- I've been a big fan of Timberwolf blades for a long time but recently tried Highlands Woodworking Woodslicer Blades. Super impressed with this blade. Cut through both a dry piece of oak and wet piece of maple with NO problems. Super fast and super smooth cuts. Highly recommend them.

Just got a bandsaw and was looking for a review like this. Thank you!
Thanks for tuning in. These blades are great!
Very cool video! Learned how to mount the wood here! QUick question, after resawing, and without a drum sander, what would be the best way to sand the sawed side?
I’d run it through my planer or use a belt sander.
Bob, Getting ready to set up my Laguna with a new woodslicer and resaw some green walnut that fell in my woods this winter. Its been 3 weeks is the woodslicer holding up? Still sharp?
Hi Dan. I have used the saw several times and it’s still very sharp.
Did you adjust the fence for drift?
No drift , I have it set up for perfect cuts.
Where did you get the high fence attachment for resawing?
It came with the saw. Thanks for watching.
Hi Bob, That's a fast cut. can you tel me how many KW or horsepower is your bandsaw machine ? and is it mono or 3 phase feeded ? Thx
11/2 HP. 110 volts
What bandsaw are you using?
@@notcharles grizzly 555
One last question, what model is your bandsaw? I noticed you habe extension table near the riser block, any link to buy that? Thanks so much
Hi. It’s a Grizzly GO555 with riser block from them also. I love this bandsaw👍👍
@@BobAmarant thanks for your reply, I habe the same model with riser block, but doesn't have and extra table near the riser block mine only has the table itself, if you get what I mean
@@jaimegenovajr3257 Maybe because I have the GO555"X" version, you'll have to check on their website for current versions. Thanks for the question.
Nice demo Bob. I am really impressed.
Hi nice demo! Does the bandsaw flex with riser block, I just bought a G0555 and installed riser block, some they said it flex if you put 3/4" blade, any thoughts? Thanks for your reply
Thanks for the question. I have not noticed any flex in the saw or blade with the riser block on mine.
@@BobAmarant thanks for your reply, been thinking about getting a 3/4" I also hust ordered a 1/2" at Timberwolf website, now I'm not worry about getting a 3/4" and try it for resawing
Great demo. I really like your re-saving jig. Do you know where I can find plans for that jig?
Thanks for commenting, I just cobbled a couple angles together and screwed them onto the platform. The platform has a strip on the bottom to ride in the miter slot groove.
I use both blades and find out they work equally well. The problem with the Timberwolf is their welds are pretty inconsistent at times
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great demo Bob👍. I use the wood slicer for Resawing white oak for my bent lamination work. Always very happy with the results.
that is not "re"sawing, that is straight up initial sawing, just a little hair splitting but it really is a different situation.
Fair enough.
Nice blade. You make it look effortless.
Thanks 👍 It wasn't me, it was a super sharp new blade! Love it!
Bob, thanks for the review. Which Grizzly
Sorry fat thumbs sent it too soon. Which model bandsaw and what is the motor size?
Larry, it’s a GO555X. Great machine at great cost .
@@BobAmarant i just got new one, i am new to band saw's #1 way cool got a lot to larn.
The demo was great and the cuts were very consistent, what a nice blade for re-sawing. To me it looked like the process might go even smoother and with even control if you were able to rig up an outfeed table. In this way a log of even greater length could be sawn.
Thanks Bob, I agree, it’s on my To Do list . Thanks for watching 👍
Nice review Bob, they seem to cut effortlessly!!
Like fish thru water!
That bark and orange color just under the bark looked like sassafras
one hundred percent sass
Hello,
