I'm already an old sack. But in old age you have to take special care to provide yourself with all the important nutrients. This recipe does.
Every year we go to a seven fishes Christmas Eve dinner which is a huge tradition here in Italy (even for a Jewish guy like me, LOL), Bacala (salted cod) is always the basis for at least one of the dishes and a stew just like yours is my usual contribution. It's always a big hit, probably because it is one of the first dishes served when everyone is ravenous! Spain has wonderful bacalao (salted cod) too and I'd you suggest using it instead of hake for a delicious change of pace. Great dish! Thanks.

Absolutely delicious! I followed the recipe exactly except used cod for the fish. I am eating the leftovers from yesterday and I think it is even better today. The only 2 comments I have is that it took me much longer than 5 minutes prep, and it was more like 3 to 4 servings (unless you have large servings). Not only is this recipe amazing, but it looks fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
So - yesterday it was time: I cooked this dish. It's really wonderful and I can only encourage everyone to try it out. I made a small change to the original recipe: I added an additional 1g of saffron. This gives a really unique aroma. Thank you for the nice recipe!
Try putting the garlic cloves in a little warm tap water for just a minute or so, then peel them. The skin slides right off and your fingers don't stink.

I cook this all the time, however, I never get to add the wine, I admit. I drink it! Use some lemon instead, and add lemon zest to the stew at the end. You can also use chicken instead of seafood! To thicken the stew, add some corn starch in the last five minutes.
OMG! I enjoy your receipts so much! It’s getting colder in in New Jersey and this stew hits the spot. I couldn’t find the hake fish so, I used cod instead. Could you post a recipe of Spanish fish and seafood soup? I had it when I travelled to Spain and it was delicious.! Can’t find any recipes online that would be similar to what I had in Spain….

Not all Mediterranean countries use the same recipes, when someone states "Mediterranean cuisine" it means they share a lot of core ingredients but not necessarily recipes. There is no traditionally Mediterranean recipes, the traditional part equates to the recipe owner of a specific country not the group itself.

Just leave the shrimp out and add an equivalent amount of any seafood you can eat. It won't be exactly the same but it will be good.
