How often does it go bad with an update? I heard that greedy Sony is trying to disable these ever so often in PS4 updates, but the Brook makes an update for it and it works afterwards.
I hope that you can help me. I have a Logitech G27 Steering wheel and a Brook Super Converter A1. I've been trying to install the latest firmware and connecting my steering wheel to my PS4. Downloading and installing the firmware is pretty easy, but once we connected the steering wheel to the converter to the PS4, the wheel itself doesn't work. The buttons on the shift stick works, and even the pedals, but the steering wheel doesn't. Do you know any issues like this or do you happen to know any resolution to this problem? Thanks in advance!
Wow, that's a new one. My first thought was checking the connections of the cables to the wheel itself to make sure they're all seated firmly. Here are some other questions I have: Did the wheel work on a PS3? Do you still have a PS3 around to ensure the wheel is working? Does the wheel perform its calibration spin when you hook it to the PS4 and power it up? Do the small LED lights on the wheel light up at all? You said the shifter works - how about the paddle shifters? The fact that the shifters and pedals work but wheel itself doesn't makes me think there is an internal issue with your wheel. Let me know how this goes!
hey. does the clutch pedal work? I read an amazon review saying that it wont work and a few people had same issue. idk if they doing something wrong or it is true?
The clutch pedal definitely works in GT7 - the game even gives a lovely, spine-contracting whining buzz sound of the gears grinding. Not that I missed any gear changes lately. Nosir. Notme. Notevar.
Not a dumb question. I mapped mine with a PS3 controller, but others who have commented said they didn't need it. So to answer your not-dumb question with a dumb answer: yes and no.
Yes. In fact, you can have them running concurrently: I use the controller to navigate more quickly through the menus but then set it aside during driving.
Great tutorial and review but I have a few questions, first of all do I *need* a PS3 controler in order to make this work? Will it not work with a PS4 one? And secondly does the external hard-drive on the secondary port serve any function to this?
I'm not sure what you mean by needing a PS3 controller, sorry. If you mean having the wheel I'm using (which was for the PS3 but not compatible with the PS4), that's the reason I bought this adapter. If you already have a wheel that is PS4 compatible, there is no need for this adapter (and I'm jealous of you!) Please clarify if I did not answer your question and I will confuse the subject further. As for the external hard drive, that has no bearing on this adapter; I have it for storage as my PS4 is the one with the smaller capacity internal drive and I was running out of space.
@@ThePurpleguy123 I just re-watched the video and understand your question now. Sorry, but I do not know if a PS3 controller is required or not. I didn't even think about the possibility of not having the previous gen console (poor assumption of an old guy on my part). But I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you will need a PS3 controller for that initial mapping - but only that one time. I've never connected the old controller since (hence my forgetting about it).
Hi, how is the force feedback effect holding up? I see the wheel is 1-1 inputs which is nice, and the clutch and stick is a big plus. Concerned that force feedback feels funky. How is it? Thanks so much for making this video!
I find the force feedback to be pretty identical to my settings on the PS3. I don't have it cranked up too high (I think at a "4") because at higher settings it actually causes my stand to tilt and tip instead! Plus, higher FF settings can lead to faster motor burnout and I don't want to have to fork over the coin to buy another wheel until it's on the PS5.
Good morning friend, you have to update the steering wheel firmware. In my case, driver force GT in Ps4, the game V-Rally 4 does not recognize the wheel already updated to the latest version.
Could you tell me how to update the firmware? Do I have to plug it in a PC? And if yes, where do I find the update? It would be so helpful if you could answer. My das and I are quite desperate ...
@@velocity1537 I'm not sure what you mean by "strength". As in the intensity of the force-feedback? You CAN adjust it as normal in-game. And there is no difference in intensity (which is what I am guessing you mean by strenght, yes?)

