Such a cool update!!! I wish there was an update that gave more kinds of enemy types though. Like alien civilizations randomly generated on planets. Civilizations with new alien types where some won't like you and there were alien bosses. Maybe like cities with central places you have to take out and places to explore.
I like the update but on PlayStation you don't see the corrupted sentinel mark on planets if you scan them.
The Echo Locator is not a random drop. The Dissonance Resonators drop them. They drop either that or the Inverted Mirror. If you approach the resonator on foot before mining it, it tells you whether it is holding the Echo Locator or an Inverted Mirror. Hope this helps.
True. I have been shooting spider sentinel's for hours and still no Echo Locator!

Not true. The Resonator always drops the mirror but the echo is random and can also be found in the barrel dropped by the large corrupt quads.
@johnbuchanan3455 It is true. As the 1st comment said, you can see what the Resonator will drop when you get close.
The ratio is about 80% with Inverted Mirrors to 20% with Echo Resonators.
Also if you drop a save beacon there, you can go back 12 hours later and get another Locator when the Resonator respawns.
I got my first Sentinel ship completely by surprise when one hailed me while pulsing between planets. It produced a garbled message and then vanished to a nearby corrupted planet. It gave me a marker and bam, after doing the repair and the brain thing on that planet (which was surprisingly easy), it was mine.
These ships hovering and take off is for me the most epic thing.

To find a ship there are 2 more options 1. Kill all 5 interceptor waves in space and u get a scanner from the sentinel freighter it will mark the next system with a corrupted planet 2. When ur already on a corrupted planet kill all waves of ground sentinels so u then get a marker too

There's also a random event while using the pulse engine in space where a sentinel ship tries to ask you for help before flying away, then it gives you the location of a dissonant system. Once you get to the system you are given the location of a crashed sentinel ship. I'm pretty sure this event can happen in any system.
Or just shot a space station til it gives you a 4 star wanted level and all you need to do is survive two rounds with the sentinels before the sentinel ship pops up.
I got my first and(so far) only interceptor by defeating the sentinel freighter as you described.
@@EpicDragon32 That's for the quest specifically, so it's likely they wanted us to do that FIRST since that's how living ships worked.

The way the windshield works is really similar to some of the cars in cyberpunk love it.
These corrupted planets actually can be used to collect an insane amount of gold to sell. Atlantideum - pugneum
Pugneum + faecium = gold
You can also just search for sentinel ships to scrap but that takes time
Takes time but 40M per ship, that's pretty fast money.
*AND* Refined Pugneum = NANITES!

C class ships will sell for 16-22 million depending on how many cargo slots they have, the amount goes up with class/slots. You'll generally find that you only get 40 million for an A class with a high amount of slots.
10 radiant shards in a refiner gives 500 nanites.
1 walker brain gives you 230
1 radiant mirror gives you 95.

If you can’t find the resonator you can still get the ship after fighting the 5 waves of sentinels, also if you get the resonator it only works on a planet with life and fauna on it. Low atmosphere or barren planets it won’t work on. Thanks for all the info and great content Jason!!

Yeah, ffirst corrupted planet I got was a barren one so I went through 3 sets of sentinel waves with the "Nothing Found" message popping up.

I didn't get a ship after fighting 5 waves
I actually got the ship while hunting for basalt yesterday. In one of that events that happens while you're using the hyperdrive, instead of a trader or a pirate, was a sentinel ship asking for help. In my case, roleplaying, I just let it go, but I could attack it or helped. Letting it go, I received a marker on a corrupted planet, to its crash site.
I didn't know you could get so many things from that (I'm in my first complete playthrough), but luckly I can go back to that planet and try again.
errata: the encounters you have using your pulse drive, not your hyperdrive.
I wonder what would happen if you attacked or helped it?
The little bots blinking red and blue near the camps and sentinel ships can also be interacted with and have various items including Inverted Glass. I got 10 inverted just from 1 of those at a camp.

They seem to also give you hints for the glyphs they just give them in a different manner.
I love how one of the sentinel weapons is literally an LMG. Even with how the Anomaly takes off the box *'mag'* and lifts the top part of the multi tool during a reload.
I haven't played in over a year, and wondered why my world had a ton of purple crystals all over. I love the color purple so I'm digging this update
0:10 The Tevarin (Birdman) fighter in Star Citizen does the same thing. And that thing is impossibly agile.
They did this really well. You need to be good at combat to get a Sentinel fighter.
The cockpit reminds me of the crystal dome tech from cyberpunk 2077.
Great updates, Jason. I'm using them to derive real value and depth from the game. Your upbeat tone, detail and structure in each video are great. May I find you one day out there, exploring the stars!
Sorry if I missed you mention it, but as far as I cN tell, look for a SYSTEM that says DISSONANT, instead of where it usually says WATER for example. I have found 2 systems with this and both had corrupted planets :)
Here's a tip. The arachnid like corrupted sentinels have a higher chance to get the echo locator.

