edginess, same crap.
I got sims 4 before 3, now im getting sims 2 after 3, i am not playing cuz im “edgy” im playing because its one of the few good simulators as of now, im playing late because when the games came out i was very little and my family never got me it as i didnt know its existence as a young child. I was born in 2005. So no I didnt get to start on the orginals like you as by the time i knew of the games, the sims 2 and sims 1 wasnt even able to be bought anymore: so dont assume the newer players are some pathetic group, reality its a game and people are gonna play it.
@@minmogrovingstrongandhealthy I started with sims 2 my mom was obsessed with the sims so obviously I got to start early I have the sims 3 doesn't hold dear to my heart as sims 2 I bought the sims 4 in hopes they'd continue the storyline and at the time all this was promised we just didn't get any of what we were actually promised it's kinda obvious they scraped the original sims 4 and started a new one got pressured by the release date and released it early before it was even done as a sims fan I can say that just cuz they didn't play 1 and 2 doesn't mean their not fans of the game they just know a different generation than we do they got better house building tools and decor where as we had better story telling and hidden secrets in the game because at the time that was what everyone wanted now they wanna be able to build houses so they get to do that doesn't make them any else of a fan just makes them different
@@missrenaitre You are quite braindead to ping people with such pointless comments. Enjoy being reported and enjoy the ignorelist. Good luck growing up.
I had a feeling Strangetown Bella could be the real Bella I remember that Playstation Sims 2 Bella did reveal that she's scared because she was abducted by aliens and talked about her relationship with her family.
I remember my friend telling me if you found Bella in Strangetown then you "won" Sims 2. I low-key believed her until I saw her just chilling around town and nothing happened 🤣
I always thought that the saddest part about Bella goth being abducted then dropped off in strange town was that she could never return to her family. That was always so heart breaking to me, even though she never showed up in my strange town when I played the sims 2.
I was really surprised, when my Alexander went to University she somehow was suddenly there to give him a ride to uni. I always believed this must be Alexander’s dream, he is missing her so much. Also weird that in the closet of the goths there still is Bellas outfit!
Im so confused as to how Lindsay had such a huge involvement with the biggest mystery and best story of the entire series, and yet since she's been in a higher position with the sims 4, she has not implemented this obviously brilliant story telling into the sims 4... maybe its because she's in a higher position she is less hands on, but still, wouldnt you think she would realize the significance of this for the fan base? The sims 4 feels so empty and dead for so many reasons but I think the lack of story telling is the biggest. I hate that they simply use bios to tell stories and they never actually SHOW us you know? Anyways, fantastic video! Love anything to do with Bella Goth and The Sims 2!
Yeah that information surprised me too, I may be wrong but it feels like she (and all other senior devs in The Sims) don't care about the franchise as much as they once cared. I think it's more about the money now, that's why SIms 4 is so bland compared to others.
@@Lua_ I completely agree. It's disheartening to see, such potential just wasted tbh. I hope they can improve the franchise one day, but it definitely won't be with the sims 4...
My speculation is that back in the day they didn't have as much constraints by the executives or investors, therefore they could hide many things that nowadays would be discovered instantly. It's only my guess though
Same! I don’t play the sims 4 anymore but when it was released I was surprised to see that Bella was just… back with her family… no aliens or any drama she was just back with no explanation of if this was before or after the abduction etc. And the “other timeline” stuff abt the sims 4 is BS bc that wasn’t an excuse till well after the release.
I totally agree that the Sims 2 pushes for imagination over full storytelling. The characters are iconic now, but they were originally just a means to an end (which, with how much we obsess over premades now, is mindblowing). When I was a kid that lack of a satisfying ending for Bella was really annoying to me (also I didn't know about Strangetown Bella at all because I barely played that town after being freaked out the first few times lol). Now I value that highly because it's in part what makes me love those characters so much. Making up and connecting the storylines is the most fun tbh.
Funny thing is, they kind of ran with fan theories again once reaching The Sims 3, although not as obvious as in The Sims 2. There is some interesting information to be found that contradicts that Bella ever ended up in Strangetown… 🧐
@@rayyfakih2206 I think @Felicia is talking about all the different (sometimes inconsistent) ways that the Sims team leaned into the mystery. There are, for example: - A character interview with Bella Goth, indicating ST Bella is PV Bella - A continuation in a spin-off game where ST Bella is trying to get home (and it's implied she does) - A book ("Murder in Pleasantview") in TS3 by Alexander Goth, years before he was born, implying that Alexander time-traveled (to find/warn Bella) - A spin-off/console title where Alexander Goth is an adult in the science career, doubling down on the "Alexander Goth time-travels (to find Bella)" idea - A DLC world for TS3 where, in the distant future, Bella Goth is an elderly ghost on an alien planet - Flavor text implying the aliens are, or were, worshiping Bella as some sort of goddess-queen - A separate DLC for TS3 where a Bella-look-alike lives as a resident of the future (some people suggest she is secretly Bella's long-lost daughter, though that's probably not the case - she's probably just one of Alexander's descendants).
