    Your recipe is very good. Guyanese people make the best phoulrie. Instead of so much flour, I add grind dhall to the fresh mixture and I get a lot of compliments on the flavor

    Hi Matthew thankyou for sharing for recipes. Yep I remember making this pholourie in Trinidad with my grand mother. She made them the same way like this. grinding the soak dhal on the Sil and lorha. I used to help her sometimes. But I made more of a mess of it. Lol. Yes you are correct they did not add flour or b powder. She did it the old ways , she did not put any baking powder or flour in it.

      Thank you for watching. I am not sure why people started adding curry powder, but it isn't a traditional ingredient for pholourie in our family.

    Yeah my mom use to make it with no flour then later we start to do half flour and half dall mixture or dall flour with baking powder I also know some people only use flour and yeast and clour

    Instead of regular flour, Rice flour is an option. Makes it crunchier.

    This is a good recipe but I think most ppl are used to the flour polhourie. It's cheaper to make so most school canteens sell those. I didn't really enjoy this one as much because of the texture but the flavors were on point. Thanks.

      You can definitely do that too. I've done it both ways, I just did it this way for the sake of showing the ingredients in the video

      The traditional Guyanese pholourie made with fresh dhal doesn't have yeast. Some versions do. This one isn't meant to be super fluffy
