My theory is that the Tragic Clown was performing at a child's birthday party and Opal was one of the kids there, which would explain the facepaint. The party was probably by the beach or pool and Opal being a daredevil went for a swim and swam too far, kids tend to overestimate the depth of the water sometimes, so she started drowning. Tragic, being an adult supervisor at the party went to rescue her, but since he's hydrophobic he panicked and started drowning too. So they both died.
Birthday party also came first to my mind, but I was thinking it was the other way around. With Tragic Clown maybe accidentally falling into a pool (as he had the clumsy trait) and Opal (being daredevil and good) thought she could rescue him, but overestimated her child strength to carry out an adult man from underwater. Perhaps when she was struggling with him underwater, he started panicking and caused them both to sink more and drown. Since, as it was pointed out already, hydrophobic Sims can't drown by normal means. Honestly both theories sound more plausible to me than circus and murder.
I think Opal did hide and saw the tragic Clown getting pushed of a bridge or something. And because she is a dare devil she maybe wanted to rescue him but the water was too cold at night and she drowned with the Clown. Edit: she also has the good trait, which maybe contributed to the urge to help the tragic Clown

Either way, they both drowned. It makes some sense. Both have rather good traits, and Opal seems to be emulating the tragic clown's style (kind of like how young kids will try to dress up like their parents - alternatively, it's possible that the tragic clown could have bought her the dress and make-up).
Here's an idea, maybe Opal was drowning, and the Tragic clown despite being terrified of water jumped in to save her, only to then die himself. I think that fits with The Tragic Clown's M.O., showing up to help people only to fail miserably.

I don't remember who said it (maybe it was you lol) but someone said they thought the tragic clown drowned in their own tears. Like, he died of sadness. But there's no "Death by sadness" so the developpers put it drowning to Say that he drowned in his tears 🤷♀️ or that he hated himself so much for some reason that he took his own life by the worst death possible for him : drowning. Since he's hydraphobic. 🤷♀️ I think it's interesting.
It's interesting how many pre-made dead children appear in the Sims 3. The Sims 1 only has two, and both the Sims 2 (since ghost children are broken in that game) and Sims 4 have none.
I think since Opal was a daredevil child she would do reckless kids' things. Opal pulled the "I can hold my breath for a really long time" routine and The Tragic Clown thought she was drowning. He went in to help her but given he cannot swim cause he is hydrophobic he ended up drowning them both on accident.

And Opal's drowning caused Tragic Clown in teens or later to get Hydrophobia trait. And maybe drowned himself in adult life for loss, ignoring his trait because he was trying to find a solution to save her, but to no avail, so he decided to join her.
I have a theory about Opal, her dad was a spy and he was investigating the mystery of the tragic clown, and Opal wanted to be one too and was helping her dad find him, the killer of the tragic clown was in a crime syndicate and didn’t want anyone catching on, so the killer broke into Opal’s house and murdered the entire family, her parents bodies were just labeled “remains” but Opal’s grave was near the Tragic Clown’s to memorialize the search and how it failed...
I imagined the Clown performing at a birthday party (hence the facepaint) and maybe one of the kids, seeing as how cruel kids can be, pushed him in the pool, because he's a hydrophobe he started panicking and our good natured daredevil jumped in to try and save him, but just ended up being dragged down by the panicking man

I think that Opal and the clown were in the circus together and he was murdered by the owner, Erdrick over squabbles about the clowns act as it is a form of art and Erdrick doesn't respect art and actually hates it. Opal may have witnessed the clean up that Erdrick and Nida were doing of his body so decided to also drown her in the same apple bobbing water.

Great video! I never knew that Opal was only a kid when she died, until recently my sim saw her ghost in the cemetery. In Twinbrook there is also a buried child called 'Wilhelmina Leaf'. Maybe you could investigate her mystery next. Since her clothing is very reminiscent of a past era, maybe she died long ago...

Maybe Opal was the daughter of a spy, thats the reason wants to be a spy, like the one who look like the men in black in the Sims 1, the clown kill opal in the fountain and they are trying to catch the killer of there daughter but they find out that all this time it was a ghost who die by drowning

I love how you connect these little pieces of info together, I wouldn't have thought of these connections. I remember reading somewhere that the Tragic Clown drowned in his tears, but still, I think it's very likely that he and Opal knew each other or that their deaths are connected. And the insane and dislikes children traits cannot be coincidences! It would also be interesting if Opal was based on It's victims. But I like that theory more when they are friends :D I really like how you showed their possible story in the circus.