@@jennynoelle6782 All true but the reality is it's just incosistency and incompetence of the developers to actually follow lore. 1) TS3 was made from scratch 2-3 times and by bunch of new people in a circlejerk of coming up and quitting their job and some things were recycled from old data. Who ever decided to include those books failed to realize that the game is set to be a prequel not a sequel. Hence why also TS3 ran like dogsh¬t when it was released since it ran on a broken unfinished game engine. 2) the DLC once again was made by different people since the devs quit once again, they ran with the time travel theory made up by some bored fans, hey this is cool lets use it, completely ignoring the TS2 lore of she being abducted by aliens and gone 3) TS4 once again was made by new people and each DLC basically have new devs attached with the direction of this incompetent Lindsey person. Sims is just a bunch of inconsistent crap that is solely present as desperate cashgrab and that is all there is to it People overthink it and fuel this BS while EA just desperately milks it ...
Well, if the game developers say that the Bella in Strangetown is the REAL one, hear this. What if the real reason why Mortimer and Bella (Pleasantview version) would not be attracted to each other and fight all the time after resurrecting her... is because she is the alien clone one? And Mortimer realized the truth over time? Heck, Alexander could be half-alien in this case because real Bella would be long lost. And someone just killed or kidnapped the clone and somehow Mortimer benefited from it (+10000 simoleons memory) because he wanted to get rid of fake Bella? I should get back to work instead of writing this but I couldn't help it😂
I keep seeing people using Mortimer's 10k simoleans memory as something nefarious, rather than just the mere fact that he earned that through climbing up the ladder of his career. Honestly, I just am rather confused by that theory, perhaps you might shed some more light for a better understanding? In nearly every itineration of The Sims (console and hand helds included), Bella and Mortimer's relationship scores were near maxed. So why would Mortimer want his wife to disappear? Mortimer was born into wealth, and was a knowledge sim in the Sims 2... Bella was already Mortimer's BFF in the prequels (including Sims 3), but Sims 2 did her dirty, making her a romance sim. Of course, while the attraction system was not implemented until NightLife, prior to that (or an unpatched version of the base game), Bella, and any other romance Sims, did not autonomously become serial romancers, but could be played as one-true-love romance characters. Sadly, they were not even able to rectify that original concept, because romance Sims (especially after adding the attraction system, as well as, later adding in secondary aspirations), were all hard-coded to be serial romancers. That was finally rectified in Sims 3, with traits taking over, but of course, Bella and Mortimer are children, so those traits do not surface until they age up to teens anyway. I am in no way trying to degrade your interpretations, nor anyone else that keeps trying to rationalize a more nefarious or somwhat evil version of Mortimer, because that is rather the charm of the game, the player decides their journey and interpretations. I just really want someone to elaborate how they can come to that conclusion, if you have the time, and care to elaborate, I am rather curious?
Hi@@TheMya1988 , first of all, thank you for your kind reply. ❤︎ I hope that I understood your point well and will try to explain it from here. It might get a little long though... I see people putting 1 and 2 together, everyone is so creative and brilliant in this community. They take the material and re-shape it whatever the way they want. So much information that I heard and read, which are kind of all mixed in my head. It’s like a soup in there. If there was something that I said was wrong, because there was a fact that proved it wrong, I apologize. You are obviously much more well-informed than I do, but please kindly think that what I wrote was just for fun, and it is definitely not that great. 😂 Just tried to take a different perspective on what was on the plate and share it. (If someone already wrote about it before, it wasn't intentional, so I apologize for that, too.) The bug with Bella, the memory system in The Sims 2, blonde Bella Goth (time traveler?), two Bellas in one universe, Pleasantview Bella having Romance as an aspiration (in which I agree that what they did to her sucks)… the timeline, parallel worlds, the timing of the memories, etc. Honestly, if anyone could create a theory that connects ALL of these dots together, and storify it to explain, that’d make the greatest movie, I bet. Some of those dots remain unexplained or left out in these theories and I guess that’s the beauty of it. Endless possibilities! ------------------------------------------------------------ I should’ve put more details about my comment, I am sorry for causing confusion. My theory is as follows: * Pollination Technician was quite obsessed with the Strangetown Bella and had her kidnapped. (Maybe Cassandra was still a child) * She was replaced by an alien clone the second S. Bella got kidnapped though, so no one would get suspicious that she was gone. * Pleasantview Bella got pregnant with Mortimer and had Alexander. Alexander was born looking human (and a bit like his grandfather, too) so luckily it didn’t raise any suspicion… yet. * What gave away this plan was the way P. Bella started to act, not like herself. She was not feeling anything romantic between her and Mortimer. Which is why she started to look for love outside, to extinguish the fire inside. (Err- anyways) Mortimer has known and loved this woman almost his whole life? Yes, people change but there must be something he is missing. The guy is a marvelous science man, his brain surely picked up some weird signals from her. Like her memories being all around the place… * Just following the rules was her mission from Day 1. But now she is starting to be like herself, acting more like a human, acting on her feelings as she spent more and more years on earth. Years pass by and Mortimer connected enough evidence that she was in fact, an alien. (I never meant to make him look like the villain here btw, I absolutely adore Mortimer. And I want to believe they are THE couple, powered by love. I already see enough negativity IRL, not my cup of tea to bring that reality to Sims… I respect anyone who does it though.) * So, Mortimer realized P. Bella has a thing for Don and decided to have a talk with him. Don was somehow convinced about Bella and agrees to help him. * The plan was to lure her to Don’s house and capture her. Don invited P. Bella to dinner and she agreed. After dinner, they hang out by the telescope and Bella took a look at the sky, only to receive a message “they know what you are, run away” and she panicked. At that same moment, Don reached for a kiss (in order to knock her out) and got rejected. Bella panicked more and ended up revealing a bit of her alien self. As she was about to attack Don, Don hit her hard as self-defense. She fainted. * Mortimer came in and they carried her body together to somewhere no one can ever find. The secret government facility. * The government paid Mortimer 10,000 Simoleons as a “thank you”. * Mortimer told the kids that Bella got kidnapped by aliens. Kids were devastated. Mortimer was glad to find out about the truth and get justice but also felt like it made a huge hole in his heart. Because where was Bella? Since Mortimer couldn't figure out the time her real wife wasn't with them anymore, he wasn't sure if Alexander was half-alien or not. But he loved him nonetheless. * Aliens got afraid that P. Bella would speak up all about their species to humans so they decided to swap the Bellas as if nothing ever happened. * On their way to Pleasantview, the spaceship acted up and crashed into Strangetown. Bella ran away but forgot all about her "self" because of the concussion. This was literally the first time that I’ve commented something like this but hope I could somehow entertain someone today. 😂Anyways, that was all.