I found a planet that spawns blue once
Literally on a planet now that only spawns blue, it double spawned a red exotic at a trading station earlier so I built a base there. Base is named "Double spawn pictured exotic" planets name is "Darwin's Doing Somersaults" you'll see why if you find it lol
Sentinel photon has a small chance to disable enemy ship engines who are unshielded
You need to do this on at least normal or higher. Also the corrupted planet needs to be in a system that has a station or you will not progress.

I got lucky, I was in a nearby system and a sentinel ship stopped me in space to give ne the mission to fix its ship
Also it seems that the planet can’t be exotic either because I couldn’t seem to get it to work with an exotic planet with a space station

Watching this as a returning player and seeing the old space station layout makes me appreciate the new space stations even more.
I have watched tons of your nms sky videos and I found something on my own when the sentinel update came out after scouring over 60 systems on the edge of eissentam, I found a metallic dark green and black switchblade sentinel ship.. coordinates: face, jellyfish, pie, swirl, fly, dino, fly, jellyfish, bird, fly, jellyfish, fish.. I thought you might be interested.. I have a picture of it but there's no way to attach it on here.

One of my 6 Sentinel Ships is exactly like Jason's, green, black and yellow highlights. It's my fav.
I love the lift off animation! So glad I never gave up on this game.
You only need to kill the resonance sentinels that drill into the ground to get an echo locator, if you hover your sight over them it will say what it will drop, either a inverted mirror or a echo locator, you do not need to fight anything really

So I grabbed the first planet I saw with corrupted sentinels. Got everything but couldn't get a result on the location device. I had to be in a system that had a habitable biome somewhere in it. And water I guess. Still not completely sure but I'm doing it all again cos the first ship I got sucked a large one. Thank you Jason. A wealth of knowledge and fun as always.

I just got my first sentinel ship tonight as a new player, it was on an extreme ice planet so i had the most annoying time but it was damn well worth it
Good tip: You can quickly find corrupted planets in Nexus Quests cuz sometimes it gives you quest to kill the Resonators. Hope that helps too

Did i mention the Sentinel Ships have 2 different landing sounds?
The ship is found can hover as well. Just as it comes in to land you can keep it in a stable hover just above the ground.
I should imagine they're all the same though.

Something I find very interesting - and maybe this is a bug - but when you find the sentinel ship, it has a name that's different from when you claim it. This ship type changes name for some reason. Maybe this is intentional, I'd love that, actually.

After spending hours to get the Jetpack, I finally realised that if you do the Harmonic Seal mission, youll automatically unlock it.
If you have played cyberpunk 2077, these ships are using the exact same styling and animation styles from that game. I love that. Cyberpunk is a good source for inspiration.
For more faster amd effective production i think the minotaur might be good.

Another update that is a few steps and you get a cool ship. As for now we have Explorer, Shuttle, Fighter, Hauler, Exotic, living, Solar, Sentinel.
First of all, AAARRGGH!!! A TALKING CREEPER!!! Heh, heh, all jokes aside, there are actually 8 classes of unique ships to collect, not 7. Like you said, there’s Explorer, Shuttle, Fighter, Hauler, Living (Organic), Solar, and Sentinel. However, you forgot Exotic. Exotic makes 8.
Which, by all means, if you only have one of each type, effectively allowing one to make use of any ship class’s unique abilities, then one would have space for an extra 4 ships beyond that. Spaces which might as well be filled by a Golden Vector or Utopia Speeder….. Or both. Rockatoa, Brickticks out!

I found a sentinel ship that looks like a giant robot, kind of the sentry bot from Fallout, and when launching in the air it just folds together, with 2 wings and a small cockpit
Man I just need to know what multitool upgrades you've got going on... that's insane!
I got the sentinel multi-tool yesterday as my 2nd tool. It's now my main tool. It performs so much better as a B teir as opposed to my decked out A teir. Kinda excited to see if I'll ever find one in A or S. And I made the mistake of clearing a sentinel tower on one of the corrupt planets so I can't check for ships there anymore. Rip.
Still searching for my "perfect" Sentinal ship but I now have 2 or 3 of them... Mine is also green and black the one I am using now... never thought I'd swap anything for my Exotic guppy but I do LOVE these ships!
I'm pretty sure the echo locator is a guaranteed drop if you destroy a sentinel freighter. I did it with a class B starship, class c upgrade to my photon cannons and no upgrades to my rockets.... took some time but it got done lol. Make sure you have plenty of sodium to recharge your shields, I would say at least 700, or shield recharges if you're going at the freighter with a low tiered ship like I did! Attack it from close behind so it cant shoot you.
Holy hell i got an S class sentinel multitool on my first go😂😂. Truly appreciate this video. Its definitely one of your best!
Another tip to collect barrel contents faster you can shoot barrels dropped by sentinels while in combat instead of holding square up close.
So many new things to do and now I have to do Echoes too! 😲
Also the scans are random as well. I went through 3 full scenarios where at the end I was hit with a “nothing found”😅
Another cool thing: All regular ship upgrades you can make or buy [for warp drive, pulse engine, etc.] all work on the interceptors as well.
Does the sentinel cannon get upgraded by photon cannon upgrades?

