    I love the fact that you register the stuff you sell. That is something that many people don't do and many people toss out the paperwork as soon as they get home. All places should do this. Keep on bringing these awesome videos!

    Working on a Hilti concrete saw today. Got it all buttoned up and was about to pull the starter rope and there it was. Laying on the bench, a random screw. Doubt and the where did that go had me tear it back apart. Coworker walks over and says, "Did a screw fly over here?". He bought lunch after I chased him out the door swinging a chainsaw chain at his head. Never a dull moment where I work.

    Silicone spray is your friend to remove and install plug wire boots and plug wire covers. It will also help with the plug terminal.

    I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

    I picked up an Echo blower that was set out beside the road with trash. Like the backpack blower, it would run about 10 minutes and die. Then it would not start again until it was completely cool. I put a new ignition module (coil) on it and it runs great. Watching your videos has given me more confidence in attempting repairs for myself. Thanks for sharing your videos.

    I wish every woman was as good as you. You are like the complete opposite of over 50+ ladies I deal with on a daily basis. For whatever reason they don’t want to get their hands dirty and deal with service/maintenance and rely on their husbands/bf to do everything for them. Even then their men usually suck at fixing things most of the time. It’s very refreshing and gives me hope to see such a talented young lady do this line of work!!

    Usually in this type failure, there's a very small break either in an internal winding or plug wire. When the coil heats, the break expands thus no spark. Cool down and the break closes. Nice video Bre.

    Thank you - I did not know if I had registered the Echo PB-580T purchased from Home Depot by my wife as a Christmas present many years ago. The unit worked for years but I would have to power it back to keep it running. After the new ignition module (purchased off brand on Amazon with all the parts you had to reuse) the unit worked great for 15 minutes. Hopefully will run again once I let it cool off. Great instructional video. 😃😃😃😃😃

      With the added bonus that it is rubber-safe which ordinary petroleum based greases are not. You can also use synthetic brake grease as it is dielectric grease under disguise but sold dirt cheap. Regards !

    To remove boot, I used to use a steel pick. Slide it down between the high tension lead and the boot. Now you can pry back the boot from the lead wire, and drop in a drop of oil. Then, rotate the pick around the high tension lead to spread the oil. Now the boot will be much easier to pull off and less chance of damaging the connector. I learnt this procedure in a Stihl update seminar.

    I have had great luck using silicon dialectic compound to lube the inside of the insulating tubing.
    Hint: On the spark plug boots, put the silicon compound in a syringe and squirt it inside the easy way. I got some big ones from my local Dollar Tree, but feed stores and vets carry them also. I do grind off the sharp point on the syringe needle, as then I can't poke myself or poke through insulation. Chemtronics Z5 heatsink compound also works, but is spendy. One can also add a small piece of tubing on the syringe to get lube into tight places. I keep my dialectic heatsink compound for transistors in a syringe, as the tubes are prone to splitting too.

    Thank you for replying to my Amzoil Sabre post. I have tried the recommended ratio of 50//1 however, the machine smoked more, with more carbon build up. Were you aware that most 2 cycle non synthetic oils have "fillers"non lubing chemicals in them that require a higher ratio of oil to gas in them? Please consider checking out the Lubrology reports. I observed this by checking out the exhaust screen and eventually eliminated the exhaust screen.. No, I am not a sponsor, but found what works for me at less cost. I appreciate your videros' time and info.

    To get the protective cover on the spark plug wire, find a metal rod that slides into the cover and straightens out the cover, use lube and slide the wire in while removing the rod.
    Modify a pair of pliers to hold the spring wire and the plug wire to squeeze the 2 together.

    I would suggest using Dielectric grease at least for the ease of sliding the boot on as it is conductive where regular lube can insulate the electrical connection and is great to use with any electrical connection as it keeps moisture from corroding the connection. Great videos enjoy them all.
    Happy Thanksgiving.

    • @jeremiahlf
      @jeremiahlf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Many people seem to think dielectric grease is conductive. It says right on the tube that it is actually not conductive at all.

    • @bobmartin9518
      @bobmartin9518 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@jeremiahlf you are correct. Dielectric means it does not conduct the flow of electricity. Most are silicone based. They protect electrical connectors from corrosion, moisture, and dirt and are a lubricant. You are correct. I stand corrected

    Start east no issues.

    Would die after hot then get boat towed back to marina then it would start ... 😂
    Out off Bahamas one mercury would not restart after shut down heat soak. No one to help us .
    I removed cover and poured ice cold water on ignition electronics and it started.
    Went back with cover off for air cooling..
    CDI charge coil under flywheel get hot 🔥
    Maybe drill holes in cover to let air cool coil..

    @ricktaylor3748 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Fire : If you have light yellowish fire, your engine "might:" start. You need brilliant blue spark for your engine to run right. Usually, a coil is like a light bulb, either it works or it don't.
    I disagree with any sparks is good spark. If your spark is jumping around from the edge of the plug to the electrode. That means the plug is fouled. The spark needs to be consistent.
    I had a Craftsman 6 hp. chainsaw, it would start all day long at home. When I took it up in the mountains, it wouldn't hit a lick. It would cut through ginormous logs like crazy.
    I ended up beating it to death with my 14 pound sledge hammer. I now have all Husqvarna saws. I have an XP 262, I bought new in 1993, it's never been to the repair shop.
    It still has the original NGK plug, I run 110 octane Sunoco gas with Mobile 1 synthetic 2 stroke oil. 35:1 mixing ratio, I gap my plugs at 28 on the feeler gauge. Btw, you're very attractive.😘

    Another Thank YOu!!! Followed your vid- and pretty much replaced - ignition coil- plug and carb- one suggestion- new carbs are not exactly to the dimensions of OEM - so you might have to get out a rasp and shave off a little of the plastic on the lower left part of the block- but otherwise- runs like new- and save me a lot of time while simultaneously getting a couple more hole punches on my “man card”-
    Oh- and don’t mess with the boot- just clip it and splice it into the original - with some of the great heat shrink solder connectors!!

    I was just working on a blower at work other day. First thought what would Chickanic do? Started with fuel, straight gas 🤯, scratch piston, maybe, compression ok, spark has it. Mechanic at work said plug maybe fouled thou it has spark. Tried to grab another from the pile of broken machines.
    It would pop off. Was wondering about coil now I find this video.

    My SRM230 needed a new coil after about 13 years of use. I maintain my equipment and start it once in the middle of winter usually, and put it away with Stabil along with mixing Stabil in anyway as soon as I buy the 93 Octane fuel. It was completely dead though, and had only an intermittent 'dull' spark. That was a fun little repair, but I fixed it perfectly.
