The 19/20 retcon is likely referring to the original run of the manga, where Trunks warns of "Androids 19 and 20", but after the droids from his future were retconned to 17 and 18, subsequent printings have him leave out their numbers.
FYI: The thing about Vegeta saying “9000” rather than “8000” because “9000” syncs better with the animation makes no sense and has been debunked. 8 and 9 are both 1 syllable and home releases of Kai have Vegeta say “8000.” It’s more likely that they changed it to 9000 because it sounds cooler. 4:11
Everything you said in the back tingle section was straight facts. I find it MIND-BOGGLING that the fandom gets mad over Cauflia turning Super Saiyan, but almost no one had any complaints when Goten and Trunks, two children who couldn't even fly yet, were able to turn Super Saiyan at the age of 8.
@@namesdontmattergaming2756 That's not how super saiyan works... Just because your father can turn into a super saiyan doesn't mean you can. If that was the case, Future Trunks would've been able to turn Super Saiyan easily, and Pan and Bulla would've been able to turn Super Saiyan easily at the end of DBZ. Stop making excuses.
@@jantheking7028 Pretty sure I said easier access, not absolute access. Vegeta and Bulma made trunks around the time he was training to attain super saiyan. Goten was conceived during the days waiting for the cell games, when Goku had already mastered full powered super saiyan. Kid Trunks and Goten are friends/rivals so spending lots of time together leads to them working off each other even at a young age. Also we don’t know if Kid Trunks or Goten didn’t have an emotional catalyst. The back tingle is stupid and you know it
@@namesdontmattergaming2756 Like I said earlier, absolutley everything you just said is just your own BS headcanon that you are using to try and justify how stupid goten and trunks turning super saiyan was. None of that makes sense. There has NEVER been any indication that having super saiyan parents makes you somehow turn into a super saiyan easier. Goten and Trunks turning super saiyan was such BS, that it makes even less sense then the back tingle. At least Cauflia was a trained saiyan warrior who had a lot of battle experience when she turned super saiyan. On the other hand, Goten was literally an 8 year old child with MINIMAL battle experience and couldn't even fly yet. Bro couldn't even fly yet he could somehow turn super saiyan. Stop making excuses dude.
@@jantheking7028 It’s been shown saiyans and half saiyans have more potential than their progenitors, if there progenitors were already strong through training already. Just look at Gohan’s ridiculously high potential, kid was a super saiyan through training in the hyperbolic time chamber at 9
the gohan age thing probably refers to how gohan was 3 in original manga releases but it was changed to 4 later. first couple chapters, gohan meeting the rest of the z fighters.
Blue mister Popo ISN'T from average Dragon Ball Kai. It is from a specific channel, along with many other censorships that are misspreaded as being from the original show.
All current DBZ physical releases include the Johnson/Faulconer score. It’s labeled as “English 2.0” in the audio settings. Crunchyroll and Funimation only have the Kikuchi score, however.
I feel that people don't know about the tokusatsu influence in Dragon ball z. Like chi chi's outfit resembling Ultraseven from the Ultraman franchise or the Ginyu force being a parody of Super Sentai/Power Rangers or that one random dude from the Tournament of Power being a Kamen rider reference. (Let's not forget, the great saiyaman also, being a kamen rider reference.)
Something that’s interesting about the Bang Zoom dub is that Sean Chiplock voiced Future Trunks and he’s pretty much the only “big name” VA on the project although there is no footage of the Black Arc’s Bang Zoom dub.
My headcanon about the whole “back tingle” explanation is that it’s simply a little trick that Universe 6 developed since they’d probably work under slightly different rules. We’ve already seen that Universe 7 saiyans have plenty of ways to achieve transformation. The main activation is to be a pure heart corrupted by emotional anguish, but people like Vegeta contradict that. We know that characters like Goten and Trunks are able to activate their forms without having to break through some emotional trigger. Emotional trauma is the easiest way to activate it but there are alternate ways. I personally think it could also be an inheritance situation. Goten and Trunks were born into families with fathers that have already unlocked the form so the potential could already be in them. So all they might need for an awakening is to look for a little tingle in their back and let it go. But for a saiyan like Goku who was born from average saiyan parents, it took the pain of seeing a loved one die to awaken his abilities. Maybe Caulifla could have inherited that from her parents. Who knows, it’s just my desire to make it so it’s not an overhaul of the transformation. I’m sure it’s not since we have at least one Universe 6 saiyan that awakened the traditional way.
No all this is your head canon you made up because you didn’t wanna accept there’s a trick to transform into Ssj instead of losing a loved one. That’s all it is my guy, just a trick to skip past the need of someone dying in order to transform cause imagine Krillin had to die everytime for Goku to use Ssj1. The back tingle makes sense as there’s definitely a technique to transforming.
I find it hard to believe, given the accessibility to dragon ball, the sheer amount of years it's been out, and it's cultural relevance in both the East and West, that Abridged was most fans first exposure to dragon ball.
Well super gotenks and mystic Gohan would’ve been capable of dealing with kid buu as he’s less powerful than super buu, they didn’t do it because “reasons” but still they are theoretically capable of doing so

