- 'Slow Lane' is a surf film that follows big wave surfer Laurie Towner and his family as they travel on a dream road trip exploring the vast Australian coastline in search of waves, good fishing and adventures.
This film produced by needessentials and edited by Ishka Folkwell not only showcases Laurie Towner's surfing but also gives you an in-depth understanding of Laurie as a surfer and father. The film explores the concept of passing on knowledge to the next generation through shared experiences and good times spent together as a family.
Cinematographer Nathan Henshaw's beautiful images capture the stunning landscape of the Australian continent and its wide variety of waves and wildlife as the family make their way from coast to coast. With an original soundtrack featuring Headland, Nick Bampton and Maanyung and additional music by Mick Turner and Musgrave Band, this film is a portrait of a young family on a simple adventure.

I could only wish that all surfers and the rest of humanity would "teach" their children the respect, fun, responsibility, and natures beauty that Laurie Towner and adorable spouse did by taking their children and exposing them to the world without "devices" etc.....I would bet just one of those events, where the family was overlooking an amazing natural scene or having a wildlife experience, would stay within the kids memory for the rest of their lives and instill the importance of respecting the earth and saving natural places into the future.

Surf movie of the year
I thought I'd seen it all , but Ishka has blown it away with this one.! Razor sharp movie with one or two of the best surfers on the planet. Then add the families and giant perfect waves, and Magic happens.
Just the best documentary I've ever seen on our lifestyle 🙌.

All of us who were able to watch Kelly Slater surf from when he was a little grom until now, we are the ones who are truly blessed because I highly doubt there will ever be a man who can keep up that level of surfing has long has the King Kelly Slater has and to win 11 World titles is absolutely baffling I don't have to tell you to keep doing what you love to do because without you in the ocean surfing I don't think you would be around very long thank you Kelly for letting us come on the ride of your life bless you brother

I love how you guys are so loving and caring towards nature. There are certain species of fish that should not be taken out of the water, like the parrot fish for example and there are other fish that are over-populated and need to be fished out. It would be great if we could all learn how to help restore as we dive 😊