The first theory makes more sense to me and it could definitely tie in to the idea that the other two had something to do with her death. If nida was helping him dispose of a body and seen a child nearby it makes sense that she’d want her gone as well. And perhaps they were regulars at the circus as well, deciding on tragic clown as their target
MAYBE...Opal was at the Summer Festival. She had gotten her face painted and had something from the food vendor. She didn't have enough tickets to buy a floatie, but wanted to go swimming. SHE DIDN'T WAIT A HALF HOUR!!! (I don't swim so I don't know if that's even a real thing!) She cramped up in the pool. Opal was drowning, and TC, seeing no one around, and no other avenue, went in to get her even though he couldn't swim. I mean, ya gotta do SOMETHING, yeah? That would fit the whole tragic thing. I have my theory. Maybe Opal was a circus kid as you said. Since Erdrick can't stand art he hated the circus people. One day he saw the tragic clown hanging around and drawnd him in one of his insanity attacks. Opal saw everything and he noticed her and killed her in the same day. That's all I can think about
idk why but Opal gives me Gosalyn from Darkwing Duck vibes. The only things that really fit are hair, traits, and the Spy thing though. One could argue drowning but there's likely better death causes if it was a reference to her though.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate all your videos, it's always apparent just how much effort and passion you put into this series and the games in general. That being said, with your wedding coming up, don't feel pressured to push content out; do it on your own time and put your needs first! I honestly never even knew about this mystery either so it's great to hear even more. I'll admit playing the Sims as a kid I had no idea about the lore the game possessed, I always just created my own families and ignored the other Sims lol. Had to pause midway at 6:23 to make some speculations. I think Opal is an orphan and Tragic Clown "adopted" her into the circus family. When they were on tour, perhaps they were trying to attempt a magic trick (maybe trying to escape a water tank of some sort?) and something went horribly wrong, which caused both of them to drown. Thinking that Opal is a daredevil and has face paintings (which is common amongst circus performers) it makes sense. She would dare to do something, risking her life in the process. But Tragic clown is hydrophobic so it raises the question; why would he want to be in a water escape tank? Maybe that's where the murder part comes in. His circus manager wanted the biggest show of Sunset Valley and assigned him and Opal the performance. That's were it goes terribly wrong. Maybe the tank was rigged so they wouldn't be able to escape? Or maybe it's just a pure accident. Either way, I'm going to unpause now.
i have like the weirdest glitch with sunset valley if i loaded a different world prior to.But basically all of the ghost will appear on a ton of lots in my game, specifically community lots and i’ve always noticed Opal. She has always caught my eye due to the fact she is a child. So thank you for helping me get a little bit of info for her !!
i know that somewhere in sims 1 it's written that the tragic clown worked in a fast food restaurant. The fast food burned down and everyone died except the tragic clown, causing impostor syndrome. He then drowned in his tears. So that's my theory (sorry for the bad english)