Your theory blown my mind! I’ve never thought of that, it’s probably not what happened, but it still is a very interesting way to see what happened, and you’re very creative.
I used to run w this story all the time, and play Bella's whole life out in Sims 3 to get her to become an astronaut so she could make it to Lunar Lakes, too! 😂 But have they ever mentioned the diff traits of Strangetown Bella...?
Ok, here's a fun thing. Sims 3; then something happens and sims stop aging. Same oddity apparently got rid of teens got babies to magically change into children, skipping toddler years entirely. Children wouldn't grow up unless they were magical and managed to make a charm to age up to adult - skipping teen years. Of course, they had to use the item only with good grades and good mood, else they might turn back into babies instead.
@Mark Milly hey mark I’m 13 but we can be friends as long as you have a ps5 and other stuff but we do not need that to be honest we can just be TH-cam friends
I'm not aware of the traits ever being mentioned. Marticore's "Bella from game's perspective" touches on that. iirc her hypothesis was that PV Bella was created before the first face template was available. When it became so, the team used it for S Bella because she looked better lol
More game developers should embrace glitches and the lore potential they create. Missingno and the Minus World already created this kind of buzz; imagine if Nintendo had fueled that fire instead of just saying "oops, ignore that"?
If Bella Goth made it back in Strangetown, why is her grave in Lunar Lakes? And SimGuruLindsey confirms that the dead Bella Goth on Lunar Lakes is Pleasantview Bella.
Lol her alien clone aka theory says this is pleasant view Bella traveled to the future and got stuck or traveled to the future then fell in love or stayed with her family to be less Grimm lol just a theory
i played the sims 2 a lot as a kid and now i'm an author. i can definietly see the parallel between playing the sims 2 and writing stories and it never ceases to amaze me
Lindsay accidentally gave us tons and tons of hours of fun! I really hope the best for her! As for how Bella looks (in every game) I like to personally think about the theory of the multipe Bella Goths (It's kinda elaborated but It's my favorite one!) The theory states that all the Bellas ARE Bella Goth but from different universes. The Bellas that got abducted by aliens unfortunately will not return home (Or at least not all of them), thats why one died at Lunar Lakes and other is in Strange Town. In order to travel the universe spaceships should be able to create wormholes (As we see in the Sims 4 to travel to Sixam) but errors in creating said hole can lead to interdimensional and or time problems, explaining why there is a deceased Bella in the Sims 3 if she is only a child. Strange Town Bella looks different from the Pleasent View Bella because she is not from that universe. Her parents were the same, but the DNA combined differently (Like it happens with our siblings, we are from the same parents but look different. Same DNA, different combinations). Another Bella is the one that is being praised in the chance card in the Sims 3. Console Bella, is also other Bella that is really scared of aliens, other one is the one that married Mortimer only for money, another one is the one in the Sims 4 that lives happy, and also, every single one of our individual games is another universe where Bella formed and our gameplay is the life she got to live in that universe. This also applies to all the characters, and would explain why in the Sims 3 there is a book about Bella wroted by her child. One of the many Alexanders that lost their mother travelled to the past looking for her and maybe never got the chance to get back.
Bella in Pleasantview was never meant to be resurrected. Many pre-made Sims who were dead when the game launched cannot be resurrected because it can corrupt your game. Since Bella is treated as dead, it applies to her too. Strangetown is the worst offender in the long list of unsafe Sims. Look to Olive Specter’s garden for example. Strangetown was the testing ground and therefore, has a ton of outdated code.
Huh. I never knew this. When Sims 2 first came out, the first thing I did was play Strangetown. Bella showed up as one of the Sims part of the welcome wagon for my sim. I was in SHOCK lol.
Even after the patch, there’s one incredibly broken thing about Strangetown Bella: instead of the Townie family, she appears in the Default family. Idk how Maxis made her appear on community lots and why she wasn’t moved from them, but it might’ve been the result of that, as the Default family is for deceased sims and universal NPCs. As a result, unless it was patched (I don’t think it was but I’m not 100% sure, interacting with Strangetown Bella while having Apartment Life installed is a game-breaking hazard, because she might want to make a network interactions towards you upon meeting her and introduce you to her best friend Social Bunny or Witch Doctor…what a way to get the neighborhood and game corruption at once.
