What shocked/disappointed me the most with the story mode (besides Vegeta’s not having any Super fights and Trunks’ skipping the androids arc) is the lack of the fight with Broly, the game’s aesthetic was so heavily influenced by the DBS Broly so it shocked me that not even Goku’s episode battle featured the DBS Broly fight
Probably because of how many maps that aren’t even added in, they had to skip a bunch of them, like universe 6 and broly movie, although not adding in trunks vs the androids or vegeta in super is questionable
@MartyN2A nope, you gotta press R3 then press directional buttons. There is just so much input delays in the game that didn't exist in BT3 lol. A lot of it you can get used to, but transformations feel so inorganic lol. I love the game but it feels so weirdly unpolished and rushed in some areas.
Something I haven’t seen mentioned much is the character count for tournaments. It’s not a huge deal, but previous games allowed us to have 16 player tourneys (at least offline) and this would make the tournament mode much more competitive.
I agree, the more the better. I didn't mind too much cuz the original db tournaments in the anime only had 8 finalists but for a video game 16 would be better
There just isn't enough here to be the massive game it tried to be. No extra costumes. You get a halo for like 4 characters to put on and i guess you can take on and off the scouters. (even if that makes your character weaker?) I feel like if you didn't just LOVE the fighting only in the game then there isn't much else there is to it. I know that's the point of the game but i mean it's a dragon ball name. Where's the funny dumb fusions between tien and yamcha? It's just a good game. nothing great about it.

About the matchmaking, I think they should make it more like Brawlhalla. Making the lobby only for fighting with friends, and for casual, just like the ranked one. And if someone dc mid game, they could replace him by a bot so the other player can continue to play.
If it goes the FighterZ route and they gradually improve it, take criticisms as constructive, than this should have a long life span. Even if it takes times to perfect it, it's obvious they care, they set up a solid skeleton for the HD era for Sparking!.
super counter is hard to land when you're staggering your combos, theres lots of ways to go about defending and just focusing on super countering is detrimental, theres a lot of people online who spam super counter but fail to do a basic vanish agaisnt a charged attack. Also vanish battles become less common when you know about ki advantage and revenge countering properly. So this leaves us with 2 options, only use super counter if you have ki advantage and use super counter when theyre hitting you from the back
Regardless, most casual players aren't going to look that deep into the "optimal way to play" so they'll z-vanish a lot. And they really shouldn't cost as little ki as they do I stand by that
@MartyN2A I agree with the whole vanish battles, Id wish they were faster and not as monotonous as they are but costing more ki wouldnt change the fact that you need ki advantage, speeding the entire interaction is a must cuz its boring. And for the casual player, theres just a lot of depth to the combat of this game and they cant sit on "oh well theres nothing I can do against super counter" when theres plenty you can do and exploit certain playstyles

Maybe they’ll add more what if or they will add the arcs that they skipped that would be a cool little surprise. Maybe they can explain that they didn’t have time to finish them and they’re gonna spend more time doing those skipped arcs and we get them as DLC.
This is the first fighting game I actually really enjoyed playing, and it made me actually fully watch and read dragonball before I played the story modes. I think it's insanely fun, but I definitely agree all of the defensive options are far too easy and offensive knockdowns for guaranteed supers are also really easy for certain characters. I also think there should be a cooldown on using an instant sparking mode skill as even though I love them, chaining two ultimates together is insanely easy and not fun to be on the recieving end of. Also just a personal gripe, I think some of the rush supers do a little too much damage, they feel like mini ults sometimes and have even less consistent hitboxes.
There is a way to play "red potara" in the game, using custom battles, where you can add op capsules that mimic red potaras in BT3 to some extent, although it takes some work to do. However as an offline player, the biggest thing that annoys me apart from the story being ass is the CPU difficulty outside the story. The super CPU 20/20 is so easy and predictable where it mostly super counters and cant vanish more than two times, and at mid/long range it just stands there idling waiting for player to do something. I wish this is something that they fix and if they could add more offline modes (something like sim dragon, mission 100), that would be great.
That makes no sense. "hey we already have this other game that you can pay for, so one of the key modes in our game is gonna be undercooked, give us $90 please" I never said the cutscenes needed to be as good but come on, they can do better
What's the perspective... that a game that I paid over $100 for should have one of it's key game modes be underdeveloped because a different 5 year old game did it already? Stop defending these companies that just want our money and demand that they do better
@MartyN2A majority of players did not buy sparking zero to play story. Stop the cap man. Why would they put alot of effort into a mode they have an entire other game for. These developers have to waste their time dealing with an immature community that can someone play for 1000 hours in one month then talk about the game stale. The game is fine, the community sucks.
Maybe they’ll add more what if or they will add the arcs that they skipped that would be a cool little surprise. Maybe they can explain that they didn’t have time to finish them and they’re gonna spend more time doing those skipped arcs and we get them as DLC. My point maybe they didn’t put those parts in because of time constraints and they let them out to them that way more love to be put into them when they get added as DLC
That's true actually that's one part that I didn't mention. I guess cuz I don't have anyone I can play with locally. But definitely disappointing that they didn't focus on it. Another sign they rushed the game
While I do have many complains for the story mode, many that u pointed out. One of the ones that bugged me the most was the transformation like goku and vegeta going super saiyan for the first time, and vegeta going grade 2; I definitely think it was rushed but like, they literally already have animation for those transformation in the game and they even did it for gohan going super saiyan 2 so like why? Especially goku going super saiyan on Namek, as iconic as that scene is, AND the fact that they gave goku (mid) a unique transformation animation but did not use it for that scene is actually criminal. It was the least they could do. Also, once u clear the story for vegeta, u can see that his arrow trail keeps going pass the final fight against buu so its definitely bc they didnt have enough time to finish/missing maps.
I totally agree with your first point. The second point tho, everyone's fights are laid out on the same map, so his arrows continuing has nothing to do with his story, it's just cuz the other characters have fights past him
Speaking as someone who both never cared for arena fighters nor modern Dragon Ball: curiosity got me here. FighterZ remains the one game that peaks my interest despite having BoG and newer stuff. Kakarot doesn't look bad at all but it didn't draw me in. I played Xenoverse 1 for >150! hours before finally deciding it's bad. Then I skipped Xenoverse 2. That might be the average length for most AAA games (if you have the time), but for a fanservice game and for a genre he loved, it's surprising.