I like the idea if maybe tragic clown died trying to save her from drowning and they both lost their life. Tho he is incapable of drowning, it would be cool for storytelling that in an attempt to put aside his fear for this child. I feel like it plays in extra with his name
i think a mix of all 3 tbh, opal parents died and she was put into the costodat of her aunt and uncle, both unstable in their own ways. her aunt hating children convinced her uncle to drop her off at the circus. when opal was left there she was crying and met the tragic clown, who tried to comfort her tho not knowing how to that well. after a year of opal at the circus the clown asked the aunt and uncle for costudy of her. the uncle, being insane, refused and convinced his wife to come with him to kill the clown. opal and the clown shared a home at the circus. when opal woke up to gurgling from the outside she went outside and saw her uncle drowning the clown. she tried not to cry but made a noise. causing her and to grab her and drown her also. leaving the bodies for the others to find and bury. (sorry if that made no sence i tried.)
No, here's what happened: Opal came to the fair with her parents, but somehow got separated from them. A crazy man, a carny, found her lost and sad. Much to the chagrin of his "roommate", he took her in but shortly thereafter died. But ol girl didn't like kids, so, as long as Opal didn't disturb her while she listened to the radio, everything was fine. But then, sad for the loss of her partner and kooky old friend, she died, too. Meanwhile Opal and the tragic clown had gotten to know each other and had become very close sad friends. He loved her daredevil, just for the fun of it ways, which made him feel... not so tragic. When the old carnies both had died one after the other, he had taken her in. No more working booths with crazy, mean old people, they were headed to the Big Top. They woulda start their own act. They rehearsed, and for a while, it took her mind off of everything, however, she was still sad, and that made her distracted at times. First losing her parents, then her caretakers, she still was only a little girl, after all. Everything had happened so suddenly. One night, during their opening act, just as they came out, she thought she heard her name. She turned to the familiar voice, but it was at the wrong time. For An Instant, she thought she saw a familiar set of faces in the crowd. She missed her mark and, well, she fell into the fountain and hit her head, losing consciousness. Her impact loosened the top of the fountain. When TC went to catch her her, the top fell on him, knocking him unconscious, too, pinning him under water. He tried to overcome his fears to save her, but tragically didn't. The faces faded back into the crowd. And that's why they are all next to each other, yet aren't connected to anyone in town... or are they?
Just binge-watched ALL of your videos and I loveeeeeeee it so much! I really hope you could make more videos about sims lore that is on other console like Sims Urbz/Sims Bustin Out (PS2). Would love getting to know all sims backstory.
I think the sims who died at an elderly age had something to do with the dissapearance and death of Tragic Clown and Opal; Since Opal had the lifetimewish of becoming a superspy, I think she was spying something she shouldn't, like...something happening to the clown, and it led to her death. Maybe they both died the same way at the same day, since they share the cause: drowning. It would create a pattern - The sims that did this probably got away with the murder since they died of old age; Their traits also indicate that they have reasons to do this, like, being the emperor or empress of evil, mean-spirited, insane, or something. Maybe the tragic clown did a bad joke - I mean, being a clow and making jokes, dressing some type of way is art, it isn't it? - and it triggered something on Erdrick; Nida helped him, and knowing that Opal saw it while disliking children, I think Nida commit a crime agaisnt Opal.
Fun fact: I know the lotta greaves vampire theory was long ago, but on the lessons tab in the sims 3 on “influencing other sims” the 2 pictures show Elvira and Vladmir I’m pretty sure talking about something in what looks to be a bar area lol
I think your theory makes sense. I didn't look into the other sims buried in the graveyard before your movie, but now I think you're right. In my theory, Opal was an orphan and was adopted to become a crime master (to fulfill her "parents" wish). She wasn't a bad person, so she was misunderstood and lonely in her family. One day she met the tragic clown and became friends with him because he looked like her - just as sad and lonely as she was. Unfortunately, her insane uncle and bad aunt found out about her friendship. They didn't even like her before, but the tragic clown and his friendship changed her, he gave her self confident and she decided about follow her dreams, so she decided to become a policewoman, which they didn't like. When her aunt and uncle realized that she would not be usefull, they decided to murder her. They took her for a walk or something and when they were left alone, they threw her into the pool, but unexpectedly, when she was drowning, a tragic clown jumped into the pool to save her life. Unfortunately, he failed, and that explains why he drowned, even though he was afraid of the water. And of course after that, insane uncle and bad aunt buried the bodies and forgot the case Why do you think about that? 🤔
Since we don't know if the tragic clown was working at a circus, it is possible that he was an actor on a kids tv show. I think Nida was Opal’s caretaker and Erdrick maybe a neighbour or friend. Opal idolized the clown, but Nida was a technophobe and disliked children. Since Erdrick was flirty and Nida easily impressed he might have told her "I will make this clown go missing" and so he did. Opal was very invested in the missing case of the clown. So, she either did find him somewhere where she could have drowned as well or might have asked too many questions. And since Nida wants to be that evil mastermind too, maybe they both wanted to get away with murder, thus making them partners in crime. And maybe they did get caught, thus not fulfilling their lifewishes. Further things I noticed to kind of back this up: . - I had the idea of the tv clown because of that kids channel in the sims 3 - It is possible that Erdrick did kill the clown because he (1) doesn't like art, (2) is insane (insane sims never freak out when they see a ghost), (3) wants to be that evil mastermind (4) and since he misses a trait, that one could be evil. However the biggest giveaway for me is, that he is (5) a kleptomaniac: he maybe could have stolen the pool ladder…) - Children can’t live alone and will be picked up by a social worker if the last sim who could take care of them dies. And a family won't move towns far away from their dead children. Since she she close to Nidas and Erdricks graves, it makes sense she would have been closer to them when she was alive The fairytale aspect behind my theory: - Erdrick is meant to represent a gnome obviously (garden gnomes love to make shenanigans and love gemstones, they also trade with them sometimes) - Opal represents a gemstone (thus the sparkling stars and the name) - Nida might be of Arabic descent because of her last name (One might think this could be a reference to the expressive markets from 1001 Nights where they trade gemstones) As always, a wonderful video! It could be that since she was a daredevil she had wandered away from the circus while she was on a trip and fell into the water and drowned doing something reckless. Maybe Tragic Clown died trying to save her and that’s why they’re buried together
maybe bcz opal is a kid she didnt know how to swim, and since the tragic clown is hydrophobic he never learned how to swim, maybe that led to one of them drowning and the other trying to save them, but since neither knew how to swim, they both d worded. its in the sunset valley cemetery, but i wonder if it has a connection with the crashed car in the river in riverview. since they both have face paint, have good traits, and died by drowning, maybe they were related, and they were in the car that crashed and fell into the river? the river's water level then got lower which revealed the crashed car and the uh. remains. of both of them, so they got buried where theyre officially from. the tragic clown passing in riverview makes sense to me because another iconic sim from a earlier game made a appearance in the town