I like to reenact her abduction in the sims 4. Within the game limits of course. I get her abducted by aliens and then move her out of the goth house and into Strangerville. Best I can do in the sims 4 😅
Yea I turn that one basic town into pleasant view so fast and delete the sims 2 characters like the twins and don and Calientes change them for ones that look more like the previous!
I was always dissapointed when I found Bella and made a whole story about getting her back but she never had her memories and never registered as original Bella with the Goths 😔 especially with the memories thing, I was so sure there was a special cutscene or other Easter egg, something , anything if you brought her back!
I thought Bella already got home in The sims 2 psp. She's trying get out of Strange town at the beginning. When she sold her house from the protagonist.
13:42 I think that they intestinally put the incompatible telescope there to show that it was not random and that someone was behind it like the Caliente's.
I don't want there to be bugs in my games' code. But if there are, they better create some cool legends like this lol! Really enjoyed this video. I generally would play The Sims without thinking too much on the townies, just focusing on my own characters, but lately I've wanted to actually get invested in the lore for once. I think I found a great place to start :D
Remember I was obsessed with finding her, but then I realized that one cannot change a sims neighbourhood in Sims 2 and let them keep their family and friends relationships, as they can now in Sims 4. So I wasted some time there, but it was fun while it lasted.
I was playing Sims 2 Goth family once and Bella just... showed up one day and rang the doorbell. She and Mortimer already had high relationship, so I married them. A few days later when he died of old age, she walked off the lot, left the household and was just gone again.
I remember Bella Goth's mystery in the early 2000's becoming a race between my parents and I to find Bella and do "something" with her. We shared my dad's computer back then, would play and interact with each other's families, and definitely had fun. My dad's favorite was Nervous Subject, and when his kids went to college I played them during college and sometimes after, and ending up finding Bella Goth one day and made her marry one of Subject's kids, lmao. Bella was literally the best thing about the game for us
Just to give you a technical explanation as to why Strangetown Bella never showed up in the base game before patches: she was put in the "Default" household (the same that contains all the Universal NPCs). The game is coded to *IGNORE* the "Default" household for most actions, including spawning Sims on community lots and as co-workers of your Sim. Because of this oversight, Strangetown Bella will never appear in an unpatched base game. What they did later was to write a special line of code that MOVES Strangetown Bella from the "Default" household to one of the townie households so she'd behave like every other townie.
I absolutely love watching your videos you always put so much effort and research into making your videos ! Anything to do with the sims I’m here for, especially miss Bella 🙏 a true queen
I loved the story I created around the Goth family. I introduced a unique character by having Mortimer adopt a toddler before he passed away and Autumn Goth became my favorite Sim I've ever played. In the end I cheated Bella back into Pleasantview but with amnesia since she didn't show any relation to Mortimer or her children.
Brilliant analysis and digging! Just goes to show you that Occham's Razor is once again the best method for determining reality... The simplest explanation: the EA devs don't have the Genius or Perfectionist traits, just a creative team that can oops an otherwise ham-fisted story development. You should investigate the Sims 3 Bella-on-Lunar-Lakes conundrum next. The fan theory of a pregnancy botching an alien abduction, then Bella birthing Mathilde, how she got to that map in the first place to be where she dies... Note that in Sims 4 Bella seems to be scripted to take up the Astronaut career despite aspirations and traits that better befit a Happy Homemaker. Maybe Sims 4 Bella is the Sims 2 Strangetown Bella's clone!!!
Bella is also spotted in Strangetown from Sims 2 PSP. I think her thing says she is hiding. I also read that if Mortimer is deceased in Sims 2 when Alexander goes to college. Bella comes in and drops him off there in a cutscene. New sub and love sims content. I think Sims 2 is always gonna be my favourite. I just love the art style, the worlds and the storylines. I also loved shapeing some of the neighborhoods with decorative stuff and hours would pass by.
I remember the times when there was a rumor floating around the community that Bella could be brought back by using the telescope at Don's condo and she can be brought back by aliens. I now know that it's impossible. Also, the "similarity" between the two Bella's, they couldn't be more different, could they? But most of us like mysteries and so I think her story is one of the best ever created.
Very shortly after the release we were all looking for her. And one of the things that made people wonder was if she was one of the passengers in the balloon. If you look very closely at the balloons gondola, Bella and a hot date guy wearing a blue bowling shirt are riding.
I mean sims 4 did suck absolute ass in the beginning ...it has improved..a bit, but I'm pretty sure because they DID look into previous games and made adjustments.
