  • 7th generation Nissan Maxima 3.5 spark plug change. This fixed a P0101 mass air flow code that had been showing up for years. This is the 1st spark plug change on the car at 133,000 miles. I bought all the parts from rockauto.com and just googled the instructions from interwebs on air intake removal. This is the original mass air flow sensor. The 14mm socket was purchased from amazon.

      still running like a champ-i was a little intimidated at first - but i watched many utube vids for all kinds of tips and there was a guy in new york who changed his. murano plugs who made it very simple. U also see other vids where they take off more than what’s needed and break hoses and vacuum lines.

    Thanks a million for this video. Im about to do this job on my 2016 maxima, looks very similar. I needed to find the torque sequence for the intake manifold COLLECTOR (the black thing on top) I was looking for the intake manifold sequence the whole time. This video helped get me the info I needed.

    A regular spark plug socket will work. You don’t need what they call a thin wall. It’s plenty room in there for a regular socket.

    I have a 2009, these cars have a slight growl when you crank them up. I started smiling because I thought something was wrong with the car!! I was happy to hear that same sound when you started it. The hubby and I are literally doing everything you did plus the fuel injectors. We're having misfire issues. Hopefully this will clear it up. Looking forward to improving the gas milage as well. Great tutorial!

    Excellent work but, 133,000 miles!!! That’s 214,000 kms in my language which equates to more than two times the mileage these plugs should have been changed at. Service manual on my Maxima recommends plugs at around 100,000 kms!
    You’ve done extremely well then.

    How often should you replace spark plugs and coils? (I Drive a 2011 Nissan Maxima).

    • @jcravatt1
      @jcravatt1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1 hundred thousand miles for plugs- the coils is probably owners preference- inspect the coils - if they aren’t damaged- keep using

    @jcravatt1 Hey man, i also own a 2011 Nissan Maxima & I’ve noticed that the acceleration is pretty bad... I’m pretty sure my vehicle is in need of a Spark Plug/Ignition Coil replacement.
    Did u notice any major difference as far performance in the acceleration after replacing the Spark Plug/Ignition Coils?

    • @jcravatt1
      @jcravatt1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not really- i finally got the guts to do this maintenance on my 10year old maxima- before i changed em- never had any misfires or any acceleration problems