Sims 3 takes place before Sims 1 & Sims 2. Opal seems similar in a lot of ways to the Tragic Clown, so maybe she was intended to be the first Clown. Again Sims 3 is before the other games, so her being a predecessor clown would add lore, and she doesn't seem to be in the first two games. So the Tragic Clown is "dead" in The Sims 3. He isn't being used as a feature anymore, so he only shows up as a tombstone & a missing person on a milk jug. Opal was probably meant to replace him, but maybe something about the Tragic Clown doesn't work in an open world setting. So they removed Opal as well and put her next to the Tragic Clown. Both are "gone" and not used.
For me Opal was asistent of Tragic Clown and both of them dies on stage. They are also denizens of magic world so people as normal Sims shouldn't know anything. In last dlc for The Sims Classic are hints for Tragic Clown in clown related objects's stories like clownie rollercoaster.
okay okay listen i have an idea opal was indeed a circus kid (i have a headcanon that she performed as a child magician or fortune teller and maybe even had some level of psychic powers, hence the stars on her face and outfit) someone in the circus troupe was previously (or even regularly) involved in investigating and solving crimes and opal looked up at them or even helped them somehow which inspired her lifetime wish nida khan and erdrick gnomeheim were members of the local crime syndicate so they teamed up to get rid of the whole troupe opal and tragic clown were both in the wagon that drowned while crossing a bridge due to nida and erdrick's actions oh no not a ts3 fanfiction plot sprouting in my head
I highly recommend you to follow the lore of custom worlds, like Wraith!!! The creator of this world is just amazing, he put a lot of effort on the families and their stories, you will be shocked by the darkness and drama in this world!!
I don't know why I think both of them drowned on the same day in a circus event, therefore their graves are together. Maybe she heard the tragic story of Tragic Clown told by himself and after that as a kind act she promised him she would become the best spy ever and go find Tragic Clown's family or something that he lost and/or never knew. Idk it just seems "tragic" to me

my theory is: opal's parents died and she started looking for someone to help her, and she found it, the 2 sims forgot the name, sorry, who lived next door to the circus. tired of the noise, they killed the tragic clown, the biggest attraction of the circus, making it close, and when they tried to bury the body, they saw that the opal had seen everything, they also killed so she wouldn't tell the police and buried the two corpses
This might be out there but what if opal was drowning and the tragic clown saw and seeing a kid drowning over powered his fear of water so he could save her but ultimately both drown since having a fear of water means you probably don't know how to swim.
Hi! What I'm about to ask is not related to Opal. When you play in Sunset Valley, after a few weeks a family called the Bakshis will move in to the town. They usually buy one of the lavish mansions in the valley. I couldn't find anything about them, cause they dont have descriptions. There is two man and a woman. The household members are not related, but Sunny Bakshi becomes sweethearts with both of her roommates and often marries one of them. Can you make a video about them?