i think the game i great but skill points charge WAY to quickly and the players that abuse insta spark ruin the online experience for me. i play on pc and literally everyone is abusing mechanics as much as they possibly can. i just want to throw hands with people and it seems like I'm one of the only ones. they also need to make super counters a 1 frame input so people cant just spam it. on top of that I've had so many bugs with the controls and connection and its caused me to lose more matches than i can count. this game has so much potential but its just a 6/10 right now for me unless your playing with friends which i don't have any that have a pc.
Can’t nerf super counter without buffing revenge counter. No super counter would make unlimited backshots😂😂 unless you fuse revenge counter and super counter making it work from behind and using atleast one skill point

Bro I deleted sparking Zero After 3 weeks.. every single rank match has the same charactersand the game is boring. I can’t even play against friends because they don’t let us open a room… this game is so beautiful but I don’t understand why they not keep the mechanics from BT3 or even Xenoverse. It’s just not fun
@ you can vanish ults, you get frames before it gets to you it just takes timing. In addition, you can super counter vanishes, also revenge counter takes blast stock and super counters requires you to be frame perfect it’s just easy to do in rank since people just spam square
That's what I'm saying tho, you can spam super counters without any skill and it'll still work. As for ultimates, some are just far too quick after their animation to dodge imo
I am bt3 veteran with 13 years of experience. I dont have energy to comment on these anymore so I will just say I am disappointed. This game had enormous potential, but Bandai ruins everything every time. So sad

Really? I've played some offline and whilst the ai isn't amazing, I guess I didn't notice it being too bad. I like how you can adjust their playstyle at least
I’m gonna buy it soon, I loved kakarot so I hope it’s as good
Gameplay wise definitely better than kakarot. Story/cutscene wise not even close
You can make a room. Just make private slots in the player match and give them the code
That survey feels like something you'd do as a kid for free robux. I couldn't get through it.
Glad you wanna see the game improve 👍
Is it better than dragon ball kakarot?
Gameplay wise miles better, that game was mind-numbing to me. Cutscenes obviously nowhere near as good
You can vanish it’s and counter counters
What?
People type stuff without meaning all the time, dont worry about it
@ you can vanish ults, you get frames before it gets to you it just takes timing. In addition, you can super counter vanishes, also revenge counter takes blast stock and super counters requires you to be frame perfect it’s just easy to do in rank since people just spam square
@ it was auto correct calm down buddy
That's what I'm saying tho, you can spam super counters without any skill and it'll still work. As for ultimates, some are just far too quick after their animation to dodge imo
I am bt3 veteran with 13 years of experience. I dont have energy to comment on these anymore so I will just say I am disappointed. This game had enormous potential, but Bandai ruins everything every time. So sad
I don't blame you for being disappointed
@@MartyN2A they nailed the graphics aspect at least 😍 but the gameplay is overall weaker than bt3
Gained a new sub bro
Happy to hear! ☺️
This game has absolutely 0 immersion and no soul it literally is so good damn lifeless
Even the models are terrible and don’t fix most of the characters and feel so out of place especially teen gohan his entire character and personality and fighting style and progression is just gone
I guess you ain't copping this game then 😂
@ like imma just be honest I was expecting a lot but it just was a huge buggy let down again and again. All the features were gone from bt3 and raging blast that actually made them fun and the story is completely empty they literally gave it no effort whatsoever besides graphics this game is a god damn disaster that they could’ve avoided
what about a random map selection 😐
Ya that's strange too 😅
Good video but lets be honest
Its a 6/10 not 7
I think 7 is fair haha
You can recover from hard knockdowns
How? Am I clicking something wrong. Aside from vanishing an attack it seems like all I can do is let myself fall
@MartyN2A Flicking analog stick up and down, dont know any other details but most people Im facing are recovering from hard knockdowns
@@MartyN2A I managed to do it, yeah just flick up and down right after getting knocked back, if you fail you keep falling