@fish never did for me, my damage is capped at 2100 and won't go any higher no matter what I put on it. I can try again I guess
I got myself a black and red A class interceptor with white accents, it has such a sleek, evil, technological look. Upgraded it to S and am using it as my main starship right now, got a couple more interceptors but none of them looked as good so I scrapped them for a bunch of units.
How much supercharged slots does the s class ship have ?
@@honormustbeearned3439 it currently has 4 supercharge slots, though I'm not sure if that increased to 4 when I upgraded it from A to S or if it was always 4.
@@brother_sothoth It should always be 4 and then random placement.
I found a bug or glitch not sure. If you have a sentinel ship, exchange it with for another ship on a station. Go over to the old sentinel ship and add that npc to squadron. You can than find random sentinel ships coming onto the space station.
8:53 OH I understand it’s an appearance thing. I just got the jetpack a couple days ago and I thought I dropped it somewhere or like deleted it cuz I couldn’t figure out how to add it in my technology slots. Ofc now I know it’s just an appearance lol
I found it faster to shoot the sentinels on the ground, jump and your ship and do the 5 wave battle for AI fragment to locate crash ship. AI fragment seems to be a 100% drop. Ground sentinel locator was too much rng, got annoyed after 30 mins with no drop.
Do photon cannon upgrades apply to the sentinal cannon?

Where is the love for discovery? i found yesterday my first armonic camp (and my sentinel ship), just by exploring without a map, and i was very happy, this is the meaning of no mans sky, discovery (in the multitool cabinet i have found a nail shooter, very unique)
Ok ppl are saying they got the cords to a crashed ship because they got a interaction while in space. For me I just found a planet that had dissonance and I went there. I saw sentinels and I killed every wave like I always do so I can be left alone. I had no idea I was gonna get so much loot. I got a S class ship and I’m so happy.
I got my sentinel ship through an anomaly detector through astroids and it was like the living ship quest where you go to another system and you repair it and eventually you obtain it

Pretty cool update, but i wish they wouldve added some actual new technology instead of just reskins/fuel alternatives. Still rlly cool tho and i will enjoy all the nanites and free gold. Hope theres other alchemical recipes with the atlantideum!

I had a glitch where I was in a corrupted system and the echo locator wouldn’t work and reloading the save wouldn’t fix it so I had to kill a sentinel capital ship to bring me to the next system
This is going to bring me back into the game
Man, these Sentinel ships are giving me THE ITCH.
Helpful hint build a base woth floors and walls dont put a roof on. Then put some heath containers down then start shooting the corrupted sentinels and use the walls to defect there shots
Ha! Used to do this with Sentinel Walkers in Day 1 NMS before everything that got added with the updates! 🖖
Just fyi to get the ship, I didnt use an echo locator, if you kill all the waves of corrupt sentinels, a scan will happen which will mark the location of a crashed ship on the map. Use the minatour its easy to kill them all
I have to say I enjoy the new update and the new ships, the new jetpack also reminds me of Buzz lightyear from Toy Story
ACCORD! Yep, planet Bambi: I found 3 of the {echo?} bases, found one sentinel rifle, then a sentinel pistol twice...with two different names. And the ships the dissonance locator found were identical. That is three Sentinel Interceptors, X-Wing? kinda, white and black. So it is important to find different corrupt worlds!
I noticed with the new rifle multi-tool, both old and new being a class, the new one takes more time to heat up. i swapped mods from old to new if anyone wants to mention them.
I think if you have repair shutoff in your game options you don’t need to hack the brain you just take the ship
Hello Jason Plays I was wandering if you could shed some light about how I can solve this issue I've got? The issue I'm having on nms itself is I've tried unlocking the Aeron Turbojet several times now and every time it do the harmonic terminate to get access to the sentinel multi-tool I don't get the jet pack cosmetic. Could you let me know if there's a way to resolve the issue I'm having.

Started new game and found a a class settlement on a frozen moon. It turns out it also has corrupted sentinels!

I wish I could get the multi tool and jetpack, however engaging in ground combat is impossible for me currently as my console crashes within seconds of starting a fight. My console is last gen but it has handled it fine before. I need to wait for the next patch (I hope)
I wonder if you could store Harmonic Brains to use when you discover another Sentinel Ship, it would save a bit of time.

A tip that I can drop is once u find the crashed sentinel ship, build a base close, I have a new ship there when I come back there and I repair and sell for easy money 😆

I just discovered they added exosuit expansion units in our legacy saves. I found it in sentient camp.

Another note is once you claim a sent ship, all you have to do is complete 5 waves or corrupted sents. Then it will clear and show you a crash site:)

@Arby’s Fisted so you know how once you aggro the corrupted sents a wave counter happens. You kill the wave and more shows up. Survive all 5 waves and it will do a scan for a crashed interceptor !!! Easy
I like the sentinel ships because they’re unit printers. I have over a billion units in just a few hours thanks to scrapping these ships.