I wish people that claim Sims 3 is less tragic and more family-friendly than Sims 2 saw this video.
I think since Opal was a daredevil child she would do reckless kids' things. Opal pulled the "I can hold my breath for a really long time" routine and The Tragic Clown thought she was drowning. He went in to help her but given he cannot swim cause he is hydrophobic he ended up drowning them both on accident.
One of my sims accidentally killed her child with this "I can hold my breath longer than you"-game.

My theory was nothing quite so dramatic ^^; I just thought Tragic Clown was drowning, and Opal tried to save him. Neither survived.

What if Opal was an old friend of the Tragic Clown when they were both children or Opal and the Tragic Clown are related one way or another? And Opal's drowning caused Tragic Clown in teens or later to get Hydrophobia trait. And maybe drowned himself in adult life for loss, ignoring his trait because he was trying to find a solution to save her, but to no avail, so he decided to join her.
I have a theory about Opal, her dad was a spy and he was investigating the mystery of the tragic clown, and Opal wanted to be one too and was helping her dad find him, the killer of the tragic clown was in a crime syndicate and didn’t want anyone catching on, so the killer broke into Opal’s house and murdered the entire family, her parents bodies were just labeled “remains” but Opal’s grave was near the Tragic Clown’s to memorialize the search and how it failed...
I imagined the Clown performing at a birthday party (hence the facepaint) and maybe one of the kids, seeing as how cruel kids can be, pushed him in the pool, because he's a hydrophobe he started panicking and our good natured daredevil jumped in to try and save him, but just ended up being dragged down by the panicking man
I know she's one of 6 child Sims that's dead, so you probably have lore to check out on the rest of them (except for Sandra Salas because we know what happened to her)

@@chicmoonie8012 A pre-made playable ghost child in Midnight Hollows, apparently ''died'' of electrocution which is impossible in the Sims 3 as a child, so she's likely a born ghost baby, her parents are pre-made ghosts who died of electrocution or just have that ghost skin in particular.

I think that Opal and the clown were in the circus together and he was murdered by the owner, Erdrick over squabbles about the clowns act as it is a form of art and Erdrick doesn't respect art and actually hates it. Opal may have witnessed the clean up that Erdrick and Nida were doing of his body so decided to also drown her in the same apple bobbing water.
I think the Tragic Clown was the entertainment at a beach birthday party Opal was at when she suddenly started drowning in the ocean. The Clown jumped in to try and save her, but they both ended up drowning. This event would not only explain why he has the hydrophobic trait, but also how he earned his title and why he's cursed for all eternity.

In Twinbrook there is also a buried child called 'Wilhelmina Leaf'. Maybe you could investigate her mystery next. Since her clothing is very reminiscent of a past era, maybe she died long ago...

Maybe Opal was the daughter of a spy, thats the reason wants to be a spy, like the one who look like the men in black in the Sims 1, the clown kill opal in the fountain and they are trying to catch the killer of there daughter but they find out that all this time it was a ghost who die by drowning

I love how you connect these little pieces of info together, I wouldn't have thought of these connections. I remember reading somewhere that the Tragic Clown drowned in his tears, but still, I think it's very likely that he and Opal knew each other or that their deaths are connected. And the insane and dislikes children traits cannot be coincidences! It would also be interesting if Opal was based on It's victims. But I like that theory more when they are friends :D I really like how you showed their possible story in the circus.