You got button mapping to work? You're ahead of me! I'm glad it works for you; it sounds pretty hit-or-miss for a lot of people. And as for a PS5? If a person has the coin for one of those then they should have the coin for a new wheel made for that hardware (that's my opinion)! :)

Hmm. Perhaps check settings on your ps4 somewhere to see if you have it automatically load your profile instead of the PS Button Page? Or... plug the converter in and hit the PS button on your ps3 controller?
I don't know, but cannot see why it WOULDN'T work on a Pro. The operating system on the Pro is identical, and this is a software mapping device. My understanding is that it was mainly the cooling systems and a few other internals that differentiates between the Pro and other ps4's.

How and will it work in my case - what is the proceedure if you know for the initial run with wireless controller? Or I can put a USB cable in the wireless controller similar to the charging cable, but 2x USB ends and do it as is shown in the vid?
I'm not sure I understand your issue. Does your PS4 not have any usb ports to plug the controllers in to? That is where I plug the wheel in after unplugging the wireless controller's cable.
I just got mine yesterday everything works except for the force feedback. Is ridiculously strong on every game I played despite I turned the in-game ffb setting to 0 or almost 0.
@@PauloSilva-wh1wy well upon further investigation is the centering spring force, not the force feedback. Basically is the force that adjust the wheel to the center, unfortunately all the games I currently own don't have the option to turn it off on the ps4. One option to disable this is to unplug the wheel from electric outlet after calibration and keeping the usb in, but downside to this solution is you won't get any force feedback or centering force, and it just becomes a loose wheel.

You won't break it if you pull the converter out (even though it says "DO NOT..."). My suggestion is to just start all over if it drags on like that: delete the software files from your laptop, re-download, try again.

Hello, I connected my driving force gt with this converter to my PS5 and gt sport is running for about 10 mins. After that the connection breaks down. Is there any solution for this issue?
Yes: send me your PS5! Ok, I'm kidding. Sorry, but this converter was designed for working between the 3 and 4, not the 5. The firmware sourcecode on the 5 is dramatically different in structure than the goat rodeo that drove the 4 (this is a major reason the 5 is so much faster). Because of that different architecture I doubt it will work at all on a PS5 - but definitely let me know if you do get it to work!

Since both the G27 and Driving Force GT are compatible with this adapter and in the description you confirmed your G27 works with GT7, that means the Driving Force GT should work with the game as well on a PS4?
I can only speak to the G27 working since that is the only wheel I own. Sorry. But logic would dictate that if one works, the other should as well! My opinion is to take the $30 gamble and buy the converter to see if it works with your old wheel - it's cheaper than $400 for a new wheel!
You'll have to give more information if folks following this are to help. What didn't work? What did you try? How far did you get in the process? etc. Sorry it's not working currently.
Not sure I understand your question. Do you mean can you use a PS3 controller via this converter? If that's the question - I don't know the answer. I find the PS3 controller far less comfortable than the 4, so I don't know why you'd want to do that anyway. Sorry.

What do you buttons on the side do also can you do the thing with p3 contoller on a different ps4 then youll use with the wheele
I haven't been able to really get the side buttons that are on the wheel's "spokes". I'd love to get them to work, but I've been using it for so long now without, I can't be bothered!
Do the driving force works with the adaptator ? I have the impression that your wheel does not move ?
It works absolutely fine. I simply have the feedback turned down in the video. Trust me - turn it up and your thumbs will cramp!
Nosir. Notme. Notevar.
do you need to map it with a ps3 controller? That may be a dumb question
Not a dumb question. I mapped mine with a PS3 controller, but others who have commented said they didn't need it. So to answer your not-dumb question with a dumb answer: yes and no.
Does the clutch work?
Yes. Go to the 5:50 mark and you'll see.
Does this work for the crew motorfest on ps4?
I do not know; I don't have that game. Sorry.
After everything is programmed and working, if you unplug the converter the PS4 controllers still work normally right??
Yes. In fact, you can have them running concurrently: I use the controller to navigate more quickly through the menus but then set it aside during driving.
thank you brother works a treat
Will it work from xbox one to ps4? Because i have the logitech g920 and would like to play on the ps4😬
Honestly, I do not know as I do no have that "problem" (read: wish I had that wheel!) I suggest checking their website.
@@LV2PLA on the little segment at 2:40 you've plugged a PS3 controller to the adapter
@@LV2PLA have you never tried to do these steps but using a PS4 controller instead to see if it works?
Negative. It's a "Set it and forget it" type of device.
@@LV2PLA Thanks again for your video! I've been playing GT Sport like mad!