I miss the lore connection from ts1,2 and 3.. sims 4 storyline is just not doing it for me.. No snacks while watching this cuz imma head to bed right after this vid ❤️
When it comes to code. It is very, VERY easy to mess up. Just one letter/number off by even the tiniest thing can completely change how the whole thing acts. Around the time Sims 2 was out I was working on my own "indie" games as well as mods for existing games.. Something I learned when I was younger than I was at that point.. Is that you ALWAYS back up things before changing anything. Still remember the first thing I ever worked on and how I had to rebuild the whole thing from scratch.. When I was almost done with the whole thing.. All because I made the mistake of not backing things up.. and I had made one mistake that I could not fix.. Breaking the whole thing.. ( Completely breaking, the program would crash the computer lol. ) I got into programming/code very early in my life.. Think it was both due to games as well as the fact that my curiosity of what can be done with computers and programs.. I was one of those kids that loved taking things apart and putting them back together. ( Not just programming/code but physical things as well.. I would do that to some toys, calculators, and other things. But mostly things that would for sure be ok to do so.. I was not one of those kids who would just take anything and mess with it.. Did not want to anger the family basically. )
There are several reasons I’ve never fully accepted EA’s explanation: 1. Strange Town Bella looks nothing like Pleasantview Bella 2. Strange town Bella has no memories of or family tree connections to the rest of the goth family. 3. If you try to resurrect Bella with tombstone of l and d a text box pops up that says she “died on another lot” 4. Dîna Caliente has a clear motive to get rid of her and she is descended from aliens
In my opinion the goths and their story in the sims 1 and 2 was so big of a success that they needed a way for us to keep playing with them (sims 3 being before in the timeline) and that's probably why the sims 4 is in a different timeline. People don't seem to understand that they wanted us to play with the same families again and that was the easy way. But personally I think that playing with the children of all of the family in the sims 4 and having an actual interesting storyline could have been better.
Since you still care about what i am eating while watching your video :it was chicken and green pepper pizza with root beer.. But after your last video it has me thinking about Lyla Grunt and the fact that she died in Olivia's garden . So I asked my friend who had Sims 2 on a computer look for Lyla, he couldn't find a way to bring her back but could see from her ghost she was electrocuted but I though she died from poison. Then we got into a debate about if she was forced to move out of the house so that Buzz could keep the boys and did he have anything to do with her death? Wondering if you could do a video about her unless you did one already.
me casually enjoying the sims 4 being unable to go back much because of the clunk of the previous games compared and having all the expansions for sims 4 whilst you say its crap in the background XD awkwaaaaard
I’m not sure if I’m reading this correctly but if Bella is suppose to be stranger town Bella aswell then why is she in Lunar lakes in sims 3 . Did she get the abducted . It says that Bella was taken to strange town so I’m not sure if she’s supposed to be alive then but then she dead in lunar lakes in sims 3 so that’s odd . I know she mentioned in video that she was dead in steangerville but I’m trying to make sense here . I may be looking too much into it and if I am please let me know where I’m going wrong
To make it more confusing a former producer on the sims confirms that the lunar lake bella is "the same bella as pleasantview and sunset valley". (Weirdly enough out of the deceased sims Bella is the only one who didn't die in a violent accident like fire of electrocution and died of old age) Then there's the added mystery of who Mathilde Goth is and how she's related to the family.
I wish instead of just duplicating the townies in each game, they made them a generation or two later. Especially since they update technology and trends why is cassandra a teen in the 90s but still a teen in 2020s. Drop married adult cassandra taking care of her parents and alexander in another house or college or something and keep the family trees!
I love the sims 2 but I think it is very on brand that the canon story was that Bella was supposed to be a townie in strangetown and thus encourage ppl to break their game and move strangetown Bella / pleasantview goths between neighborhoods 😭😭 like the lore basically asks players to mix hoods which from my understanding is a big no no bc the only way I know of how to move sims to diff neighborhoods is to save houses to the bin with families in them which is known to be broken af
Is it really a bug that prevented her from showing up though? Because in the Sims 2, if you move a sim from one neighborhood to another (like from pleasantview to veronaville) it completely erases every person they’ve interacted with from their memories including the other person‘s memories of them. ?
as i found bella and put her into my family she didnt had memory. and for some reason i guess the bug wasnt as bad in my game, because i found her as i was still a young teenager (years before 2019). i dont know when they put her anew in the game. but ....i dont know....how did i find her as a kid in strangetown, when it bugged her out all the time? ...unless the bug wasnt always bugging. i was never really invested in the mysterie because i found her so early in the game. it was a closed case for me. well the bug explains why others where so interested. i only realized that this year.
Ok but does anyone else remember the way to reunite Bella? I did that a few times without breaking my game it was either a mod or you could go into the files and move things around???? I was all about doing things you shouldn’t like resurrecting dead sims and making the families happy.
on my very first play through of sims 4 i kidnapped mortimer and bella and kept them as prisoner while i raised their kids. i’m not a psycho just a callmekevin fan
I think that's because after aliens abducted Bella, they took her to another planet which is located closer to its star (or rotates faster around its star) than the Earth, thus one year on that planet is shorter than one year on our planet. So, Bella could've actually stayed there for one year or less before aliens brought her back, and in the meantime on Earth a decade would have passed, resulting in Mortimer, Cassandra and Alexander aging up significantly more than her.
guess bella got some plastic surgery during her abduction because strangetown bella looks different from pleasantview bella.. could be a good explanation
After finding out how there were two bellas, even knowing the reasons why... the different faces didn't add up to me. why does one look different? ea should've had the tools to copy her genetics exactly, especially if players can do it in simpe Which is why I always like to think the strangetown one is a clone made by aliens
I remember doing this once and I don’t know if you ever have? but you should try it. I once moved Strangetown Bella into the lots and houses bin, and then moved her over to Pleasantview just for shits and giggles; it didn’t really do anything but it’s worth checking out!
You probably shouldnt try that actually as it's unsafe to do and will cause neighborhood corruption 😅 I think many people did that though, since it is an implemented game feature.. but as with many sims 2 "features", it will mess up your game (oops).