The first theory makes more sense to me and it could definitely tie in to the idea that the other two had something to do with her death. If nida was helping him dispose of a body and seen a child nearby it makes sense that she’d want her gone as well. And perhaps they were regulars at the circus as well, deciding on tragic clown as their target
MAYBE...Opal was at the Summer Festival. She had gotten her face painted and had something from the food vendor. She didn't have enough tickets to buy a floatie, but wanted to go swimming. SHE DIDN'T WAIT A HALF HOUR!!! (I don't swim so I don't know if that's even a real thing!) She cramped up in the pool. Opal was drowning, and TC, seeing no one around, and no other avenue, went in to get her even though he couldn't swim. I mean, ya gotta do SOMETHING, yeah? That would fit the whole tragic thing. Since neither had family, they were inextricably linked and buried side by side. 😇😇

Fun fact: sims can't drow in the ocean, but they can swim pretty far into it. She most likely drowned in of the community pools.

I have my theory. Maybe Opal was a circus kid as you said. Since Erdrick can't stand art he hated the circus people. One day he saw the tragic clown hanging around and drawnd him in one of his insanity attacks. Opal saw everything and he noticed her and killed her in the same day. That's all I can think about

idk why but Opal gives me Gosalyn from Darkwing Duck vibes. The only things that really fit are hair, traits, and the Spy thing though. One could argue drowning but there's likely better death causes if it was a reference to her though.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate all your videos, it's always apparent just how much effort and passion you put into this series and the games in general. That being said, with your wedding coming up, don't feel pressured to push content out; do it on your own time and put your needs first! I honestly never even knew about this mystery either so it's great to hear even more. I'll admit playing the Sims as a kid I had no idea about the lore the game possessed, I always just created my own families and ignored the other Sims lol. But now I've paid special attention to the world around me, and I have you to thank for that :)
Had to pause midway at 6:23 to make some speculations.
I think Opal is an orphan and Tragic Clown "adopted" her into the circus family. When they were on tour, perhaps they were trying to attempt a magic trick (maybe trying to escape a water tank of some sort?) and something went horribly wrong, which caused both of them to drown. Thinking that Opal is a daredevil and has face paintings (which is common amongst circus performers) it makes sense. She would dare to do something, risking her life in the process.
But Tragic clown is hydrophobic so it raises the question; why would he want to be in a water escape tank? Maybe that's where the murder part comes in. His circus manager wanted the biggest show of Sunset Valley and assigned him and Opal the performance. That's were it goes terribly wrong. Maybe the tank was rigged so they wouldn't be able to escape? Or maybe it's just a pure accident.
Either way, I'm going to unpause now.

i have like the weirdest glitch with sunset valley if i loaded a different world prior to.But basically all of the ghost will appear on a ton of lots in my game, specifically community lots and i’ve always noticed Opal. She has always caught my eye due to the fact she is a child. So thank you for helping me get a little bit of info for her !!

i know that somewhere in sims 1 it's written that the tragic clown worked in a fast food restaurant. The fast food burned down and everyone died except the tragic clown, causing impostor syndrome. He then drowned in his tears. So that's my theory (sorry for the bad english)

I like the idea if maybe tragic clown died trying to save her from drowning and they both lost their life. Tho he is incapable of drowning, it would be cool for storytelling that in an attempt to put aside his fear for this child. I feel like it plays in extra with his name
i think a mix of all 3 tbh, opal parents died and she was put into the costodat of her aunt and uncle, both unstable in their own ways. her aunt hating children convinced her uncle to drop her off at the circus. when opal was left there she was crying and met the tragic clown, who tried to comfort her tho not knowing how to that well. after a year of opal at the circus the clown asked the aunt and uncle for costudy of her. the uncle, being insane, refused and convinced his wife to come with him to kill the clown. opal and the clown shared a home at the circus. when opal woke up to gurgling from the outside she went outside and saw her uncle drowning the clown. she tried not to cry but made a noise. causing her and to grab her and drown her also. leaving the bodies for the others to find and bury. (sorry if that made no sence i tried.)

