Hey great video! Just a few notes about my experience. Windows 10 auto-downloaded the drivers for me (yay!). So installing drivers were unnecessary. The program did NOT run the first time. this is because it needed to do COM registration more than likely. In order to do the registration it needs to run as administrator (right click the executable... run as administrator...). After the first time running as administrator it no longer needs it and can run normally (like i said only for the initial COM registration probably). The COM port would not let me open the first time. This is because the auto downloaded windows 10 driver set the baud rate to 9600, but the baud communication needs to be at 115k. This full combination finally got me up and running.
PatchBOTS Go to the Device manager, find the usb com port you want to change, click on it to open the properties page, click on the port settings tab and there you are.
hey thanks very much for your help. But I did everything you said ( I was getting so excited when I changed the baud rate to 115 lol ) but it didn't work. My com port wont open. Any ideas??

its really simple u need to select the type of switch and turn it off or on. after that u can add servos or anytype of things, basically there are 10 channels in that 4 channels are for joysticks, another 3 for basic on/off switch one for 3 control switch and last two are for adjustable type switches. what this adjustable type switches do is adjust to the specific level of their position like example servos. for 360 degree servos 3 way switch can be used to rotate in clockwise and anticlockwise direction. i hope u understood what i meant

after closing the port in the program and disconnecting i restarted the radio saw it was updated.
Good! Glad it worked out okay!
It worked great...thanks. 🍺🍺 BUT all my models and setting were wiped off the radio. I had to rebind 7 quads and a bunch had heat shrunk wrapped receivers that needed removal to rebind. 😭😭😭🤦♂️ But still worth the trouble. Maybe there is a way to save the settings but it wiped mine.
Hi, execuse me, but can I change my FS-i6s firmware to FS-i6x firmware. I have a FlySky FS-i6s transmitter, but I do not fly quadrocopters. I fly with sailplanes. Thanks!
I haven't tried yet, but I don't think it's possible since the i6S is a touchscreen and the i6X is not.
@@RCwithAdam1 Yes, I think that too, but it would be good if they had been changeable.
frustrating, none of this works. i downloaded the cp210x, that installed ok, the other polo thing wouldn't install, came with an error message saying device manager cant read it or something. downloaded the mod pack, after couple of restarts eventually got it to launch but it couldn't find my transmitter anyway. in the device menu is is listed as flysky transmitter in update mode but doesn't have a com channel. i tried every channel on the mod pack but none would connect
Thanks! worked like a charm! but one thing - the program didn't start on windows 10 until run as an administrator
hi, What was the firmware version in the transmitter before updating? mine is 2.0 now 1-Feb-2018. and i can't update it. Whatever I did I could not connect to the computer.
@@ayhannkaraca I think I had the same version. I would check cable Driver and make sure the port number is correct in your case
Could I flash the fsi6x forward instead
I made this software update. But the PPM at the port on the backside of the radio still provides just 6 channels. Is there a way to get a 10 channel PPM signal?
Hi! Great video. I have a qustion and you may can help me...I hope... I have the exact same FS-i6 BUT it came in chinese language... Last version says "2.0 19-jun-2019".. How can i change to english lenguage?????
How do I get this to work for ibus
Hey Adam, I fallowed the steps as well as possible, but the Firmware Version Number never shows up. What's wrong?
hey
I have that same problem. could you get it done?
@@ayhannkaraca I just bought a new data cable and works great now! Just make sure you don't mess with the cable and use it just the way it comes.

Thank you. What was your transmitter firmware before updating? mine is 2.0 now 1-Feb-2018. Do you think the 2016 update creates a problem?
My firmware was FLY SKY FS-I6 1.1 (25-NOV-2014), and is now FlyPlus Beta (20/01/16). I don't think there's a problem now, but I have noticed a couple features like mixing a little more difficult. It mite just be my imagination though.