Would it be too stubborn if I decided not to believe Lindsay? 💀 I don't know, the way she talks about this topic after years and years like it's not important thing sounds suspicious to me (don't blame me lol) Also, *I HAVE A NEW THEORY* 👽 What if Bella developed her own consciousness during the development of the game and didn't want the programmers to separate her from Mortimer and his children so she "refused" to go to Strangetown and became a glitch on purpose? Bella would literally become a virus-like thing through her code when The Sims 2 was released and that would be her revenge on the programmers who literally are "the aliens" who made her disappear. While the programmers benefited from the interest generated by the "disappearance of Bella Goth", she would cause strange things to happen within the game when you resurrect her or meet her clone. In this way, Bella's revenge was successful because despite the fact that the programmers tried to hide her, many Simmers tried to help her (even today) by making her return to her family, either by cheats, by mods or by external software. (I know that all the weird stuff in The Sims 2 is due to limitations of game mechanics, developer stuff and the way you play the game, I'm just theorizing ✨)
i'm glad that this video was released only 2day, days after i finished my ep about bella's mystery. otherwise i would b incredibly devastated & never finished my songs abt pleasantview drama upd: of course i knew that there was maxis staff, who failed codin' bella, & that accident gave life 2 bella goth's mystery, but i couldn't just believe & accept it. but now i can see it clear
Maybe they could have just searched and fixed that bug before publishing the game!? Lol🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ I also looked for #BellaGoth for a while but I ended up re-creating her by myself😆 TS2 was an amazing game but in my humble opinion it lacked many original TS1 details, objects, actions, comments and essential places like Old, Studio and Magic towns pleaseee.. like not the same vibes🥰 Keep playing #thesims !!! #thesims2 #thesims3 #thesims4 #thesims1 #simmers
So with just base game installed you gotta have patch otherwise strangetown belle wont show up if i understand this correctly right?
This is the first time I even heard about that.... 😬
Lol, well internet was only invented in like 1990 so... people were not super informed.
Ok so I've had sims 2 since I was young and never downloaded patches yet always had bella turn up in strangetown???? I don't believe this story much tbh unless you tell us when it was patched please
@@franklinmccollough7378 It's not true because she showed up for me and I never patched anything. Had the game since it came out on disk

I had a feeling Strangetown Bella could be the real Bella I remember that Playstation Sims 2 Bella did reveal that she's scared because she was abducted by aliens and talked about her relationship with her family.
Ohh yeah this is the one that I'm talking about.
On the PSP version of Sims 2, one of Bella’s secrets you can find out is that she was abducted by aliens

She’s also part of the welcome wagon who usually comes to visit the first sim you move in
@@mbrammy7yes. I instantly found her so I thought that the aliens dropped her at strangetown. And it looks like I was right 😅
I always thought that the saddest part about Bella goth being abducted then dropped off in strange town was that she could never return to her family. That was always so heart breaking to me, even though she never showed up in my strange town when I played the sims 2.
Omg you said the same thing at the end of your video lol.
I usually had someone befriend her and ask her to move in, then have them move (to the Sims bin), where I could relocate them to Pleasantview.

It's interesting
Too be fair. This is a brilliant way to make people more intrested in the game and buying it.
Making up and connecting the storylines is the most fun tbh.
ts2 had the funnest pre made family storylines. i didnt play strangetown much either. if i do, i think ill have bella re marry a sim living there
i had so much fun as a pre teen in the early 2000s, continuing the lives of the sims in pleasantview.
@Mark Milly i think your a fucking weirdo mark mate
I only played strangetown 😂 I had so many half alien babies 😅
Funny thing is, they kind of ran with fan theories again once reaching The Sims 3, although not as obvious as in The Sims 2. There is some interesting information to be found that contradicts that Bella ever ended up in Strangetown… 🧐
What do u mean?
@@rayyfakih2206 I think @Felicia is talking about all the different (sometimes inconsistent) ways that the Sims team leaned into the mystery. There are, for example:
- A character interview with Bella Goth, indicating ST Bella is PV Bella
- A continuation in a spin-off game where ST Bella is trying to get home (and it's implied she does)
- A book ("Murder in Pleasantview") in TS3 by Alexander Goth, years before he was born, implying that Alexander time-traveled (to find/warn Bella)
- A spin-off/console title where Alexander Goth is an adult in the science career, doubling down on the "Alexander Goth time-travels (to find Bella)" idea
- A DLC world for TS3 where, in the distant future, Bella Goth is an elderly ghost on an alien planet
- Flavor text implying the aliens are, or were, worshiping Bella as some sort of goddess-queen
- A separate DLC for TS3 where a Bella-look-alike lives as a resident of the future (some people suggest she is secretly Bella's long-lost daughter, though that's probably not the case - she's probably just one of Alexander's descendants).
@@jennynoelle6782 thank you so much for ur reply!!! That’s super interesting
2) the DLC once again was made by different people since the devs quit once again, they ran with the time travel theory made up by some bored fans, hey this is cool lets use it, completely ignoring the TS2 lore of she being abducted by aliens and gone
3) TS4 once again was made by new people and each DLC basically have new devs attached with the direction of this incompetent Lindsey person. Sims is just a bunch of inconsistent crap that is solely present as desperate cashgrab and that is all there is to it

So much information that I heard and read, which are kind of all mixed in my head. It’s like a soup in there.

