It’s part of the Hamildrops, those are different versions of the ones in the musical, all those women were Eliza’s in different companies of Hamilton: Arianna, Shoba and Julia were part of the tours, Lexi was the replacement of Philippa and Rachelle was Eliza in the West End.

@@miriamespinosa534 when Frances came out and the audience realised it was a mashup of I Dreamed A Dream and On My Own.... an actual magical moment I really wish I was there
All of these women have played Eliza in different productions of Hamilton and Lin has talked about how they all bring different emotions and portrayals to the same numbers and how all of them enrich the musical in such a wonderful way. This was the first version written of Burn, deemed too angry for a moment when Eliza's supposed to be heartbroken more than anything else. I find it incredibly satisfying.
"Your enemies whisper so you have to *scream*" even if it was all on the same melody was so powerful and sounded perfect. And then the harmonies sounded beautiful. When i heard it i was taken aback.
"Your enemy whispers so you have to scream" and "And when the time comes, explain to the children the pain and embarrassment you put their mother through" are my favorite lines. I love the way the word "mother" is said.
I mean, the anger is there in the Broadway version but in this one, it’s more pronounced. This one is all about calling him out and throwing his mistakes at him. The Broadway one is more about her being “you broke my heart and announced it to the world, so I’m simply done.” Both are beautiful. But this one just has more power

Lexi is logic and wants to understand Alexanders betrayal. Rachelle is anger and wants to make Alexander feel her pain. Julia is doubt and wants to know what went wrong.
'First Burn' is as it sounds. It's the first version of 'Burn' that Lin wrote, but he scrapped it because it seemed for too angry, vengeful and snappy for Eliza's kind and forgiving character. He decided rather than leave it to be forgotten to re-write it for a group and put it on the 'Hamilton Mixtape' album.
Yesss that's the first draft for Burn! I'm sad it was cut because it has a different edge to it, but now we have this stunning (quite literally) performance so I'm not mad about it hahah
Okay, but it's just great they have five Broadway Elizas singing this together. Phillipa Soo is and always will be my favorite Eliza and favorite voice of the entire cast, but this was amazing.
It’s called first burn because it was actually the first version of the song, but the people writing decided it didn’t fit the character’s personality. I REALLY love this version, I actually sang it with four other people in choir for a performance bc we loved it so much!
It’s his first draft of burn sang by 5 “Elizas” from Broadway, West End (Rachel) and national tours. Rachel Ann was also Gigi both in West End and Broadway before she took over Eliza on West End.
Yes, this was the first version of "Burn," and the ladies singing in this video were playing Eliza on Broadway, West End, and national tours! So much talent!
You’re probably sick of reacting to burn by now, but if you’re not there’s a fantastic version by Izzy McCalla, Bradley Gibson, and Oyoyo Joi at the Pronoun Showdown and that is literally so so amazing!!!
I love Annapantsu's cover of this song too! It's nice hearing it as a single voice, because it's easier to mentally put it in the story to replace 'Burn'
The one you said that sounded like Phillipa is Rachelle Ann who originated Eliza in West End. She probably is the best Eliza right after Phillipa for me coz she brought anger to the character and a whole new take on Eliza as well, I just love how perfect her casting was.
You definitely need to react to “Wait for it” and then “The Room Where it happened” from Hamilton, as they are both so linked to the Aaron Burr character development. His explanation of why is is like he is, and then the turning point for him.
OMG LISTEN TO CONGRATULATIONS it's also a cut song from hamilton, i'm not sure if there's a vid on youtube but i think you can find it on spotify and u can find loads of animatics with it too
React to CONGRATULATIONS!!!! It was cut from the original musical, but it has elements of Satisfied and is absolutely amazing. Renée does a version at Ham 4 Ham, but there's also a somewhat recorded version she did during rehearsals (?).
AHHHHH I had the pleasure of seeing Julia Harriman on the Broadway tour of Hamilton in Atlanta and she KILLED IT. Absolutely crushed in. Then of course she goes on to play Eliza with Lin in Puerto Rico cause she's a BEAST. Rachelle Ann Go is also a queen, not only did she play Eliza in Hamilton, she was also in Miss Saigon AND Fantine in Les Mis. All these ladies are immensely talented.
This is my favorite version of Burn! Though I think that the one in the musical is the best version for the character of Eliza, this one is my personal fave 😊
ai love both versions mostly because I love the rage this one captures but also in the later version the “you have no right..” lines are some of my favourite lyrics.
Anyone, feel free to correct me, but if this is right, I think First Burn is the original song and the one that is sung on stage is the newer version with slightly different lyrics??? Also, Hannah you’re so great! I am just starting out in singing and as someone is shy and scared of people most of the time 😅 your videos make me feel excited about singing! So thanks! Much Love! 😊❤️

