His control went off the rails, he hit a couple of batters, his hair was lathered, and he seemed downright gassed after hitting somewhere around 40 pitches. So I hope he regains his strength before the next game. I'm not sure if he'll pitch again anyway; I gather that the Italy game was to be his final stint on the mound, no matter what the outcome.
Phil Nevin has publicly said that Ohtani will not pitch beyond this game in the WBC, because Ohtani will pitch in the Angels exhibition game on the 24th, then pitch in the season opener on the 30th. It is in the news everywhere in Japan.
He should have stopped after the 4th. Japan has a long list of excellent pitchers.
@@wilburwood8261 That's sounds like what I heard previously. I wish Ohtani and the Japanese team well in the WBC, but I also want to feel that he's not overextending himself and that he can start the regular MLB season feeling his best.
@@surfwriter8461 no point it's a losing season, MISMANAGED TEAM!!! Might as well win a WBC title
Yamamoto is the best pitcher in Japan.
Bravoooo 👏👏👏👏👏💪 JAPAN WILL WIN THIS WORLD BASEBALL ⚾ CLASSIC ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🥇🏆🏆🏆🎇🎆🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎆🎇🎇

@Ubichinon jaja de dónde eres?
Superstar Ohtani is here for his country.
I went to Japan and finally won five games.
I flew to Miami in the U.
If you win two more games, you'll win.
Japan will definitely win the championship.
Because there is Ohtani, the best player in Two Way.
Japanese baseball is off the chain! The way the crowed gets into the game from the 1st inning until the lights are turned off, is the absolute way to enjoy baseball!
I love my team USA but Japan is definitely the team to beat. Sheesh.
Mexico has better pitching, the batting is excellent. Mexico did not come to play in 2023, they came to win.