No, here's what happened:
Opal came to the fair with her parents, but somehow got separated from them. A crazy man, a carny, found her lost and sad. Much to the chagrin of his "roommate", he took her in but shortly thereafter died. But ol girl didn't like kids, so, as long as Opal didn't disturb her while she listened to the radio, everything was fine. But then, sad for the loss of her partner and kooky old friend, she died, too. Meanwhile Opal and the tragic clown had gotten to know each other and had become very close sad friends. He loved her daredevil, just for the fun of it ways, which made him feel... not so tragic.
When the old carnies both had died one after the other, he had taken her in. No more working booths with crazy, mean old people, they were headed to the Big Top. They woulda start their own act. They rehearsed, and for a while, it took her mind off of everything, however, she was still sad, and that made her distracted at times. First losing her parents, then her caretakers, she still was only a little girl, after all. Everything had happened so suddenly.
One night, during their opening act, just as they came out, she thought she heard her name. She turned to the familiar voice, but it was at the wrong time. For An Instant, she thought she saw a familiar set of faces in the crowd. She missed her mark and, well, she fell into the fountain and hit her head, losing consciousness. Her impact loosened the top of the fountain. When TC went to catch her her, the top fell on him, knocking him unconscious, too, pinning him under water. He tried to overcome his fears to save her, but tragically didn't. The faces faded back into the crowd.
And that's why they are all next to each other, yet aren't connected to anyone in town... or are they?
Just binge-watched ALL of your videos and I loveeeeeeee it so much! I really hope you could make more videos about sims lore that is on other console like Sims Urbz/Sims Bustin Out (PS2). Would love getting to know all sims backstory.
I think the sims who died at an elderly age had something to do with the dissapearance and death of Tragic Clown and Opal; Since Opal had the lifetimewish of becoming a superspy, I think she was spying something she shouldn't, like...something happening to the clown, and it led to her death. Maybe they both died the same way at the same day, since they share the cause: drowning. It would create a pattern - The sims that did this probably got away with the murder since they died of old age; Their traits also indicate that they have reasons to do this, like, being the emperor or empress of evil, mean-spirited, insane, or something. Maybe the tragic clown did a bad joke - I mean, being a clow and making jokes, dressing some type of way is art, it isn't it? - and it triggered something on Erdrick; Nida helped him, and knowing that Opal saw it while disliking children, I think Nida commit a crime agaisnt Opal.
Fun fact: I know the lotta greaves vampire theory was long ago, but on the lessons tab in the sims 3 on “influencing other sims” the 2 pictures show Elvira and Vladmir I’m pretty sure talking about something in what looks to be a bar area lol
I think your theory makes sense. I didn't look into the other sims buried in the graveyard before your movie, but now I think you're right.
In my theory, Opal was an orphan and was adopted to become a crime master (to fulfill her "parents" wish). She wasn't a bad person, so she was misunderstood and lonely in her family. One day she met the tragic clown and became friends with him because he looked like her - just as sad and lonely as she was. Unfortunately, her insane uncle and bad aunt found out about her friendship. They didn't even like her before, but the tragic clown and his friendship changed her, he gave her self confident and she decided about follow her dreams, so she decided to become a policewoman, which they didn't like. When her aunt and uncle realized that she would not be usefull, they decided to murder her. They took her for a walk or something and when they were left alone, they threw her into the pool, but unexpectedly, when she was drowning, a tragic clown jumped into the pool to save her life. Unfortunately, he failed, and that explains why he drowned, even though he was afraid of the water.
And of course after that, insane uncle and bad aunt buried the bodies and forgot the case

Since we don't know if the tragic clown was working at a circus, it is possible that he was an actor on a kids tv show. I think Nida was Opal’s caretaker and Erdrick maybe a neighbour or friend. Opal idolized the clown, but Nida was a technophobe and disliked children. Since Erdrick was flirty and Nida easily impressed he might have told her "I will make this clown go missing" and so he did. Opal was very invested in the missing case of the clown. So, she either did find him somewhere where she could have drowned as well or might have asked too many questions. And since Nida wants to be that evil mastermind too, maybe they both wanted to get away with murder, thus making them partners in crime. And maybe they did get caught, thus not fulfilling their lifewishes.
Further things I noticed to kind of back this up: .
- I had the idea of the tv clown because of that kids channel in the sims 3
- It is possible that Erdrick did kill the clown because he (1) doesn't like art, (2) is insane (insane sims never freak out when they see a ghost), (3) wants to be that evil mastermind (4) and since he misses a trait, that one could be evil. However the biggest giveaway for me is, that he is (5) a kleptomaniac: he maybe could have stolen the pool ladder…)
- Children can’t live alone and will be picked up by a social worker if the last sim who could take care of them dies. And a family won't move towns far away from their dead children. Since she she close to Nidas and Erdricks graves, it makes sense she would have been closer to them when she was alive
The fairytale aspect behind my theory:
- Erdrick is meant to represent a gnome obviously (garden gnomes love to make shenanigans and love gemstones, they also trade with them sometimes)
- Opal represents a gemstone (thus the sparkling stars and the name)
- Nida might be of Arabic descent because of her last name (One might think this could be a reference to the expressive markets from 1001 Nights where they trade gemstones)