Few things * Gohan's age may refer to how at the start of the Saiyan saga, he's introduced as being three. Then a chapter later it's changed to four and all future publications of the chapter, as well as the anime refers to him by the older age. It's likely the case as Toiryama felt having a three year old punched by Radditz wouldn't look good. * It should also be noted it was Toiryama's former editor who disliked both 19/20 and 17/18, not his then editor. His then editor was the one who forced him to have Cell become perfect asap, not liking his second form. * Finally, Toiryama's first editor (the one who called him about the androids) is also the basis/inspiration for the villain Dr Mashirito in Dr Slump and Piccolo/Demon King Piccolo.
40:30 I think this could be referring specifically to the fact that in the original printing of the chapter, Trunks says Androids 19 and 20 are the ones that destroyed everything in his timeline.
Man, that Dragon Ball AF picture was such a big thing that it was also deemed true over here in my country as a real DBZ saga. I still remember when I was little some kids talking about it like it was THE thing. Such good times...
The end of GT is [most likely] referring to a theory in which how goku beats omega shenron and goes with good shenron is because giving up his mortal body and desires in order to ascend which is something common in Buddhist beliefs. This may explain why hes allowed to go with shenron,in that scene the sky is doesnt become darker and despite leaving his gi behind he still wears while riding shenron as that is a part of his soul as a person. Idk it's a cool theory🤷♂️
17:03 little correction, that ssj design was made by toriyama, not by the movie creators He later changed it to blonde hair after the release of the movie
22:53 “Super Saiyan Power” this isn’t a transformation, if you probe just a little further most agree that at the last moment they decided not to have Goku turn Super Saiyan here so that it would be more impactful when he revealed the form to Pikuhan later in the Other World Tournament - because it was such a short scene and perhaps they didn’t have time to redraw it, they just recoloured his hair black. As for the Father Son Kamehameha, I’m pretty sure it’s just the force of the wind from Gohan’s blast pushing his hair back. The card game thing I can’t explain.
Came here for the iceberg, stayed for the commentary... but I definitely subscribed for the listing of time as music albums released on the mentioned years
Gohan's Age actually most likely refers to "Teen" Gohan actually being 11. The moniker of "Teen" was actually a dub change, as there was a limit on how much violence you could show happening to children on a PG rating. While that was mostly fine when he was younger and never the main combatant, the fight against Cell was unavoidable to portray him as an 11 year old without some major censorship. So "Teen" is a purposeful misnomer to trick executives and censors to approve of the end of the Cell Saga.
DBFB didn't have motion control, but they used motion capture for the animations DBZVRVS was supposed to have motion capture but was canceled (I think)
The last one with vegeta is actually disturbing i saw it and yea it can give some nightmare fuel also when your bit younger but the rest was interesting
At 5:15 there is a picture of gohan giving goku the power pole. What episode is that? I watched blood rubies and the pilaf saga and I’ve never seen that frame
some other funny stuff i know is the german gt dub not only did it took them 10 years to do them they also cut whole scenes out because they didnt wanted to censor them or for what ever reasons some episodes are even completly gone especially during the end especially the ones featuring ice and nouva shenron idk why tho (next to the audio quality sounding like its recorded with a dollar store mic in a basement)
The back tingle is connecting the idea of chakra points directly to the franchise. In particular the rainbow of colors and their connections to the human body. The yellow ssj hair is connected to the yellow chakra point along the back/solar plexis(power chakra point). Or rose and its connection to the crown chakra (spirituality chakra point) used purely by a god. You can continue this for the other transformations if you wish for “head canon”.
25:32 I think the most absurd easter egg in Budokai 3 is if you choose Goku and start a fight against any character, you can decide to do nothing at all for 13 minutes and then Goku will look at the player.
i like the back tingle. cuz its kinda stupid to have everyone have trauma and form the tory drama, its not uncommon for artists to reuse older poses and stuff.
Fyi. Much like the shadow dragons spirits got created and housed in the dragon balls, so did Goku's. If you watch the full ending, all the dragon balls are absorbed into him, the last being the four star with dramatic flair, then go into the sky and dispersed like usual. In essence, Goku's soul or spirit lives on in the dragon balls.
The last topic you talk about is real btw idk if it was final bout but there was a cut game during the PS era that used motion controls and there is even photos of it on the internet. Yuriofwind talked about it on his canceled dragon ball games so many years ago but yeah it’s real
I'm assuming the Budokai 3 easter egg was supposed to be the one where Goku looks directly at the player if he doesn't move or get it for 13 mins straight
I think that the final bout motion controls were from a Event. I can’t remember which one but it shows a guy with the costume, like Goku using this like hand device.

