  • So can two mechanically hadicapped guys get an old 1963 Ford 8100 Powermaster tractor started after sitting for over 20 years in a barn? Well, you are gonna just have to watch this video and find out. My son-in-law Nick approached me a while back and told me he had an old tractor he would like to start working on and restoring, and asked if we would like to come along and share it with all of you. I took the liberty of saying yes for all of us, and off we went to a gorgeous 100 acre farm that belongs to Nick and his family. Now I'm not gonna lie, neither one of us are great at working on things, but we wanted to have a fun project to tinker on, and see if we couldn't get his grandpa's old tractor back to running, and back to work on the farm. I have been loving watching the "will it start" videos myself, so I was very excited to have a project like this on my own. And I love the challenge and opportunity to learn how this old equipment ticks, and to expand my mechanical knowledge. And, it makes for some good bonding time between Nick and myself, and gives him a break from my oldest daughter for a little while. Will it start, I'm not sure. But we are going to give it our all and see what we can do with it. I hope you all enjoy this first of many video's on this old tractor, and hope you will come along with us for the entire journey. I appreciate each and every one of you, and truly hope you are having a great day. We will see you on the next episode, where I think we have proven by now it's untelling what we will be doing next

That’s a 1957-62 Ford 851 or 861. Look on the flat spot by the starter for serial number and model.

I have an 801 Ford have had it for 45 years. Run perfect. Has never spent a night outside. The first thing you want to do is throw those point’s away and put electronic ignition in it. You will never have to touch it again .

So are you guys not finishing the ford tractor. I saw 2 videos and that was it. I own an old ford tractor 12 v get a electronic ignition and rebuild carb then it will crank up

Just haven’t been able to get our schedules to line up to get back out there. I suspect a carb rebuild is the next step though if we can ever get back to it

😂😂😂😂. Weve made a few ford cracks over the past few trips down there. I definitely can’t attest to any brand of tractor though. I have zero experience in that category, but this one seems to have been hard working and still in good shape.

Awesome! Can't beat the old equipment like that. My uncle(may he rest in peace) was a firm believer in the old Ford 9N tractors and old Massy Ferguson farm tractors.

This thing seems to want to run, but we aren’t there yet. And it sounds like Nicks family has definitely gotten their money’s worth out of this old tractor. After looking at it, there isn’t too much bailing wire holding it together, so it must have been pretty reliable….lol