You are obviously much more well-informed than I do, but please kindly think that what I wrote was just for fun, and it is definitely not that great. 😂 Just tried to take a different perspective on what was on the plate and share it. (If someone already wrote about it before, it wasn't intentional, so I apologize for that, too.)
The bug with Bella, the memory system in The Sims 2, blonde Bella Goth (time traveler?), two Bellas in one universe, Pleasantview Bella having Romance as an aspiration (in which I agree that what they did to her sucks)… the timeline, parallel worlds, the timing of the memories, etc.
Honestly, if anyone could create a theory that connects ALL of these dots together, and storify it to explain, that’d make the greatest movie, I bet. Some of those dots remain unexplained or left out in these theories and I guess that’s the beauty of it. Endless possibilities!
------------------------------------------------------------
I should’ve put more details about my comment, I am sorry for causing confusion. My theory is as follows:
* Pollination Technician was quite obsessed with the Strangetown Bella and had her kidnapped. (Maybe Cassandra was still a child)
* She was replaced by an alien clone the second S.
Like her memories being all around the place…
* Just following the rules was her mission from Day 1.
I already see enough negativity IRL, not my cup of tea to bring that reality to Sims… I respect anyone who does it though.)
* So, Mortimer realized P.
😂Anyways, that was all.
this is the first time I read such an interpretation and I'm obssessed omg 🛸
"So less fun"
That explains for TS4 lol
Good video
I never looked that deeply into her looking different. Bella looks different so many times throughout it the series lol.
Could be just a oversight or messing with fans
Lol her alien clone aka theory says this is pleasant view Bella traveled to the future and got stuck or traveled to the future then fell in love or stayed with her family to be less Grimm lol just a theory
She would have traveled there somehow and died - she's an elder over there so time has passed.
i played the sims 2 a lot as a kid and now i'm an author. i can definietly see the parallel between playing the sims 2 and writing stories and it never ceases to amaze me
My tonsils are inflamed and making me feel so bad, but a grilled cheese and a Miss Lore video helps me feel better 💙
You got a grilled cheese aspiration too??
Lindsay accidentally gave us tons and tons of hours of fun! I really hope the best for her!
As for how Bella looks (in every game) I like to personally think about the theory of the multipe Bella Goths (It's kinda elaborated but It's my favorite one!)
The theory states that all the Bellas ARE Bella Goth but from different universes.
Bella's own multiverse of madness 😂
That makes sense.
Theory of multiverse confirmed by Bella Goth lol
(I love this theory just as much as I love Bella) 😊
Honestly I didn't know people cared about the sims characters that much I thought everyone just made their own. Very cool.
Stop spreading misinformations.
Huh. I never knew this. When Sims 2 first came out, the first thing I did was play Strangetown. Bella showed up as one of the Sims part of the welcome wagon for my sim. I was in SHOCK lol.
Lmao 😂
Still pretty good.

I thought Bella already got home in The sims 2 psp. She's trying get out of Strange town at the beginning. When she sold her house from the protagonist.
The fact that they made the story up and we think they actually did all that lol we are so emotional because it's the sims 2
I wonder if the bug that prevented Bella from showing up in Strangetown has to do with her being in the default bin instead of the townie bin.
April Black made a very interesting technical analysis of what happened to Bella! She has even found the patch that made her appear in Strangetown.
13:42 I think that they intestinally put the incompatible telescope there to show that it was not random and that someone was behind it like the Caliente's.
I love how it was simple opps behind one of the most mysterious story of a famous video game character
Got me a PB&J and a Pepsi, time to watch Miss Lore
You know, I played these games to death as a kid yet I never knew about the Bella lore 😅 it was a long time ago when Twitter and such didn’t exist.
So Pleasantview Bella is indeed the real Bella and Strangetown Bella is a copy they did to "fix" everything
it doesnt really explain why strangetown Bella looks different. they could've just copy her physical appearance.
It seems that every Simguru who gets down to business whenever it comes to Bella, just does what they think is right.
You aren't taking into account the interviews with "Bella" where she directly addresses being abducted and blaming Nina.
I never knew that strangetown Bella was added with a patch!,
Very shortly after the release we were all looking for her.

( Completely breaking, the program would crash the computer lol. )
I got into programming/code very early in my life.. Did not want to anger the family basically. )
3:48 She did a great job then, best entry of the series.
Anyone noticed the hot air balloon floating around in one of the neighborhoods.
I miss the sims 2. So much fun☺️
Wow I’m actually early hi miss sims lore! 😆❤️❤️
Hiiii Alexi!!! 💕😊
OH my goodness hi! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
me casually enjoying the sims 4 being unable to go back much because of the clunk of the previous games compared and having all the expansions for sims 4 whilst you say its crap in the background XD awkwaaaaard
I was confused by that too... it doesn't add up
Could lunar lakes be a continuation of Strangetown? Did the aliens abduct her again? Is she running away from the aliens in Strangetown?
To make it more confusing a former producer on the sims confirms that the lunar lake bella is "the same bella as pleasantview and sunset valley". (Weirdly enough out of the deceased sims Bella is the only one who didn't die in a violent accident like fire of electrocution and died of old age) Then there's the added mystery of who Mathilde Goth is and how she's related to the family.
@@Sylphella I saw some people saying she could be a clone or the daughter of alexander
@@eoin7 possibly but she died in lunar lakes as she is in the graveyard .