anyone know what those combo aux channel are for that he was talking about? also, has FLYSKY updated the firmware to include FLAPS settings, there is no FLAPS settings and it's extremely disappointing. All Specktrum radios have it and probably Futaba, but why not FLYSKY, this is a good unit and i just can't figured out why they don't do a small bit of programming and fix it for FLAPS???
Hi Adam, i successfully upgraded the firmware to the 10ch firmware in your video. Thank you for all the infos 👍My question is, if I bind to the 10ch fs-ia10b receiver and enable PPM output, will it have at least 8ch on the PPM output?
Hey, is there any way to connect that controller to FVP simulator on PC?
buy a simulator cable from banggood. It is cheap 10-20 dollars. Beware that simulator and data line cables are different.
Anyone had an issue that shows the USB to UART bridge but instead of a com port number it says driver unavailable?
Sou brasileiro, precisava de um vídeo atual sobre esse assunto e sua dica de site para o drive FTDI foi a melhor, foi o único que funcionou corretamente para fazer a leitura da porta e terminar a atualização..
Muito obrigado!!
hi. once the update to 10ch is done, can i still use my 6channel receiver (like the iA6)? or do i need the 10ch receive (iA10)?
Worked! Nice and easy. Thank you
Hi i have fallow this step which its all great but for some reason my pc cant identify my transmitter???
My transmitter is flysky fsi6x
hi adam, I have just recently purchased the fs-i6x but the default is only 6 channel, is this mod applicable my transmitter? thanks for your help in advance
Can i use it in my phone s20 plus? Thanks
i have prob to connection the usb ...im using window 8...not appear the usb port com...can teach me how to make it
Excellent all up and running. Easy 👍
I just downloaded the file to upgrade the firmware but it cant be open. Please tell me the solution.
Just upgraded - still works in 2023!
Thanks for the update!
Hi! Thanks for the tutorial! Can you make a video showing how to use those extra channels using fsia6b receiver?
its really simple u need to select the type of switch and turn it off or on. after that u can add servos or anytype of things, basically there are 10 channels in that 4 channels are for joysticks, another 3 for basic on/off switch one for 3 control switch and last two are for adjustable type switches. what this adjustable type switches do is adjust to the specific level of their position like example servos. for 360 degree servos 3 way switch can be used to rotate in clockwise and anticlockwise direction.
i hope u understood what i meant
Nice explanation.
Will my settings be deleted if I flash this firmware?
Yes it will
Will this procedure work on WIN-7?
I don't know, but it's worth a shot.
That cable DOES NOT COME with the purchase. Not with mine. I'll just by the 10 channel model.
Successfully weme your device has 10 channels! thanks! BUT how to put an end point on channels like (7,8,9,10) it's difficult in the menu (end points) I don't have the channels 7,8,9,10! PLEASE HELP ME
Hi Adam been watching your videos and just got my flysky data cable today do I loose all my models that I’ve put in ie Vosper mtb and Dragonforce 65 will it set the remote as if you’ve just got it out of box and heard a few people have lost channels is this worth doing as I need the extra aux channels to run lights on Vosper but heard the aux channels won’t work till I upgrade is this correct many thanks chris from Cumbria
Hi, Chris. Yes, it will reset ALL settings and ERASE all model profiles.
Thanks Adam after searching for the drivers for the data cable and a bit of messing on computer all complete and no problems on my end now have 10 channels thanks for your video on how to download everything as I would of been lost
I install the drivers, seems ok, but I cannot find them in settings even after a reboot.... what now ? any ideas? win10
ok the install had worked, the trick was one of my usb ports did not have enough power or something... tried a different port and it was detected automatically and then the USB Bridge showed up in Devices. Thanks much for posting this video :)
i have a problem where my drone doesnt want to bind to my flysky receiver please help i updated the firmware on the drone and it used to blink to bind but not anymore.
Hi. Sorry to hear that. What receiver are you using? and are you going through the standard binding process? I've noticed that with some receivers, the blinking or screen prompts may be different.
@@RCwithAdam1 it used to work but I updated my firmware and it says my drone is binded but it’s not. The receiver I use is the flysky FS-I6
Do the dials come with center point?
Unfortunately, no, there is no indent to mark Center.
My controller arrived in Chinese. Does anybody know how to change it to English?
Hi! You probably have to change the firmware.
do you know how to upgrade the firmware which will fix the bugs in the software? but also keep the 10 channel capability? or is it either / or .... in other words, get the 10 channel capability but live with the bugs that cause latency in the radio transmission signals
Thank you brother ....!! It works.....
Huzzah! 😁
When i look at device manager under bluetooth and other devices (my tx is listed here) it says KMODEL simulator phoenix rc controler, do i need a diffrent cable?
ja, looks like you got the simulator/gaming cabel and not the programming cable.....
Adam great videos. I have the i6x and updated for ware and now I'm getting an err. 1.10 on bottom of transmitter and can't connect to receiver.tried flashing previous version and it says can't downgrade. Any ideas?
Dang that sucks. I have not gotten that error before. Maybe try flashing to the new firmware again?
it doesnt say COM anywhere
but the problem is how to use those 4 channels from ia6b reciever
i followed the steps and installed everything, when i plug in the pc it doesnt show port, it shows up as PPM , in Device manager in the port tab i only shows 1 port but it says communication port, i checked my controller and its v2.0, i dont remember if i updated my controller before.
Hello, did you fixed the problem? I have the Same Problem, that it shows up as PPM... Let me please know
I have the Jamara FCX-6 Transmitter which is basically the same handset as the Flysky Fsi6. Can I flash my handset with the Flysky firmware to update it to 10 channels?
I don't know. But if you try it, let us know how it goes!
@@RCwithAdam1 if I tried, is there a chance I could "brick" the TX?

Question? I have an i6x, it still could use firmware update to get timer/ alarm etc... I am wondering if you do firmware update will you lose all the saved aircraft and settings that you programmed in?
Yes, you will lose everything. Honestly, I haven't figured out how to access the timer/alarm feature.
Thank you if you do please let me know. Maybe it’s already on there in the i6x model but I can’t find it either. I guess a stop watch on phone is just as good! Lol
Hello sir...is it still highly recommend to buy FS-i6?
It's not the best choice anymore. If possible, I would recommend the Radiomaster Pocket transmitter.
Hey i am not able to open the downloaded file from github for some reason. like...after downloading it from github, I try to open it, but their is no response and nothing shows up.
What operating system are you on? Windows? It won't work on a mac.
@@RCwithAdam1 Lol it worked once I ran it as an administrator for some reason xD. I'm on windows btw. Amazing video man !!!
does this still work?
I never could get it to work. Installed the drivers and the program software but never got it to show up in the devices. Tried it on windows 7 and 10 both. But works fine as a game controller for flight sims. Just wont show up in the devices and no c2102 shown at all
It's very strange--this process seems to be hit and miss. For some people it works perfectly. Sorry it's not working for you. 😕
Can you update an FS-i6 with FS-i6X firmware?
I don't know, but I can find out!
@@RCwithAdam1 If the hardware is the same then it might work. It would be great too turn an old FS-i6 into the FS-i6X.