Yeah it works great on the crew 2
Good morning friend, you have to update the steering wheel firmware. In my case, driver force GT in Ps4, the game V-Rally 4 does not recognize the wheel already updated to the latest version.
Could you tell me how to update the firmware? Do I have to plug it in a PC? And if yes, where do I find the update?
It would be so helpful if you could answer. My das and I are quite desperate ...
@LV2PLA Do you get force feedback using this adapter?
Indeed, yes - and on a 1-to-1 ratio (keep it at 1 and it's soft, crank it to 10 and it'll dislocate your thumbs).
@@LV2PLAis there a way to adjust the strength of this in any way? Just think it would be fun testing out the different strengths.
@@velocity1537 I'm not sure what you mean by "strength". As in the intensity of the force-feedback? You CAN adjust it as normal in-game. And there is no difference in intensity (which is what I am guessing you mean by strenght, yes?)
I just wanna say thank you so much for this vid, I though this adapter was a dud at first but holy shit, everything works perfectly I can even adjust the force feed back and use button mapping, thank you so much for showing me how to use this, the wheel I’m using is a driving force gt wheel and it’s worked flawlessly with every game I’ve tried, the only thing I did differently was I just plugged in my wheel straight away with out using a ps3 controler and it worked perfectly I don’t know if this is because the wheel I am using is directly for ps3 and I don’t know if it will work with older wheels, I’m on a ps4 no idea if this will work for ps5
You got button mapping to work? You're ahead of me! I'm glad it works for you; it sounds pretty hit-or-miss for a lot of people. And as for a PS5? If a person has the coin for one of those then they should have the coin for a new wheel made for that hardware (that's my opinion)! :)

Hi. Let's say I updated Brook converter with steering wheel firmware, and now I want to play some games with PS3 controller. Do I need to install regular firmware now, because one installed is for the steering wheel?!
And what is the tournament firmware if you know? Thanks
I do not think you'd need to reinstall anything since it's mapping off of a PS3 controller in the first place. Not sure what you mean by "tournament" firmware, sorry.

Hmm. Perhaps check settings on your ps4 somewhere to see if you have it automatically load your profile instead of the PS Button Page? Or... plug the converter in and hit the PS button on your ps3 controller?

Absolutely. In the video I wanted to demonstrate that even the shifter works, but I guess I neglected to say that it's not necessary.

Giotek fr-1 freedom wheel
Give it a try, I guess. I cannot find anything saying it does nor does not work.
I was wondering if it is compatible with ps4 pro if not is there any that is?
I don't know, but cannot see why it WOULDN'T work on a Pro. The operating system on the Pro is identical, and this is a software mapping device. My understanding is that it was mainly the cooling systems and a few other internals that differentiates between the Pro and other ps4's.

do you have to use PS3 controller for the setup?
Some people have gotten it to work without. I used mine because that's what the instructions told me to do.

Does it charge the PS3 controller from the PS4?
Sorry for maybe the dump question, but I got a PS4 as a gift with one wireless controller, so cannot really calibrate by plugging in the usb controller first.
@@LV2PLA , was not aware that can put cable to the otherwise wireless remote to perform this task. Now is clear, thanks.

Oui. Vous pouvez voir que cela fonctionne.

Same here... Already contacted Brook but with no vail... Same response "Game does not support G29" when clearly all ps4 racing games support the G29

1st thought : verify you are hitting the correctly mapped button (the website has mapping diagrams for each type of wheel). I assume you are but who knows! 2nd: can you turn the PS4 on using the wheel itself, or do you have to turn it on using the standard PS4 controller? 3rd: perhaps try to download the driver from the website again? Good afternoon and merry Christmas!