Two Reason:One She Might Lost Her Memory Or Other Town Might Be Clone,IDk
Yay love your videos❤️❤️
Snack report : just a mug of coffee
I'm still questioning the Bella Goth grave in Lunar Lakes from Sims 3.
I listen to these videos when I'm cooking sometimes
I wish instead of just duplicating the townies in each game, they made them a generation or two later. Especially since they update technology and trends why is cassandra a teen in the 90s but still a teen in 2020s. Drop married adult cassandra taking care of her parents and alexander in another house or college or something and keep the family trees!
lol. the 2 pics of bella in the business meeting room
Bella Goth is in Strangetown for the PSP version of Sims 2.

Mission Failed Successfully 😆
Ok, actually thank you for the streaming plug. I did NOT know your schedule. 😅
Wish there were more stuff about goths in sims 4
I love the sims 2 but I think it is very on brand that the canon story was that Bella was supposed to be a townie in strangetown and thus encourage ppl to break their game and move strangetown Bella / pleasantview goths between neighborhoods 😭😭 like the lore basically asks players to mix hoods which from my understanding is a big no no bc the only way I know of how to move sims to diff neighborhoods is to save houses to the bin with families in them which is known to be broken af
My kids and I play this game all the time. We have never been able to find her. Also we wish Bob Newbie was in Sims 2.
But the way they made the game and made things like that happen wasn't through the game, they coded it all.
Ok but does anyone else remember the way to reunite Bella? I did that a few times without breaking my game it was either a mod or you could go into the files and move things around???? I was all about doing things you shouldn’t like resurrecting dead sims and making the families happy.
the sims 4 is a time travel game because bella goth is still alive in my game
on my very first play through of sims 4 i kidnapped mortimer and bella and kept them as prisoner while i raised their kids. i’m not a psycho just a callmekevin fan
Here's my question: Why is Bella still an adult while Mortimer is an elder? Is Mortimer just older than her?
Mortimer became an elder after Bella got abducted. So, I think the "abduction" might freeze her age or something?
The elixer of life Mortimer created it and Bella was the first to use it
they are the same age, if u play sims 3
I think that's because after aliens abducted Bella, they took her to another planet which is located closer to its star (or rotates faster around its star) than the Earth, thus one year on that planet is shorter than one year on our planet. So, Bella could've actually stayed there for one year or less before aliens brought her back, and in the meantime on Earth a decade would have passed, resulting in Mortimer, Cassandra and Alexander aging up significantly more than her.
Loved this video! 10/10! Great to see a woman video game TH-camr too! Keep up the great work!
guess bella got some plastic surgery during her abduction because strangetown bella looks different from pleasantview bella.. could be a good explanation
It just bugs me forever that they have different personality and facial structure but it's supposed to be the same person
After finding out how there were two bellas, even knowing the reasons why... the different faces didn't add up to me. why does one look different? ea should've had the tools to copy her genetics exactly, especially if players can do it in simpe
Which is why I always like to think the strangetown one is a clone made by aliens
Man, EA should put TS and TS2 on steam.
@@Queerlien I think Lore frequently resets their neighborhoods so they should be fine in theoryyyy lol
My snack report is watery spaghetti at 9 o'clock at night yes this is my dinner 😭
Bro why cook spaghetti when u can eat it raw, it's so much better that way
@@honeymoon.honeymustard it was in the fridge bestie it was already cooked
Would it be too stubborn if I decided not to believe Lindsay? 💀 I don't know, the way she talks about this topic after years and years like it's not important thing sounds suspicious to me (don't blame me lol)
Also, *I HAVE A NEW THEORY* 👽 What if Bella developed her own consciousness during the development of the game and didn't want the programmers to separate her from Mortimer and his children so she "refused" to go to Strangetown and became a glitch on purpose? Bella would literally become a virus-like thing through her code when The Sims 2 was released and that would be her revenge on the programmers who literally are "the aliens" who made her disappear. While the programmers benefited from the interest generated by the "disappearance of Bella Goth", she would cause strange things to happen within the game when you resurrect her or meet her clone.
In this way, Bella's revenge was successful because despite the fact that the programmers tried to hide her, many Simmers tried to help her (even today) by making her return to her family, either by cheats, by mods or by external software.
(I know that all the weird stuff in The Sims 2 is due to limitations of game mechanics, developer stuff and the way you play the game, I'm just theorizing ✨)
wow, so weird to actually have a answear to this now?!
Bella's the main reason I fell in love with the game and even now I hold her dear I always love to make drama for her and other sims
i'm glad that this video was released only 2day, days after i finished my ep about bella's mystery. otherwise i would b incredibly devastated & never finished my songs abt pleasantview drama
upd: of course i knew that there was maxis staff, who failed codin' bella, & that accident gave life 2 bella goth's mystery, but i couldn't just believe & accept it. but now i can see it clear
snack report? this is my first time watching the channel and by coincident im eating dinner, so my report is frozen pizza!
Game theory have a theory about what could be in game lore of what happen I think it's pretty cool

Maybe they could have just searched and fixed that bug before publishing the game!? Lol🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I also looked for #BellaGoth for a while but I ended up re-creating her by myself😆 TS2 was an amazing game but in my humble opinion it lacked many original TS1 details, objects, actions, comments and essential places like Old, Studio and Magic towns pleaseee.. like not the same vibes🥰