... "Surprise!"
Their fathers were capable of going super saiyan, so they probably inherited an easier ability to access the form.
Evn the Ginyu Force Japanese name is "Ginyu Toku-sentai"
You're thinking about something that he made up on the fly way to much lol. Who cares. Super saiyan is just some cheap plot device after the cell saga
Girl no its just there goku has it too he said it himself its not that serious
"worlds strongest/worlds strongest fighter" being changed to "strongest guy in the world" is so funny
34:45 Of course Gotenks can beat Kid Buu. He's the weakest form of Majin Buu.
I find it hard to believe, given the accessibility to dragon ball, the sheer amount of years it's been out, and it's cultural relevance in both the East and West, that Abridged was most fans first exposure to dragon ball.
Certainly not most, but for many!
Gohans age change means that in the orginal chapter gohan has introduced hes 3, in the next one he is changed to 4
Well super gotenks and mystic Gohan would’ve been capable of dealing with kid buu as he’s less powerful than super buu, they didn’t do it because “reasons” but still they are theoretically capable of doing so
It says together they'd beat Kid
Also he's stronger than regular Supa
It's still a stretch considering some feats but we know teamwork > sum
@@batguy39 no, kid buu is nos as strong as super buu
🗿
kid buu is buu's strongest form
@@lukeskywalker9016 I think that would be Buuhan
I was so confused why people were angry at the back tingle, I still am
Some notable plagiarism by Yamamoto:
• "Challengers" from DBZ Budokai is a rip off of " Hunting High & Low" by Stratovarius
• "Move Forward Fearlessly" from DBZ Budokai is a rip off of "Glory of the World" by Stratovarius
• "GIRI-GIRI -Sekai Kyokugen" is a rip off of "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin
• "Senritsu no Toki" from DBZ Budokai is a rip off of Black Sabbath's " Iron Man " & "Black Sabbath"
That’s a nice intro nod to golden harvest studios
Yamamoto plagiarized nearly every song in the original budokai which is crazy considering those were some stellar themes
I love the original Dragonball series, watched it in the late 80's as a teenager and it was hilarious.
Oh based.
I love Dragon Ball as a franchise and I'm glad I have a video to watch on it this evening. Keep up the excellent content!
Goku x Anne Frank is still a less weird crossover than Lucina x Spider-Man. At least the former doesnt have hundreds of lewd images and was made as an innocent fanfiction.