It could be that since she was a daredevil she had wandered away from the circus while she was on a trip and fell into the water and drowned doing something reckless. Maybe Tragic Clown died trying to save her and that’s why they’re buried together
maybe bcz opal is a kid she didnt know how to swim, and since the tragic clown is hydrophobic he never learned how to swim, maybe that led to one of them drowning and the other trying to save them, but since neither knew how to swim, they both d worded. its in the sunset valley cemetery, but i wonder if it has a connection with the crashed car in the river in riverview. since they both have face paint, have good traits, and died by drowning, maybe they were related, and they were in the car that crashed and fell into the river? the river's water level then got lower which revealed the crashed car and the uh. remains. of both of them, so they got buried where theyre officially from. the tragic clown passing in riverview makes sense to me because another iconic sim from a earlier game made a appearance in the town

Sims 3 takes place before Sims 1 & Sims 2. Opal seems similar in a lot of ways to the Tragic Clown, so maybe she was intended to be the first Clown. Again Sims 3 is before the other games, so her being a predecessor clown would add lore, and she doesn't seem to be in the first two games.
So the Tragic Clown is "dead" in The Sims 3. He isn't being used as a feature anymore, so he only shows up as a tombstone & a missing person on a milk jug. Opal was probably meant to replace him, but maybe something about the Tragic Clown doesn't work in an open world setting. So they removed Opal as well and put her next to the Tragic Clown. Both are "gone" and not used.
For me Opal was asistent of Tragic Clown and both of them dies on stage. They are also denizens of magic world so people as normal Sims shouldn't know anything. In last dlc for The Sims Classic are hints for Tragic Clown in clown related objects's stories like clownie rollercoaster.
Time to go adopt her and make some ambrosia

opal was indeed a circus kid (i have a headcanon that she performed as a child magician or fortune teller and maybe even had some level of psychic powers, hence the stars on her face and outfit)
someone in the circus troupe was previously (or even regularly) involved in investigating and solving crimes and opal looked up at them or even helped them somehow which inspired her lifetime wish
nida khan and erdrick gnomeheim were members of the local crime syndicate so they teamed up to get rid of the whole troupe
opal and tragic clown were both in the wagon that drowned while crossing a bridge due to nida and erdrick's actions

I don't know why I think both of them drowned on the same day in a circus event, therefore their graves are together. Maybe she heard the tragic story of Tragic Clown told by himself and after that as a kind act she promised him she would become the best spy ever and go find Tragic Clown's family or something that he lost and/or never knew. Idk it just seems "tragic" to me

my theory is: opal's parents died and she started looking for someone to help her, and she found it, the 2 sims forgot the name, sorry, who lived next door to the circus. tired of the noise, they killed the tragic clown, the biggest attraction of the circus, making it close, and when they tried to bury the body, they saw that the opal had seen everything, they also killed so she wouldn't tell the police and buried the two corpses
This might be out there but what if opal was drowning and the tragic clown saw and seeing a kid drowning over powered his fear of water so he could save her but ultimately both drown since having a fear of water means you probably don't know how to swim.

Hi! What I'm about to ask is not related to Opal. When you play in Sunset Valley, after a few weeks a family called the Bakshis will move in to the town. They usually buy one of the lavish mansions in the valley. I couldn't find anything about them, cause they dont have descriptions. There is two man and a woman. The household members are not related, but Sunny Bakshi becomes sweethearts with both of her roommates and often marries one of them. Can you make a video about them?

Or she was swimming in a pool or the ocean and drown like that. She was clearly alive long ago before Morty was born. So her parents probably buried her and moved towns. Which is why she doesn't have any family members in her family tree. Accidents happen a lot to young children.