i’m pretty late now so you probably already know this but i just LOVE that all of these elizas from different productions of hamilton sang the song. it gives me so much goosebumps 😭❤️
It was so fun watching you react to this one! I'm glad you enjoyed the angrier first draft of this song as much as I did. I'd also love to hear your thoughts on the twin songs "Helpless" and "Satisfied" from Hamilton (they happen one right after the other in the show). The first one gives Eliza's perspective on her romance with Alexander, and then the second one literally rewinds the scene and gives a different perspective from Angelica. It's so interesting to see how the two songs work in tension with each other and I think "Satisfied" is an extraordinary performance from Renee Elise-Goldsberry; the song itself is so challenging in its switches from rapid hip-hop riffs to all-out Broadway belting, plus it has some of the cleverest lyrics and choreography in the show.
Yes First Burn is an earlier version of the song, an if I'm not mistaken all those lovely ladies played Eliza on different tours/ in different companies
I like First Burn than Burn because it shows much more emotions of Eliza and it also shows that she's not so naive than what people think she is. I just love the song and what it's massage is.
Satisfied is my favorite song from the show. The emotion in the actresses/singer's' voice and the power she has throughout is just amazing. Would love a reaction to that. History has it's eye on you is another good one
This was actually the first song I stumbled upon that made me fall head over heels in absolute love with everything Hamilton. And why I found out it’s not even the version in the show…. You should listen to Congratulations! It’s a song that Lin scrapped for Angelica. TH-cam Renee Elise Goldsberry performing it at the Ham4Ham show ❤️
The one you said that sounded like Phillipa is Rachelle Ann who originated Eliza in West End.
I feel like non-stop would be a great reaction since there are a lot of harmonies and people coming together. I love it sm
YES I LOVE THIS SONG SM THANK YOU HANNAH
That line “I see how you look at my sister” is something the real Eliza said to Hamilton
Really?
Wait for real
Wait what?
That’s not true :/
Wooooow I didn’t know that
Every single woman played Eliza in their regional and international shows. Every single one.
Ugh this song gives me chills every time i listen to it *chefs kiss*
2:32 there was actually a difference in verses. I love looking between the two lyrics and seeing the differences
This version, their voices always brings me to tears ugh it’s amazing
THIS SONG WAS THE FIRST VERSION OF BURN AND IT IS DIFFERENT THAN WHATS IN THE MUSICAL
OMG LISTEN TO CONGRATULATIONS it's also a cut song from hamilton, i'm not sure if there's a vid on youtube but i think you can find it on spotify and u can find loads of animatics with it too
We love the british editor notes, she's amazing
This song makes me cry so bad sometimes because its beautiful! The story really shines when they sing this..
React to CONGRATULATIONS!!!! It was cut from the original musical, but it has elements of Satisfied and is absolutely amazing. Renée does a version at Ham 4 Ham, but there's also a somewhat recorded version she did during rehearsals (?).
I’ve never heard of this before and I am just floored! I loved it so much. Major goosebumps and made me want to cry. Holy lord they’re amazing!
Now burn is how Eliza portrays her feelings to the world, first burn is her internal female rage that she has to keep hidden
So thanks! Much Love! 😊❤️
You’re correct. Lin didn’t feel like it fit Eliza so he scrapped it
@@shortname24 Thank god I was scared I got it wrong 😅 It is a shame though I feel conflicted bc both are so good
@@micawoodburn9250 yeah I love both of them. I love first burn a little more personally, but I do agree that Burn fits Eliza better 😌
I just recently came across your channel and I am HOOKED!!! I have been binge watching all of your videos lately! Really enjoy your reactions and your education notes!
FYI: On the piano was Alex Lacamoire. He did the arrangements and orchestrations for Hamilton. He's also the one who arranged that 4 Evans video you reacted to.
i’m pretty late now so you probably already know this but i just LOVE that all of these elizas from different productions of hamilton sang the song. it gives me so much goosebumps 😭❤️
I think I fell in love with “British Editor” the most this video
I actually saw Julia Harriman in San Francisco and got her autograph. she was amazing as eliza
OMG, THIS JUST HITS ALL THE BASES. The kids, her sister, and OMG I CAN SEE HOW THIS COULD BE STAGED!!
Her: what else should I listen to from Hamilton?
Me: EVERYTHING!!!!!
You're reaction is so wholesome oml
LOVE THIS SONG!
Thanks for doing this.
Please react to Diana the musical it’s my current obsession!!!
Yes First Burn is an earlier version of the song, an if I'm not mistaken all those lovely ladies played Eliza on different tours/ in different companies
All of these girls actually have played Eliza in Hamilton
I get chills every time I hear this version omg
Also, you should react to the cut song Let It Go from Hamilton.
Holy crap you are at 200k! 1/5th of the way to 1 million!! Congratulations Hannah!!
Please react to superfriends! By Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist!!❤
Oh my god yessssssss
I love that episode of Flash
It’s the best episode in that show!! It’s like a glee reunion!!!
i forgot how freaking amazing that song is
Day 2 of asking for a Bo Burnham reaction! I really like "Art is Dead" and "Sad" but, of course, do whatever you want lol
Love your videos
yes, it was the first version. AND I NEED YOU TO WATCH CONGRATULATIONS FROM HAMILTON.
I like First Burn than Burn because it shows much more emotions of Eliza and it also shows that she's not so naive than what people think she is. I just love the song and what it's massage is.
That "i see how you look at my sister" HURTS!
Satisfied is my favorite song from the show. The emotion in the actresses/singer's' voice and the power she has throughout is just amazing. Would love a reaction to that. History has it's eye on you is another good one
gosh this song gives me chills and makes me cry every time with just how incredible it is oh my goddd
This was actually the first song I stumbled upon that made me fall head over heels in absolute love with everything Hamilton. And why I found out it’s not even the version in the show…. This song gets me in my feels every time! And what a great song to sing in the car! I loved watching you react because it made me re-live, re-feel, re-experience my first time hearing this magic!
I watched it so many times. Chills, goosebumps, and feels. It showed off their voices so well
I loved your facial expressions when Rachelle Ann's sung her first line and suddenly you'd stopped the music. All of them are good. Amazing
Whoah. This was beautiful. Chills, and it like physically made me cry, just so powerful and moving