Fun fact about the over 9000 entry is that it’s actually a mistranslation. It was originally supposed to say over 8000
no way
None of the actual FNAF games scared me. But this, this is truly horrifying. I cannot comprehend how scared I was when I saw an animatronic at my door, even the newer models.

Everytime I see "Yamamoto" in any Dragon Ball related stuff my heart stop for a sec.
Few things
* Gohan's age may refer to how at the start of the Saiyan saga, he's introduced as being three.
The paradox of being dedicated and studious enough to cover an iceberg, but not know how to pronounce multiple names.
The ultimate irony of Most icebergs is that they’re a mile wide but an inch deep in detail
“When vegeta dropped this hard line” “AT BEEE-KAY HAVE IT YOUR WAY YOU RULE!”

17:03 little correction, that ssj design was made by toriyama, not by the movie creators
He later changed it to blonde hair after the release of the movie
22:53 “Super Saiyan Power” this isn’t a transformation, if you probe just a little further most agree that at the last moment they decided not to have Goku turn Super Saiyan here so that it would be more impactful when he revealed the form to Pikuhan later in the Other World Tournament - because it was such a short scene and perhaps they didn’t have time to redraw it, they just recoloured his hair black. As for the Father Son Kamehameha, I’m pretty sure it’s just the force of the wind from Gohan’s blast pushing his hair back. The card game thing I can’t explain.
Now I understand the Little Green jokes from DBZA
They really called my man Piccolo "Big Green"
I'll be honest, I got this for Christmas and I rather enjoyed it. I had a PSX and Dreamcast and wanted power stone, but was hyped to get SW.
Bro how can you attack me like that. Using Modest Mouse’s good news and shin’s wincing… that was personal.
DBFB didn't have motion control, but they used motion capture for the animations
DBZVRVS was supposed to have motion capture but was canceled (I think)
Final bout had a tech demo showing and clips in a magazine indeed showing someone playing the game with motion controls
Bro missed Vegeta vs Homer
49:47 that character is none other than Nappa. It's supposed to be just some other character randomly wearing sayian armor.
Hay esencia en la miniatura
some other funny stuff i know is the german gt dub
not only did it took them 10 years to do them
they also cut whole scenes out because they didnt wanted to censor them or for what ever reasons
some episodes are even completly gone especially during the end especially the ones featuring ice and nouva shenron idk why tho (next to the audio quality sounding like its recorded with a dollar store mic in a basement)

Geekdom has stated that what he said is that dbs may be back in 2019,he didn't have confirmation
RIP Akira Toriyama.
Just a point on the Kai censorship it is uncut on the blu ray and is known as the best dub for z because it’s the most accurate to the Japanese
The back tingle is connecting the idea of chakra points directly to the franchise. In particular the rainbow of colors and their connections to the human body. The yellow ssj hair is connected to the yellow chakra point
along the back/solar plexis(power chakra point).
It actually works when you are playing with any character
i like the back tingle. cuz its kinda stupid to have everyone have trauma and form the tory drama, its not uncommon for artists to reuse older poses and stuff.
Awesome vid 🔥
El Hermano vs El Grande Padre lesgooooo
27:34 fun fact: in the italian version till the broly movie vegito is called vegeku
Arale is pronounced as ARA-LAY
44:45 i think the end of gt entry might be talking about the thoery that Goku is dead at the end of gt

Modest Mouse to the Shins, hit that nostalgia bone 😌
I think that the final bout motion controls were from a Event. I can’t remember which one but it shows a guy with the costume, like Goku using this like hand device.
Wasn't expecting Paper Mario music in the video, but it's a welcome surprise.
Some of my favorite OSTs are from that series :-D
10:47 Let's just say that it's a UNIVERSE 6 ONLY thing, since NOONE in Universe 7 ever mentioned nor used such to transform

8:19 - Big Green dub was an English Dub dubbed by a French company (AB Groupe) - it’d be a little weird for a UK dub to have terrible English 😅
(Though tbf, the French speak English really well, so it’s still odd…)
Honestly I’ve never liked the first part of the story where goku was a child, it’s probably because it’s the last dragon ball series I’ve watched and GT was the first, I’m crazy ik
