Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie is a 1997 American superhero film directed by David Winning and Shuki Levy and written by Levy and Shell Danielson. A sequel to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, it is the second Power Rangers film. The film stars Johnny Yong Bosch, Nakia Burrise, Steve Cardenas, Jason David Frank, Austin St. John, Catherine Sutherland, Jason Narvy, Paul Schrier, Hilary Shepard Turner, Amy Jo Johnson, and Blake Foster.

Also, Bulk and Skull were absolutely, objectively the best characters between Mighty Morphin' and In Space.
That's 6 years of continuity.
And they have genuine character arcs in that time, even fighting against monsters, with no powers, and leading the population of Angel Grove to do the same.
They're the biggest heroes of this series, honestly.

fun fact: once at a convention, Johnny Yong Bosch said "Turbo was nobody's favorite season" and he even joked about his hair and the minivan. another fact: Johnny Yong Bosch, Jason David Frank and Austin St. John were the only real martial artists in the movie's cast.

I recently watched (more like overheard) a power rangers episode and this is what I got from it.
- Incredibly catchy theme song
- A random villain with no motivation or context wants to take over the world or blow it up
- 6 or 7 teenagers are tasked to stop him
- Some random mecha shit happens
- End credits
I like stuff Sounds like the original "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" TV show to me. At least with the later seasons, they actually do have more growths in story-telling, plots, and character development. Well, most of them do. But with the original MMPR seasons, I mean, sure. Everybody knows about it because yes, it was the first that started all. However, looking back at them, they don't really hold up to this day. They're just there for nostalgia. And that's it.

There was a generation of rangers down the line called "Dino Thunder." In it, Tommy is an archeologist and mentor to the new generation of Rangers. One episode has him fighting against his previous ranger personas to prove himself worth donning the helmet again.
He fights Green ranger, White ranger, and the red Zeo. No mention of Turbo. At. All. Even when creating a continuity of universe the franchise didn't want to include this shit iteration.

I never even knew he was casted in the original power rangers lol. I only know him for all of his VA works. Which they are freaking amazing, Jojo season 1, Bleach, ToraDora. All fairly awesome anime in their own right.

+Skylander dude Well this movie does exist in the Power Rangers universe. Unlike the first movie where it kind of veered off into an alternate timeline and was never referenced in the main show ever again, this movie was the premiere for the Turbo season, so you had to watch this movie in order for the first episode to make sense.

That bit where Critic yeets himself out of the boxing ring is still one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
Especially with the Goofy yell.
Bulk and Skull were the longest running characters and actually became the heart of the show.
And helped the rangers save the earth
Rita being portrayed by Rachel yet voiced by Doug is quite possibly one of the best mockerys of dubs I've ever heard, because Doug isn't even TRYING to match Rachel's lip movements with his line deliveries.
Another Fun Fact: The Maligore costume was used to play Dark Spectre in the Power Rangers In Space series.
So that's why Dark Spectre looks exactly like Maligore

you buy a whole wardrobe composed of colors that match your ranger color just for you to lose your powers, to later get new powers and you may or may not have a new color, so now you have to go out and buy new clothes to with your new color...

The Goofy Holler had me doubled over. Also, Johnny Young Bosch is now a well known voice Actor in anime. For instance, he's the English voice Actor of Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach, Yukio Okumura in Blue Exorcist, and Artemis in Sailor Moon Crystal just to name a few
Not to mention Nero from DMC, Zero in UMVC3, Kiba from Wolf's Rain, Broly in DB Super: Broly, and a ton of other roles. He's awesome in anything he does.

my site Yes because a parent raising a kid around ‘95 would be playing a game that wouldn’t be around for more than ten years. The again, Doug thought in Rock A Doodle that a boy from ‘91 would play the X Box, which wouldn’t be around until 2006.
To go straight nerdy....the biggest problem I had with the movie was that there was no reason to use the Turbo powers. By the end of Zeo, they had become nearly invincible and destroyed/scared away the Machine Empire. The Zeo crystals still existed and nothing prevented them from morphing (you actually see Kat transform when she's falling from the waterfall).
If you want to know more, check out Linkara's videos on Turbo to further explain why the whole series was meant more as a parody when originally made in Japan. It wasn't intended to be taken seriously (how could you take it seriously when one of the TV season's villains cooks all the Turbo rangers in a gigantic pizza crust?).
Well turbo was a super silly sentai and the Americans try to do a lesser silly show and the result was lame, but check power rangers rpm, they use a super silly footage of sentai and manage to do a serious show
A fan theory I heard on why they couldn't use the Zeo powers was that the Zeo crystals had grown so much in power that they became too much for the Rangers to handle. Bear with me, but think about it. You get a sword and its weight keeps doubling. Eventually it's so heavy that it can cleave a grown man in two but is soon so heavy it can't even be lifted. The same thing with powering a radio with wattage greater it can handle. The power of the Zeo crystal grew so much that the morphers would probably fry if morphed for too long.
Awsomeness103 That analogy doesn't exactly work with being able to morph perfectly fine but mere water short-circuits the entire process.
Brandon Roberts Yeah, I wasn't expecting any kind of "real world" explanation. If writers just gave a few lines of dialogue in the film like, "Our Zeo Powers are incapable of penetrating Divatox's monster armor" (They've used that gimmick sooo many times in the show) at least they would have addressed it. But, as is, they pushed it under the rug by essentially having Zordon imply, "I know we have the equivalent of a hydrogen bomb at our disposal, but we're going to put that away so we can drive awesome cars." The cars didn't even really help them on their mission....they drove it on the boat, then drove it to the island. Why couldn't it be flying robots, or submersible vehicles, or hell, even something like the Dragonzord which had no problem walking in water? There was no in-universe explanation; the real-world explanation is, of course, they wanted to use the Sentai footage and sell more toys to kids.

1. Go, Michael Bay! Give the Zords the technical detail and effects of Transformers! But NO outrageous sex symbols, got it?
2. Now, Gareth Evans and Yayan Ruhian! Choreograph and capture the fight scenes with the elegance and intensity of The Raid films! You want superhuman feats like jumping through the air to look real? That's what practical effects and stunt work are for!
3. Here's your chance, Christopher Nolan! Address the backstories and personal lives of the characters, giving them personality, moral dilemmas to confront, depth to how they become friends, convincing relationships, and motivation for working together! Just don't make it grayed out and overly brooding. Just because that worked for Batman doesn't mean it works in everything.
4. Time for you, Joss Whedon! You've done well so far with big budget superhero movies that have complex stories, occasional but excusable plot holes, excellent fan service, action, drama, and humor! This is right up your alley!
5. You're next, Nancy Meyers! As a consistently successful director of films portraying women in varying relatable performances, you can make sure that the yellow and pink Rangers are never under-utilized or stereotyped! Whedon is on the right track with this too, especially with the upcoming Black Widow film, so you two should get along just fine.
6. And now, for our secret weapon. GO GO Steven Spielberg! With your experience in the sci-fi adventure genre, developing everyday characters into extraordinary heroes, and recurring thoughtful humanitarian themes, this movie will surely have that extra heart in addition to its flashiness to make audiences get ever more attached to it and actually think about what they've seen.
Mix the styles and talents of these five film titans together, and what have you got? CINEMAGIC POWER! :D
